« Notes from Maryland's 72-51 win over Bryant | Main | A season about to end »

December 28, 2008

More from Maryland-Bryant

* Gary Williams seems to appreciate the hustle -- and the potential -- of 6-foot-8 freshman Jin Soo Kim.

"You're going good," Williams said to the forward after yesterday's 72-51 victory. "Thanks," the player replied.

* Freshman center Steve Goins missed the game with lower leg pain and is due for magnetic resonance imaging.

* Williams was almost bowled over by his own players when a ball got loose near where he was standing on the sideline.

* Maryland's next opponent, Elon, is 4-4 after beating Lipscomb, 79-76, in overtime on Monday night.

did elon beat big daddy lipscomb?

Not every school gets a Turner Gill. But Williams has to start getting better matchups before the ACC opens. If you can't beat the top level teams you at least can schedule them. Gonzaga doesn't shy away. We got humiliated by the Zags and near rival GT And the joke is we got a handful of votes I guess because Michigan went onto win a few. Well the old Dodgers had a saying after being killed by the Yankees: Wait til next year. It did come more often when Koufax arrived. Look at the Chi Bulls. They're a first year team for so many of the college stars before they move on. Gary is admired for taking unwanted unheralded players. An assistant now at WVa I think they said last night during their total domination of OSU left Gary's squad. Why? He saw a future elsewhere. The Terps need a future leader to win. So far just hope.

WTF,

Obviously you have a beef with MD and are not a fan, otherwise you would know that Billy Hahn left MD earlier this DECADE. So take your hate somewhere else and lack of knowledge.

Hahn was a head coach at LaSalle after he left MD. He did not leave for another assistant job. Get a clue before you start running your mouth like you know something about MD basketball.

Second, what does Turner Gill a football coach at Buffalo have to do with ANYTHING. Again, go hate somewhere else or get a clue.

Anyone who says MD takes a soft schedule just doesn't know what their talking about. MD has 10 top 25 games on their schedule. That is 1/3 of their games. And, if Michigan jumps into the top 25, its 11. Every top team plays 8 or so tune up games. Especially in the ACC.
Wake up. I mean, is davidson's league play anywhere near the ACC? Think.

Billy Hahn got run out of LaSalle after a rape scandal that he tried to help cover up.One of the players involved was later cleared of the implications but the fact that Billy Hahn has a job at all in the NCAA's is a miracle in itself. He took the assistant's job because that was the only one offered to him,by a coach who is getting a third or fourth chance himself in Bob Huggins..He left the Terps in 2001 to take a head coaching job,Gary won the National Title in 2002?Your point is to stupid to even debate.
