Hot times on the MARC train
With the mercury hitting 100 this afternoon, there was bound to be trouble on MARC. It's already started. Donna DeLeno Neuworth, a passenger on the northbound Penn Line train that left Union Station at 4:15 reports there is no air-conditioning in any of the cars and that riders were "sweaty, dripping, angry people" as they left BWI Station on the way to Baltimore.
But, hey, it hadn't stalled out, as Monday's "hell train" did. Just think of it as a free mobile sauna for the price of a train ticket.

Great! That train turns around and is the 439 Southbound which turns into the 440 Northbound and that's my train. I guess I'll lose some pounds today. Also go alerts that all trains are running late because of single tracking at New Carrollton.

The 4:15 had some AC but it widely depended on the car. I was the 2d car from the rear and there was no AC but there was a seat. So I stayed.
Other cars had (anemic) AC but no seats.
So, would you prefer to sweat or stand?

I was on the 4:15 yesterday and it was not unbearable. The amount of energy expended by passengers who felt they were being noble by calling up the media expressing outrage was ridiculous. I suggest that all who complain start driving to work so they can sit in their air conditioned vehicle, in traffic.
