Quickie Terps football news

OK, here are the quick hits:

Ralph Friedgen said corner Richard Taylor -- who partially tore his ACL this spring -- thinks he'll be ready to play by Sept. 1, but Ralph isn't convinced and will probably hold him out longer. Taylor is still rehabbing.

Tailbacks Da'Rel Scott and Morgan Green are both back at full speed. Isaiah Williams tweaked a hamstring and so did Darrius Heyward-Bey, but they've both told the coach they'll be ready by the start of camp.

As for how Ralph REALLY feels about the media picking the Terps to finish fifth in the Atlantic Division?

"It doesn't matter where you start, it's where you finish, right? Now, I may take that back to our players ..."

Quarterback Josh Portis is actually ahead of the learning curve (although he is still behind Jordan Steffy). It's his footwork, timing and mechanics that Ralph said is holding him back right now.

OK, that's it. Check back for more tomorrow.

On the Maryland website, they have a few nice pictures of your back, sitting at the table. What's up with that? Can't even really see that tan you are talking about!
