Did you notice that...
Did you notice that…
--Chris Turner continued to look for his favorite third-down receiver, Danny Oquendo. The senior caught six balls for first downs when Maryland needed plays on third or fourth down.
--The Terps continued a recent pattern of moving the ball early in games. They made 88 yards on their first two drives – all through the air.
--Torrey Smith, who holds the Maryland record for single-season kickoff yardage, continued to give the Terps good field position.
--Turner, who has been encouraged to run more, got his first career rushing touchdown in the first quarter.
--Boston College linebacker Mike McLaughlin literally jumped over Maryland running back Davin Meggett to sack Turner at the end of the first quarter.
--Boston College tried the increasingly popular direct snap to the running back a few times with modest success.
--Maryland’s Anthony Wiseman appeared to have position when called for pass interference in the second quarter, resulting in a Boston College first down at the Maryland 42.
--Jamari McCollough didn’t turn his head quickly enough on Boston College’s first touchdown pass. Adding to his embarrassment, he lost his helmet. He later missed a tackle on a 19-yard run by Montel Harris in the third quarter.

DID YOU NOTICE that ralph got brain freeze right before the half when he was trying to move the ball deep in is own territory when all he had to do was run out the clock and go into the locker room tied.DID YOU NOTICE HOW the terps were held to minus 7 yards rushing. DID YOU NOTICE how the offensive line got destroyed again for the second straight week.DID YOU NOTICE how we must have the worst field goal kicker in the ACC. AND FINALLY DID YOU NOTICE that ralph needs to be fired and get one of these young energetic coaches like skip holtz, or kelly from cinn to take this team to greater heights.

Fridge should be totally embarrassed allowing the fake field goal turn into a TD, especially after his D stufed BC inside the 5 on 3 straight plays. A rec ball coach would have seen it coming.

This is a season for one main memory...you are what you are!
If these kids can't figure it out, then how can we expect the coaches to, the coaches don't play, the players do, and to me, playing the games against, Fl St, Va Tch, BC points to one thing, the players! It seems the '09 recruting class is much better, hopefully the new OFF Coor. has this year to get the bugs out, because his Offense really seem predicitable (if it does to me, then the Def Coor.'s we have played must of had some fun, realizing what the other team was/is trying to do and then shutting it down).
I hope this year is a turning point year!
One thought, for as many NFL players the Fridge sends to the NFL, how come more topline HS players don't think of MD...isn't that the thought of every HS senior, some day playing in the NFL!

Hey, whats up Jeff, how are you? Interesting year. Did you notice:
Secondary hasn't played the ball all year. They seem to only react after a player catches the ball( technique?). They play 2hand touch on running plays. They attack the line at full speed, then freeze at the moment of impact allowing a simple run or bubble screen turn into a large gain.
When they play hard, well, ask Wake Forest. Boston College looked a whole lot better due to our defensive fowl-ups. Plays that can change a game defensively just escapes Cosh's strategies or adjustments but its hard(easy) to blame a coach!!
Congrats to all the seniors and players who'll return next yr on a tough but productive season.
To my baby boy, you played your a$$ off!!To all your doubters, you showed them against a top ranked defensive unit. Way to go out!!

I agree on the Wiseman call -- the boneheads in the booth said that a defender can't impede a receiver, but Wiseman anticipated the route and had position. He doesn't have to give up his position to let the receiver go by, that is crazy. I also thought the overturned fumble call was wrong. At least on the camera angles ABC kept showing, it was impossible to tell which hands touched the ball first. There were as many BC guys diving at the ball at the same time as MD players. I don't think the ball hit anyone's foot, but the way it bounced backward after landing a few inches from a BC player everyone seemed to think it was live. I didn't see any "indisputable video evidence" to overturn the call. The officials said #36 touched it first, there wasn't even a 36 in the vicinity. The closest # to 36 was 38 (Jackson) but it looked like there were at least 2 sets of hands closer than his -- and I couldn't tell who those hands belonged to.

Chris Turner had a great game and the Terps would have won if he would have gotten decent blocking and surer hands from his receivers, who dropped a few catchable balls. Ralph Friedgen also blamed an interception on a receiver who didn't run the route right.

Funny thing, I don't believe MD had a player #36 on the field for that punt although BC did. Ok not funny.

BOB,
DID YOU NOTICE that you only comment when they don't win. Why can't you give them credit when they do win?

both knuckle-headed abc broadcasters mispronounced Oquendo's name the entire game!! --A semester of HS spanish is all you need to figure that one out and I can't believe nobody alerted them on it. Where have you gone, Keith Jackson?

And I thought I had been mispronouncing Oquendo's name for 4 years after hearing those announcers. He had a great game and the feature photo from the Sun coverage calls him out for the only ball he didn't catch all game. That photo should have been of Gronkowski. DO is an underrated player with sure hands who can take a hit -- notice he rarely if ever fumbles even though he does a lot of his work across the middle and returning punts. Solid player who deserves better from ABC and the Sun.

hey mychal....you're a flamer....give me one clue that a "rec coach" could have seen the fake FG coming? for that matter...give me one clue a "pro coach" could have seen it coming!

Thanx, Skin. Most of his 4 yrs he has stayed under the radar. I just wanted to thank all of his supporters, fans and friends who stuck it out for 4 years. Thank God for Hector and Karen Surita, #1 Maryland fans and Danny supporters from day 1.
Unfortunately, the game has changed. Alot of politics involved. He understood and dealt with it. Shout Outs to the students who showed love in mass amounts.

RON B,Sorry,I was out of town for Thanksgiving so I am late responding.Point well taken.I guess I have been so frustrated by our team the last few years.I like the Fridge, think he is a great representative for Terp nation, and no doubt he bleeds turtle blood. However over the last few I have seen things with the team that really bother me.Clock management,no sense of urgancy when we are behind, etc, etc.I see these things and wonder what a young, forward thinking coach like aMike Leach would do under similar circumstances.I just wonder if the game has passed the Fridge by a little.THERE IS NOTHING that I can see that should be preventing the Terps from being atop 20 team year in and year out.I just don't know if the current staff are the guys that can do it.
