With Romney on the McCain ticket, my enthusiasm for my Republican party goes way up. Without Romney, I can't say I'm inclined to support McCain. No candidate, current or former, has as good a resume and proven leadership ability than Romney.

A McCain/Romney ticket is perfect for the GOP. In 2004, they said a war hero is not fit to be president; anyone from Massachusettes is not fit to be president; and anyone who has ever changed his position on an issue is not fit to be president. All those characteristics that the Republican Party said disqualifies you from being president in 2004 epitomize a McCain/Romney ticket.

Mitt Romney is a great choice for VP. As a former Governor and CEO he would bring executive leadership and a strong knowledge of the economy. When you combine that with John McCain's strong foreign policy experience they would make a strong team to lead our country.

A McCain/Romney ticket would make it much easier for me to vote for McCain. Without Romney on the ticket, I'm not sure I can hold my nose long enough to cast my ballot. If McCain would also pledge to only one term, I wouldn't have to hold my nose at all.

I'll be voting for romney anyway this Nov. Either as Veep, or as a write in. We got bullied into McCain, and I won't be bullied into anyone else But Mitt. He is by far the best qualified. The personwho thinks Kerry was a 'war heor, needs tocheck out the real record of Kerry. He was no war hero.

Mitt Romney and Condoleeza Rice are the two VP choices that would make me vote for Obama.

But look at the disgrace that has befallen Barak Orama for his religious associations. The same would surely happen to Romney when the news media picks up on the racist doctrines of the Mormon Church.

It was not the LDS Church who was racist until the 70's, it was our society. P.S., the Nephites and Lamanites were decendents of the same parentage. Nephi and Lehi were brothers. If you had read the Book of Mormon, you would know that the Lamenites were not the "bad guys". In fact, much of the time the Nephties were wicked and the Lamenites were righteous. In fact, the Nephites were destroyed because they could not stay righteous, the Lamenites were and are still promised many blessings.
Like most others who do not like Romney, their dislike comes from religious intollerance (and ignorance). How sad...in our country that was founded on the desire to practice our own religions freely.
As an LDS WOMAN who grew up in Utah and now lives in Idaho, maybe you should ask ME how sexist is my religion, eh?
Perhaps you should do a little digging (in the right places) and learn about how female members of the Church at the turn of the century were extremely active in women's sufferage. You have no idea how many opportunities, education, support, praise, and respect woman in the LDS Church receive (and I am pretty sure you don't care).
If you would like me to go on, I can give you the long or short version, but, I guarantee, it will be a more informed, educated version of yours.

There are some very hot, and unstrategic, anti-intellectual emotions in these posts.
There are some smart statements too.
Romney would be an excellent compliment to McCain. Like Obama, McCain's heart is in the right place, and like Obama, he's too weak on his own when it comes to the technical points and strategy (foreign affairs, the economy, systematic overhauls, etc). It's not enough to support a candidate that pulls your moral heartstrings, like Huckabee and Obama have done for so many. We need a POTUS that's smart enough to get the help he needs in his cabinet and support staff, to run OUR NATION right. Romney's record proves he's far more of a moderate than he presented himself to be during the race, to pander to the right (a necessary exercise for any Republican hopeful, unfortunately). He's a good man, and he's got the juice to seal the race for McCain, because so many people love from different sides love either man, for different reasons ("the vet and the business" is an easy, powerful spin that jumps to mind). Comment .48 and many others are right that Coulter can be inconsistent, but her approval is a sign that McCain needs a famous face, and that's his former rival. Such a move would also prove that McCain can focus on what's best for the Nation by putting petty rivalries aside, which is a solid move. McCain and Romney would be a dream team for many reasons.
