Terps' helmet decals

Fridge had told me before the season that he was kicking around an idea to reward players' achievements with Terps stickers to display on their helmets.

So what do we think of them?

I was looking at them during the Virginia game. I'm told by Maryland that "one is for completing your academic requirements for the week and one is for grading out well in a win."

Sure, it's a little Ohio State-ish. For years, I've associated helmet decals with Buckeyes "pride stickers," as they're often called.

But I give Fridge credit for making academic performance part of the criteria. I'm told you can lose your decals if you perform poorly.

what do the helmet decals looks like?

NOTE FROM JEFF:

Mike, from what I could see from the Scott Stadium press box, they looked like little yellow and red Terrapins. But my wife insists I need glasses.

Then everyone should get a sticker for a win. However, how often is that going to happen for the rest of the season?Man,I think us fans needed a bye week, too, right now.

Whatever motivational tool Fridge can use to get his team to play smart and hard for 60 minutes against EVERY opponent, I'm all for.

Incoporating academic performance is a nice PR move, too.

If you can lose them for poor performance, there should be quite a few less for the Wake game. The real problem is what do you take away from the coaches?

After the Virginia game, I would give every player a helmet decal in the shape of a goose egg.

Ralph's helmet would look awfully empty

From what I could tell it wasn't actually the terrapin, but an off-centered profile illustration of the Testudo statue...the same one they rub for luck on the field (and across campus).

..,helmet is indeed for the use not only for motors but also for sports purposes.. one thing is for sure helmets are for safety of the people.....
