Good news, bad news for Terps football recruiting
First the good -- Scout.com is reporting that Stockbridge, Ga. quarterback Tyler Bass has verbally committed to Maryland.
As for the bad news, well, I'll just link to the player in question's Scout.com profile and let you see for yourself (and remind everyone that Signing Day is still a couple weeks away, so who knows what will ultimately happen).

Is he only a 2 star?? Is that really a big deal??

Not that big of a deal. We're in great shape at linebacker, losing a so-so prospect to a so-so program. Ah, I won't be losing any sleep over it.

getting Tyler Bass was a huge get especially if you look at QB depth chart, I agree with E$ loosing Zach Brown is not a big deal, he probably looked at MD roster and so all the depth we had and figured why not get some PT, plus this kid has been back and forth all year about his commitment, keep up the good work Matt B cause since Heather D left tracking the terps has suffered mightly, you could say its a shell of its self.

Agreed with Frankie on getting Bass. The Terps need depth at QB, and Bass has some nice offers. I'll always judge a kid on his offers vs. how many stars are next to his name.

So-so prospect to so-so program? Heels on their way up and Terps on their way down (Gee, who won this year???). In a year or so, Carolina will be in BCS while big Ralph will still be struggling for that 6th win and a trip to bowl game against fourth place WAC team

LOL. The "way up" for UNC was what, 4 wins? Congrats on a narrow victory over an injury depleted Terps squad at home, I think most would look at the entire body of work from both teams and easily conclude which one had the better season. Good luck with that BCS trip, I think it'd be expensive for Butch to buy tickets for the entire team, not to mention an NCAA violation, but if they're hell bent on getting to a BCS game then more power to them. On the field, maybe set your sights on any kind of bowl bid at all and then start talking about being "on the rise"....
