I talked to Portis
Josh wasn't at the game tonight, but I spoke with him on the phone.
He told me his GPA was at least a 2.0, and that he did not plagiarize. He would not tell me, though, how he violated the university's academic code.
Because of privacy laws, the folks at Maryland can't say much either, but Ralph Friedgen was clearly sympathetic. I wrote a separate short story on it for tomorrow's paper.
Josh wouldn't answer any of my questions until I gave him some stats from the game and told him how everyone played. He said he'd be back at practice on Monday and apologized to everyone for his mistake.
Jordan played well tonight. With the exception of one interception, he looked good. He threw an incredible pass to Isaiah Williams that would have been a touchdown, but Isaiah dropped it. It's almost midnight and I'm still in the press box so I'm gonna get outta here. I'll give you more game stuff on Sunday, and we have a 4:30 teleconference with Ralph on Sundays, so I'll blog after that as well.
Lotta leftover stuff from tonight.
