Maryland and night games
After losing a couple night games on the road (to Virginia and Middle Tennessee State), Fridge is thinking about tinkering with the pre-game routine.
He wants to make sure his players don't have to spend too much time standing around -- and maybe worrying -- about the game.
"It is true, you do have to wait around awhile," the coach said. He's considering pushing everything back a little -- beginning with the arrival at the hotel -- so there's less downtime.
A typical schedule for a night game looks like this:
* Sleep in at the hotel until 10 a.m., then have a team breakfast.
* Pre-game walkthrough.
* Pre-game meal four hours before the game.
* Arrive at the stadium two hours before the game.

Tinkering has nothing to do with it.. they are just not a good road team. Both teams have all day to think of the game - either you're prepared or your not....

Jeff,
How about ask if they could practice this week at night? Perhaps the night lighting is distracting during the game.

I know from personal experience that night football was wierd for me,too.Good suggestion from pterp;start practicing at early nighttime right away.Fridge is thinking along the same-change things up for this team.It should'nt be a big deal for a big game.We're just trying to adjust the kids for what's coming if they want a chance to be successful this next game in a hostile environment.The team will benefit,believe me.
