Seven Maryland players violated curfew

Seven Maryland players -- most expected to play a lot -- violated curfew and will not be permitted to start today's bowl game.

The players are RB Da'Rel Scott, LB Moise Fokou, LB Trey Covington, LB Antwine Perez, DB Jamari McCollough, WR Danny Oquendo and LB Derrick Drummond.

Maryland says all will be permitted to play, but none will start. The players' absences, however brief, could be significant.

Didn't need any of them in the first half. In fact, the replacements have played much better. Green/Meggett run more physical than Scott and Moten is a far superior LEO then Covington (highly overrated since coming out of Eleanor Roosevelt with Jared Gaither and Derrick Williams) and is getting to the QB at will today. Oquendo, though dependable, sorely lacks the speed of say, Adrian Cannon, who replaced him today.

It might not be so bad that we graduate 30+ Seniors. This group has generally underachieved and not one Senior is considered a top 3 round draft pick (DHB is a Junior) in the upcoming NFL draft.

they must have gone to a truck stop or strip joint. what else could there be in boise

..OK, I may have jumped the gun a bit with Darel Scott. I do wonder if he would have ran for as much yardage if he didn't get benched/motivated. Impressive 2nd half.

Now let's go get some recruits and hope DHB returns for his senior year.

Bench the "Frige" a key game and he benches these key players. This is not High School...Missed a crewfew big deal! I say higher a new coach. I don't care if MD won or not.

A "key" game? And I bet you think the NIT is a "key" post season tournament too. Good call on the transgressors Fridge.

Ronnie Tyler and Adrian Cannon will be obvious upgrades over I. Williams and D. Oquendo next season

I wonder who D O's is? Im DOsr and I approved of the action although I did not feel the punishment was fair. Should not have left the rm(not the hotel) and it was 2 days before the game. I'm just saying, 4 yrs no infractions. 30 seconds, a whole half and 1/2 of a quarter. My opinion will always be viewed as bias so it does not really matter at this point but lesson learned.
And the thing about speed is it becomes mute once a defense shuts it down. Knowing what defense will leave holes makes for a smarter/productive offensive player. One that the QB looks for in the times of desperation, one who can brake off a route once its interrupted by a faster stronger defender.
Thanks for your support Terps fans and true football followers, UMd. The future looks bright for Danny and the Terps!!
