The Swamp

by Mark Silva

Chris Matthews is famous for playing Hardball.

But was he playing a little softball for Barack Obama last night, with a speech at a Harvard University forum in which the MSNBC star news commentator and interviewer was pressed about perceptions of bias in the cable network's campaign coverage?

When asked by a member of the audience at an Institute of Politics forum about how he responds to claims that MSNBC officially supports Obama, the Harvard Crimson notes today, "Matthews responded with typical Hardball wit: "Well, it's not official.'''

The Crimson correspondent also reports that Matthews sang Obama's praises throughout his speech, calling the Illinois Democrat a symbol of the change that the country needs. "We need to elect a president who has been a student of the world and is a student of the world," Matthews said.

See the report in The Crimson.

Anybody who has spent any time at all with our returning military (and they're 'returning' because they were DAMAGED by roadside bombs, and whatnot) should think LONG AND HARD before supporting Sen. Obama.
He SAYS he's anti-war--NOBODY heard that speech. That speech did NOT factor into his election.
Further---he keeps VOTING for funding the damn war.
And he attacks HIllary because in the time after ANTHRAX had been mailed to Capital Hill--she voted for it during Bush's sneaky snarky last minute vote.
Shame on Obama.
HILLARY WILL END THE WAR, STOP THE CARNAGE
AND REPAIR THE V.A. AND OUR REPUTATION WORLDWIDE.
BILL CLINTON AND HILLARY ARE LOVED WORLDWIDE.

Here we have another political hack, going for the money, as a political " analyst " !! I do mean hack!! He wouldn't know George Bush from Laura Bush and he is going to offer insights, the only insights he's offering, are insights into his total lack of honesty and understanding. He should go back to politics, it is a far nobler profession than, what is passing for journalists, these days!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

Matthews is a pathetic joke.

He has no credibility left.

Matthews is nothing more than a paid shill for Obama.

Matthews boss, the CEO of General Electric which owns MSNBC is a big Obama supporter.

Obama is the biggest corporate tool in the race. He's far worse than Hillary or McCain.

Vote Smart, Vote Hillary.

Boycott GE, Boycott Oprah.

Chicago, please rid your city of the toxic political sewer in which Obama swims with your corrupt Mayor Daley, your corrupt Antoin Rezko, Auchi, Khalidi, Wm Ayers and Bernardine Dorhrn.

Why would Illinois taxpayers support domestic terrorist Wm Ayers on the public dollar at the University of Illinois?

Why would parents, students, alums supports Northwestern university allowing domestic terrorist Bernardine Dorhrn (Ayers wife) to be a faculty member at the NW FAmily Law Center?

These two terrorists should be in prison for their bombings in NY and Pentagon. They should be shunned by the community, not given prestigious positions in education where they continue to attempt to poison the minds of young people with their anti-American crap while standing on the U.S. flag.

Why does Obama hang with these people? Obama worked for Ayers for 8 years at the Chicago Annenberg Challenge.

Wise up voters. Impeach Obama. He's not worthy to be a U.S. Senator let alone President of the U.S.

Did Matthews say whether or not Obama was "making my leg tingle" at this particular time?

Spit Matthews is a lifelong Democratic operative who got a TV show on a cable news outlet that only the dumbest mankind has ever offered watch.

MSNBC: 30th place in April ratings.
FNC: Tied for sixth place in April cable ratings.
Spit Matthews' ratings: no one watches!!

and caught Howard Fineman whining to Keith Olbermann (the guy with the “Worst Person in the World” shtick) about running into Hillary Clinton spokesperson Howard Wolfson “in the spin room”.

According to Fineman, Wolfson referred to MSNBC as the “Obama channel”.

A very self-serious and defensive Howard Fineman then said:

“We are not the Obama Channel, we are reporters doing our job. If you don’t like how things are going, don’t blame the umpire—which is what people usually do when things aren’t going well.”

Part of the problem is that the media has gone from reporting political news to tryintg to affect the outcome--i.e. becoming the "umpire".

In any event, Howard Wolfson was so right, and Matthews is one of the worst offenders on MSNBC.

In an April 13 New York Times Magizine article about Mattews entitled "The Aria of Chris Matthews", the author stated:

"Matthews has called Obama “bigger than Kennedy” and compared the success of his campaign to “the New Testament.” His reviews of Obama’s speeches have been comically effusive at times, as when he described “this thrill going up my leg” after an Obama victory speech. (“Steady,” Olbermann cautioned him on the air.)

"Chris Matthews... The Worst Person in the World"

(Next to Keith Olberman)
