Looking at Florida State
Maryland fans might get encouraged at how Boston College ran through the Seminoles for 176 yards last weekend.
Florida State coach Bobby Bowden has likened Maryland's offense to Boston College's. Both, he says, are big and physical up front. Boston College is fourth in the ACC in rushing offense, and Maryland is fifth.
But Florida State's defense is good. Its strength is pressure and big plays. The Seminoles rank first in the conference in sacks at 2.9 per game and first in tackles for losses at 8.5 a game. Owing largely to that pressure, the 'Noles are second in the conference in pass defense.
On offense, Florida State averages 192 yards on the ground -- second in the ACC only to run-happy Georgia Tech.
Boston College beat the 'Noles last week not only because of its running attack, but also because the Eagles intercepted Christian Ponder three times.

The seniors on the O-Line will be so fired up that they will be able to plow through brick barracades? Let's hope they pass protect. FREDTERP

FSU *should* be susceptible to plays where we allow them to over pursue. Unless they get lucky on a blitz with guessing gaps, the run should work very well. I'd also expect a lot of play action to bring their secondary in a little closer to try and get extra room for the WRs.
And I predict we'll try our Hey-Bey reverse a few times with horrific results. FSU will have scouted that play out, are extremely fast and will crush it.
Oquendo will need lots of help on 3rd down, he'll be triple teamed if need be. So look for the TEs to figure in that situation.
Hey-Bey needs a big game if he wants to prove he's legit.

Game play calling and players executing them will mean so much this game.Even the subs need be on their game.St. speed might challenge our defense so SCORE MORE POINTS!Terps.Fla.St. very beatable, even this time of year.I expect the cold to throw some Fla. players off their game for awhile.
