Today's Question of the Day: "As Seen on TV" products

I was at a drug store this week when I happened to peruse the little digital/tech section it had. As one who is easily distracted by silvery tech objects, my eye caught the Silver Sonic XL personal sound amplifier: basically a hearing aid disguised as a Bluetooth earpiece.

It, of course, had the little red "As Seen on TV" label on the packaging. And it only cost 15 bucks. I figured, eh, why not? Maybe I could use it to listen in on street corner drug deals or something. Clearly, I was not thinking rationally when I decided I had to have it.

The truth: it's a little glitchy. Plus, I've always felt silly wearing something like this on my ear.

That said, my experience here got me thinking about what would turn into today's question of the day: Have you ever bought an "As Seen on TV" product or electronic gadget? If so, which one? And what was your experience with it?

Funny you should ask this question. I own a Ped Egg...which is a $10 parmesan cheese grater in the shape of an egg...and instead of grating cheese, it's supposed to...grate (?) the soles of your feet.

Rather inefficient, and clumsy to use if you have small hands. I would have been better off, I think, purchasing an actual grater from the restaurant supply store.

RIP Billy Mays.

I have bought a few. One was the pet nail trimmer. My 75 lb lab-shepherd was not having any of it. The buzzing sound scares him out of the room. #fail
On the other hand, LOVE LOVE LOVE the Pancake Puffs! My son thinks they are the bees knees! We use any kind of batter with them, and inject them with pudding or jam. I saw the same pan in Williams-Sonoma for 2x the price I paid. I used some of the WS recipes they feature with the pan to kick things up a notch. So that was a winner.
Blendy-Pens also a winner with the kid. Walk yourself to fitness videos, never opened in 8 years. Finally donated them.

MIGHTY PUTTY. I can't lie - I'm addicted to the stuff for dealing with various projects or stupid fixes.

Fix-It...and it did not fix-it.

Snuggie. (Don't judge me! I sit under the Air Conditioning vent!)

Sure it works. I mean, it's a blanket! When you're cold any blanket is better than no blanket...

I have always wanted to buy something off a TV infomercial. I have never really found anything I needed though. I did however see a commercial for hearing aids that I am interested in.
