Jennings, Thomas links
Just two quick links on the constantly evolving Maryland basketball big man recruiting situation ...
• Rivals.com reported that Terrence Jennings will spend his senior year of high school at Fitchburg (Mass.) Notre Dame Prep, not Mt. Zion (N.C.) Christian Academy.
Jody Demling of the Courier-Journal thinks Jennings' switch to NDP could be a good sign for Louisville in Rick Pitino's efforts to land the former Terp commit.
• Adam Zagoria of the Herald News in West Paterson, N.J. is all over the Quintrell Thomas recruitment, particularly where Rutgers factors in.
According to Zagoria, the Scarlet Knights have impressed Thomas more than he expected, but Maryland might still hold an edge.

Even if the Terps were to land Jennings, he's definitely a one and done player, and that's IF he can keep his grades up and stay eligible....I don't think it's that much to get worked up about if he goes elsewhere....

With this latest tidbit on Mr. Jennings, uk, louisville--which I would be shocked to find out it did not have something to do with this unfolding drama--et al., can have him. I'm all for Maryland formally severing its ties with this guy as it has become clear that he will not qualify at Maryland.
Youthful impetuousness and general immaturity aside, it appears that he may now be switching high schools...again...for the 3rd or 4th time...in 4 years. That, along with his rebuttal to his Mt. Zion coach's statement that he had transferred to Kent, further demonstrates that he is flaky, undependable and possesses some significant character flaws.
All told, I believe the Terps' program and the University deserves much better than what Mr. Jennings may offer it. In the long run, Gary Williams and his staff are better served to focus their attention upon recruiting 3-5 Star student-athletes with strong academics and character. Such an approach will ensure the program's overall health and strength over time.
