MARC having 'major' disruptions - finally

The Maryland Transit Administration is reporting "major" disruptions on MARC tonight. There's nothing particularly surprising about  that. What's  new is that the agency isn't dismissing the problems as "minor" -- as it usually  does.

Jeff Qunton at Inside Charm City has complied a long of what went wrong on the Penn and Brunswick Lines today. It isn't pretty --  mechanical failure, canceled trains, late trains.

It's getting SO tiring to always have to allocate an additional hour for dinners, get-togethers, etc. because of expected MARC failures.

Still testing those locomotives?

Major problems also this morning with canceled trains and other delayed over 30 minutes.
I made the 5:20 express again yesterday, one of the few trains not delayed. Although it once again lost power three times and crawled from Odenton to BWI (there was no 5:10 express last night, so why did it crawl?). It was its usual 5 minutes late into BWI.
Why don't they just change the time table?

@Richard

The reasont he train crawled was that it was right behind the disabled train which was still making the rest of it's stops. I think the conductor made mention of it towards the begining of the trip.

I was actually fairly impressed since it ended up only being about a 10 min delay.

What! Doesn't everyone know MARC's Motto?

"MARC isn't happy until all of their customers aren't happy!"

My happiness with MARC started when I decided that MARC wasn't going to be part of my commute!

I was fortunate to be aiming for that 5:20 and was happy to not be standing on it.

When is MARC going to tell us what is going on with the 30 new locomotives that they have purchased? This is at the point of absurdity. I was late to work 4 out of 5 days this week. sigh...
