I have been riding the Metro from the Mondawmin station for over a year. During that time there has not been one day when all escalators and elevators have been running. The lower elevator is basically a public urinal. The floor is always filthy (although the day I reported via internet that one section was covered in blood, they did clean it). Several months ago there was a big sign about "stimulus dollars at work." It lasted a few days, with no evidence of any work being done. And they are going to spend millions on a chunk of driveway?????

Incredible. First upper middle class, heck lower middle class people rant and rage about poor people using up all their tax dollars on welfare and that the poor need to go out and get a job. Well James Wiley I was born poor, got that subpar Baltimore City education everyone loves talking about and if not for the MTA having services to the Hunt Valley, I would not have been able to get the job people like you keep yelling about us poor people getting. I earn a good wage as a tech support specialist and have since bought a car but I know the value of the MTA and how it helps those who want to help themselves do just that. Not every poor kid in Baltimore is looking for a hand out most simply want a way out. MTA helped me find mine. I am so happy your parents could get you a car and you have never needed MTA but not everyone was born as blessed as you. So get over yourself.
Baltimore is one of the only major cities in the country where mass transit is considered evil and needs to be done away with. Then again that maybe part of the reason why when I have to go away on business and tell people where I am from they feel sorry for me.
