Looks like that hoped-for bounce from her big win in West Virginia isn't going to materialize for Hillary Clinton.
According to Gallup's daily tracking poll, which looks at the national race between the two Democratic candidates, Clinton continues to lose ground to Barack Obama. He's opened his biggest lead--nine percentage points--yet, based on interviews conducted of Democratic-leaning voters May 14-16.
Gallup suggests that media coverage positioning Obama as the likely Democratic nominee and pairing him with John McCain in news reports has contributed to the surge. Obama succeeded in displacing Clinton from the news cycle after he received an endorsement from former Sen. John Edwards Wednesday. (See the item, below, on the Clinton camp blaming the media for her current second-tier status.)
Clinton's supporters had hoped her 40-point victory in West Virginia would force a reassessment of Obama as the likely nominee. But that doesn't seem to have happened.
More fuel for Clinton's fire: Gallup's survey matching up Obama against McCain shows McCain with a three-point advantage nationally. The same poll shows Clinton leading McCain by two percentage points.
Clinton was actually leading Obama in this poll as recently as early May, at the height of the flap surrounding the Rev. Jeremiah Wright's remarks at the National Press Club in Washington.

The Gallup Poll has McCain up by 3 on the New Messiah ("Gallup's survey matching up Obama against McCain shows McCain with a three-point advantage nationally.")
A true political blog, as opposed to an Obama for president outlet, would run that Gallup poll result.

The media loves Ba-rocketman. But while he seems to be burning brightly now, his "flare" may die out before the general election. I fear a McCain presidency, and wish that the media had loved the known quantity, Hillary. She may not have the most winning personality, but she has a proven track record. That's what this country needed. :(

Hillary -
You've been tilting at windmills for weeks. Even the windmills are bored.
Take an eight year break.

Obama up, Clinton Down
But I will say it again and again.
McCain will win in November because he is the "BETTER" choice. He wants to keep America and the world SAFE, and make it "BETTER", not "BITTER"

If the media had done it's JOB all this would be very different...HRC is the only candidate that can beat McCain in November but the press has decided to play favorites and give their Messiah Obama all the coverage and no vetting whatsoever. Really fair guys!!!..I have never seen such a partial media on any subject prior to covering Obama...I tht this was a free country but the public has only seen HRC and McCain's dirty laundry. Guess Obama and Michelle have none??Yeah Wright...Considering the huge impact the media plays in all of our lives I believe this has been a huge injustice to all of America...Each candidate should have been vetted equally and had the same coverage. Not the case in this election...You never see any numbers posted unless it's a triumph for Obama......HRC 08'..The end is not here yet..

Why doesn't anybody bother pointing out that Bush's grand dad climbed into the oligarchy for his family by working AGAINST us in WW2?
Another meaningless poll--and there's real news to cover!

A fusion ticket of McCain and Hillary Clinton would be unbeatable by Obama. McCain and Hillary get along. They are friends. Even Ann Coulter said she would vote for the fusion ticket. All the women would be happy-- Dems and Rep. Consider it strongly McCain.

The latest polling of Democrats shows that 51% of Democrats think skin color the most important reason to vote for someone, versus 49% of Democrats who think that gender is the most important reason.
