Why No MARC updates this morning? There were some terrible delays beginning very early. I usually take the 415 from Halethorpe but didnt get on a train until about 9. It was an awful rainy wait. At least they tried to keep us informed

Numerous trains were cancelled and/or delayed today. The emails from MARC blamed equipment problems for several of them (as opposed to high water) on the Penn Line.
So, let's see...
1) MARC can't run in the heat
2) MARC can't run when it snows
3) now, MARC can't run in the rain.
Here's a great slogan for Mr. Wells:
"MARC-your fairweather railroad!"

I was surprised that it actually didnt appear to be the rain that caused the issues. there were just two trains that simply broke down that bottlenecked the whole system. The sad thing is that the MARC has been running better, but this morning's trouble was the pretty serious. The perception was only made worse by the fact that riders were standing for over an hour in the rain waiting.
