Rhodes Cook writes in the Wall Street Journal's Political Perceptions about the extraordinary voter turnout in primaries this year. Here is is by the numbers, from the Journal.

When all is said and done, the biggest political story of this year may be the "massive turnouts for this year's primaries,'' writes Rhodes Cook, a seasoned Washington political analyst.
"Already, 50 million ballots have been cast, 15 million more than for the entire primary season in any previous year,'' Cook writes in a column appearing at a new daily online feature of the Wall Street Journal. It's called Political Perceptions. And Cook's perception is this:
"To be sure, the Republicans have had their share of high turnouts, with the nearly 19 million primary ballots cast through this week's vote in Pennsylvania setting a new record for the GOP,'' Cook writes. "But it is the historic, impassioned Democratic race that has been driving this year's phenomenal voter interest, with turnout for the Democratic primaries fully 50 percent larger than on the Republican side.
He suggests: "The engaging Democratic contest between Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama would be described in the entertainment world as doing "boffo box office."

Strange that you would totally ignore Rush Limbaugh's "Operation Chaos" encouraging his 20 million listeners to cross over and vote for Hillary to keep the Democratic race alive into the convention. Registrars in Texas, PA and Indiana have confirmed that thousands of Republican have followed Limbaugh's advice. But don't take any wooden nickels on those votes remaining Demo in November.
