Sean Mosley's all-around game
It might be misleading to call the Charlotte game a "breakout" effort for freshman Sean Mosley. That's because you get the sense he'll be having many more games like this one.
The freshman from St. Frances filled the stat sheet -- 11 points, 2-for-2 on threes, five rebounds and two assists in 23 minutes. Now we know why Gary Williams likes this kid so much. It's the work ethic.
His teammates say Mosley is a killer in practice, crashing the boards and playing rugged defense. He plays big for 6 feet 4.
As he iced his ankle after the game, Mosley wore a satisfied look. He knew this was his most complete game. He felt a little like he did in high school when he could control games. "I always rebounded and played defense. Defense brings me into the flow of the offense," he said.

Sean seems to be a complete ball player just makes things happen on defense and offense. I can't really compare him to anyone. He is unique.

It's just refreshing to see somebody who cares and shows heart, especially for a freshmen. Braxton Dupree didnt't care last year and doesn't this year, like Sean does. It's very evident.

In another year or so, maybe even later this year, you will see why this kid is so good. He plays a lot like Juan did. The difference is he is much bigger in stature which will be huge. His game is not amazing dribble moves and reverse slams. The athleticism isn't there like in some. He is a slasher, a turn and shooter. He can overpower guys that have a few inches on him. It is only the begining of the rise back on top. Next season will see the Terps back to where they were for so long. Then the year after when Barton, Smith, and Epps come in, they will be right there at National Championship level again.

Ray from Baldwin--
Understand your point and always loathe to engage in the typically mindless practice of comparing players. That said, when it comes to Mosley I think you don't have to look far-- go down the UM bench and stop at the assistant coach who helped recruit him-- Booth. Like Mosley, a Balamer kid who loves playing and playing hard, dedicates himself to all phases of the game, and who routinely comes up bigger than his size would otherwise indicate possible. Like Booth, Mosley is a warrior who will never back down, period. Terp fans should count their blessings he did not end up at Syracuse.

He is going to work well with Jordan Williams next year.

Yep, Ryan, I can't wait until 2010 when we moan about all those recruits that we said we were going to get, just like we have done for the past 6 years.
How great is a coach that can get us to national attention every 10 years or so.
Give Gary a raise!! 2 million ain't enough!

By the time Sean is ready to carry Maryland, he'll be a pro. And Jordan Williams ain't here yet. Why do we always have to wait until 2010? We deserve better, and now, not in 2010 or 2011. Gary's whining because his team isn't getting any national recognition. Gary - go and recruit a couple of 5 star players and then you'll get the recognition. Otherwise, we need to move on.

Mr. Stinkey,
Just curious as to why you think "we deserve better"?
Maryland, in terms of its athletic programs (not just men's basketball) has always been second or third tier. We're not talking about Duke or UNC here. Maryland is lucky Williams got them the championship he did. Why on earth would all these good local kids choose to stay in College Park( have you ever been there ?) when they could be in Raleigh, Durham or some other nice part of the country at a progam that has more to offer their athletes on and off the court?

I played against Mosley in high school. That guy is a monster. I can't wait to see what he does in the coming years.

AGSpoilsport, I hope you're not a "TERPS" fan because we don't need your attitude to support our winning athletic programs. Where is Duke and UNC football? Also 2 National Champs this fall at UMD. Go jump in a lake or the monkey cages in Durham.
