First Terps football commitment

This one broke over the weekend on Rivals and Scout, but I wasn't able to confirm until late last night.

Clarksburg defensive back Avery Graham became the first verbal commitment for Maryland's 2009 recruiting class, according to Coyotes head coach Larry Hurd.

Graham doesn't have a profile on either of the recruiting service Web sites yet, but a quick Google search shows that he's a bit of a track star. One blog reader passed along this link to his MoCoRunning track bio.

I'll have more from Graham and Hurd tomorrow.
