Who knew President Bush would go to New Orleans and wind up touch-dancing with a man with a frilly umbrella?
It looks like Bush was surprised himself when it happened.
Bush appeared to be cranking up to give the man one of those trademarked, hearty Bush Texas handshakes he's fond of lavishing on people.
Instead, the man with the umbrella and sash characteristic of the second line of traditional New Orleans processions grabbed the president's hand and wouldn't let go, dancing around the president who went with the flow as long as he could, then told the man "all right," did a kind of move with his hands that will remind a lot of oldsters of Jackie Gleason, then headed for the podium to be introduced by U.S. Chamber of Commerce President Tom Donohue.
A president has to maintain the dignity of the office, after all.

Yep, that's par for the course for the clown who started an unnecessasary war in Iraq, sat on his arse while NOLA flooded and presided over a tanking US economy among other things.

Imagine if LBJ had danced while our young men and women were dying in Vietnam. This president gets more disgraceul each day. Let's hope the dignity of the office can be restored next year.

I'm glad he had a good time and enjoyed himself. We did not enjoy having him here.
Lots of big promises were made that fateful night in Jackson Square, and as with politicians everywhere they were never kept. Hardly surprising since he and McCain were ff eating birthday cake for a photo op when our city was drowning.
He flies out in half an hour and good riddance to bad rubbish.

Promises for what _handouts? Why is it Gulfport Ms. is almost 100% restored and it was ground zero. Maybe cuz they picked themselves up, stopped whining and got to work. I feel real sorry for folks who lost life & loved ones, but just like in California; If you live on a fault or a side of a muddy mountain, or next to forests that burn EVERY year. You need to expect some of this. Stop whining and pick yourself up.

Gulfport and Mississippi in general is not anywhere near "100% restored". Only about 10% of the homes have been rebuilt there.
