A look back at the game

Did you notice that...

*Maryland won ths toss and opted to receive to begin the second half. The last game, Fridge said his captains won the toss and made the wrong decision, opting to take the ball. He was determined that they not repeat that mistake.

*Wolfpack quarterback Russell Wilson fooled the Terps with ball fakes, freezing Maryland’s defense was buying him time. He is particularly good at pump-faking one direction and throwinig another. On one play he scrambled across the field, stopped cold and found Jamelle Eugene for a 29-yard completion.

*Da’Rel Scott immediately looked stronger than at anytime since his shoulder was injured in Week 3 against California.

*Maryland's coverage on speedy kick returner T.J. Graham was solid. He had four returns for 73 yards and his longest return was 25 yards. This is the guy who had a 100-yard return against Boston College.

*Travis Baltz pinned the Wolfpack on its 1 with a 54-yard kick in the second quarter. He continues to fare well on net yardage.

*The attendance of 45,018 was not what Fridge had wanted, but the weather was horrid. Lots of no-shows, as might be expected.

On Saturday at Bryd stadium we had great seats for the game. 50 yard line second row. Granted the weather well sucked for lack of a better word. None the less we had a great time and the terps won. However, I must say I was very disappointed in the lack of support from must of the home side fans. It was like people were reading a boring book and would look up once in a while to see what was going on out on the feild! Come on people! Get off your A$$'S and yell, scream, cheer, whatever! The team needs your support! Thank god for the student section which ROCKED! Go Terps!

I think that the fans are showing that they don't support Barf and Cosh....NOT the team!! I beleive that the fans totally support the Terps but are tired of hearing year out and year in that Barf "Just dosen't know what's wrong with the team" And "I can't seem to get to them" A team eventually takes on the attitude of the head coach and Barf isn't a bundle of energy and neither does he have too many good things to say about the team until after they win. It has been so disappointring to support Maryland Football and Basketball over the years because of inconsistancy, one gets hyped up about the football program after a good season and wonders what the next season will bring and it never seems to be able to stabilize (10-2 seasons to 6-5 seasons). I just wonder how other college programs recruit and seem to stay on a constant level and Maryland just keeps wandering through each season getting a slow start and then hoping for a bowl game. There is nothing that Ralph or Cosh can do to change my mind short of leaving the program....This win was great but only serves give Debbie Yow a reason to keep them for another season of mediocrity and excuses from the head coach.

I, sadly, remember Scott getting injured.

I'm on the 50 yard line on the visitor's side, up towards the top, and you can't get the alums and old times to stand up unless the people in the first 15 rows do so. I only wish the student section were larger.

Let's go Terps, heal up for VT!
