The Swamp

by Mike Dorning

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa .— A proposal from former New York Gov. Mario Cuomo that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton each commit to pick the other as their running mate received non-committal responses from campaign surrogates appearing on the Sunday morning talk shows today.

In effect, Cuomo would like to shift the Democratic primaries into a contest over which order the two candidates would appear on the party's ticket, with both Obama and Clinton guaranteed at minimum a vice presidential nomination.

While Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell, a Clinton ally, was careful not to commit his candidate, he expressed enthusiasm for the idea on ABC's "This Week."

“I can’t speak for Senator Clinton, but I would love that,” Rendell said, later adding, “I think that this duo, regardless, is a history-making duo.”

Sen. John Kerry, an Obama ally, gave a cooler reception.

“It’s certainly one of the options that’s available to him, and that would be terrific in a lot of people’s minds. But you have to leave that up to him,” Kerry said, also on "This Week."

Clinton allies previously had advanced the idea that an ideal Democratic ticket would put Clinton at the top and Obama as her running mate, an idea that the Obama campaign rejected and interpreted as an attempt to belittle his stature.

But Cuomo argued in an opinion article published in today’s Boston Globe that “Democratic disaster” looms in November because the prolonged primary fight risks fueling antagonism between supporters of each candidate.

“Who can solve the problem?” Cuomo asked.

Obama and Clinton can - by putting aside personal irritations, and to some extent personal aspirations, and agreeing to end the hostilities and form a ticket that offers both of them, a candidate for president and a candidate for vice president who is clearly good enough to serve as president, should the occasion arise. That candidate for vice president would also have a good chance of being elected president eight years from now because neither of the two would be too old in 2016. If they are not capable of doing that, the two could announce they will complete the primary schedule and convention with the winner becoming candidate for president and the other agreeing to be a candidate for vice president, thereby mollifying to some extent the constituency of the candidate who was not chosen as the nominee for president.

Asked about the proposal, Obama spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said, "It is too early and too presumptuous to focus on the vice presidential selection. Despite his underdog status in Pennsylvania, Senator Obama is working as hard he can to win this nomination and bring about the real change America needs."

The sad thing about the democrats is that they were running a nice positive campaign, even I was enriched watching, until CLinton started losing. Then she got nasty, When Obama tried to take the high road, he was goaded by both the media and the Clinton campaign, that he was not "tough enough..." Now the media and the campaign got what they wanted. I would enjoy a McCain-Obama race. I don't want the prospect of a woman who got the nomination by default (deception and game-playing). I'd like some respect reattached to the office. and reverend wright's remarks, notwithstanding, do not reduce the respect for the office. However, hillary's lies do.

NO WAY! Hillary can do better! Thank you Hillary for making it perfectly clear! Not until Florida and Michigan is counted and the magic number of delegates have been reached by a candidate are we going to stop! This is wise because we not only have the big MO in our favor but actually so is the math. We will by the end of the primary season have the popular vote lead. We will even have the delegate lead if you count in Florida & Michigan which as some point either before or at the convention will be seated. Last we by far already have the most wins in November winnable states, which means we already have the electoral vote lead! Hillary is already the nominee no matter what others or the media say! DENVER HERE WE COME! GO HILLARY!

Given what we have now, why not let Clinton accept VP, as she is trailing behind on everything. But greed would not let her accept her result of trailing in pledged delegates, popular votes, states won so far. The Dictatorship National Party (DNC) superdelegates will cave in to the Clintons bullies and wrath that they will whimpsically pledge for her. The superdelegates are useless dictators and should be disbanded from democracy.

When someone is an admitted Liar, such as Mrs. I can tell a lie and get away with it Clinton. HOW CAN THE DESERVE TALK OF ANY PUBLIC OFFICE.''SHE IS A LIAR.

Barack will not select a vice presidential candidate whom more than 45 percent of voters
would not vote for under any circumstance.

NO! NO! NO! AND NO!
This is nothing more than away to get around OKAY'ING fixing this process to put Hillary in front. If Hillary wants VP then she and her people need to change their tone towards Obama. This includes lil Chelsea and especially Bill with his indirect remarks. Other than that maybe they'll save an admin seat.

No, no Hillary at all. As an upper middle class, educated woman, I would be willing to see my pie shrink to help the needed if Obama is the president. But I am not willing to make the scrifice if Hillary is even in sight (I would stick with the Republicans then)

Obama’s Bible Study Class

James Meeks – an Illinois state senator, pastor of one of the largest churches in the state and a declared Spiritual Adviser for Obama – came under fire for comments rebroadcast last week calling white American mayors "slave masters" and referring to black preachers and politicians who "protect" the "white man" as "house n-ggers."

"We don't have slave masters, we got mayors," Meeks said in an August 2006 sermon broadcast on a Chicago community television channel.
Aside from his senatorial duties, Meeks is an Illinois Superdelegate pledged to Obama and also presides over Salem Baptist Church, described as the largest church in Illinois.

In 2006, Meeks informed his church during a sermon he may run for Illinois governor. He was recorded telling the mostly black congregation any "white Christian" who doesn't vote for him is a "racist."

Meeks is also notorious for his strong anti-homosexual platform, although Obama is campaigning for the "gay" vote. Meeks has routinely voted against pro-homosexual legislation and has been quoted during sermons referring to same-sex attraction "an evil sickness."

Obama told the Sun-Times that he attends Meeks' Salem Baptist Church for Wednesday night Bible Study.

According to Illinois State Board of Elections records, Rezko's businesses, Rezmar Corp. and Rezko Concession, contributed to Meeks' campaign funds.

If Hillary is on the ticket in either position, I'll vote for McCain. If Obama is at the top of the ticket with any one other than a Clinton, I'd vote Democratic. I'm a registered Republican.

I do not want Hillary Clinton as a VP on a democratic ticket. I would love to see Obama pick Govoner Bill Richardson as his VP. Great ticket. A wwinner for sure.

Carol,

2nd that motion.

!GOBAMA!

No to Hillary as VP. As for me I do not want one or should I say two Clintons anywhere near the White House.

Obama as a Truthful President and Hillary as a Lying Vice President would not exactly equal the balance of powers that our Founding Fathers envisioned! LOL! President

See the future. Party at the White House. Honorary guests; Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, Rev. Wright, and Angela Davis.

Where are the portraits of George Washington, Tomas Jefferson, and Abraham Lincoln? There just wasn’t enough room, so out with the old and in with the new; Huey Newton, Stokely Carmichael, and Eldridge Cleaver are our new heroes. Why is there a black panther where the bald eagle use to stand?

"(Mario)Cuomo argued in an opinion article published in today’s Boston Globe that 'Democratic disaster' looms in November because the prolonged primary fight risks fueling antagonism between supporters of each candidate.

'Who can solve the problem?' Cuomo asked."

What a silly notion. If either Sens. Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton want to ascend to the highest office in the land, they had better have an "A Game" that allows them to solve bigger "problems" than the one the Democrats might have in November.

30% of Hillary supporters say they would never vote for Obama. Having seen how some white Democrats left the party when Harold Washington won the mayoral primary in Chicago, that's not surprising. Whites like to take their ball and go home when they lose.

But for the adults in politics, an Obama candidacy will inspire. And whether Bill and Hillary want to join the ranks of the "crybaby white Democrats" is a choice they and their supporters will have to make.

But Obama won't have a "problem." He'll have an "opportunity." And if he has an "A Game," he had better bring it. And if he does bring it, he'll win and he'll prove that bringing Hillary to the dance was not necessary.

If Obama believes VP is beneath his dignity, Actually, nothing is beneath this vile, racest's dignity. Seems like he really has no dignity. He is a street corner rabble rouser who has all, the racists with money behind him including the Madame Oprah., who incidentally, sine her big showing has not been heard from. As far as the world is concerned, we would be betteroff if he turns down VP. HE CERTAINLY WILL NOT BE PRESIDENT OF THIS COUNTRY!Xx

Coumo is so wrong.

Obama is going to be the nominee and hopefully Clinton will face that sooner than later.

She would be the wrong choice for Vice-President. As has been mentioned, she has high negatives and Republicans and independents might who are open to voting for Obama might not if she is on the ticket.

And while she claims to have been vetted, the Bosnia story shows there will be more that will come out (plus the right which hates here will bring back all the old issues and make up some new ones).

And it would also mean Bill would be part of the ticket and we've seen the damage he's done.

Hillary wants a place in the White House, even if she has to be Obama's heir to the throne. I don't like it. Something is rotten in the State of Arkansas. Obama will choose the right running mate when the time comes. OBAMA FOR AMERICA. Hip-hip-hooray!

Aren't they really just saying neither of these two has a chance anymore, so let's do what these two hate-filled people can't do and make them stop attacking each other through force.

Whatever Hillary Clinton decides ... and whether or not it's good for the Democratic Party and America - Barack Obama will lead an administration that stands tall for the concerns of the American people... including the very worthy concerns and considerations that weigh heavily on the Clinton supporter.

I'm a Liberal, and used to a Bill Clinton's supporter. But I'll vote for McCain (or any Republican for that matter) if Hillary is on the ticket in either position.

A recipe for defeat. No ticket with Obama, in any position, can win in November, absent an egregious error by McCain in choosing his Veep. There are just too many blocs that will not vote for Obama. You all know who you are, regardless of what politically correct lies you tell the pollsters. Clinton would have a slightly better chance as the nominee, but only if she chose the "right" running mate. Semper Fi USA!

The Clinton campaign is about $5 Million in debt and the people inside the campaign itsself admit that Hillary is already finished but if they quit now the Clinton family would owe a ton of money because they thought when this primary started that Hillary would have the nomination locked up by Feb 5th. Hillary should have fired her campaign manager, Mark Penn, a long time ago, just for being a dumbarse.
The people who still support Hillary with campaign donations are being used by the Clinton's to pay off the Clinton campaign debt.
The Clinton's, just like the Bush's, don't care about the "little people", it's all about them getting power, nothing more, nothing less.

Tuzla, Northern Ireland, NAFTA ... do Hillary Clinton's repeated claims that turn out to be false fit a pattern? Watch this compilation and decide for yourself.

I did not have a dificult time choosing between the candidates. Senator Clintons record on foreign policy calls, her first abortive attempt(an understatement) to singlehandedly and with extreme political tactics "fix" healthcare, and her warm embrace of PAC money from sources as damaging and diverse as the 7 biggest insurers to radical right wing hawk groups like AIPAC (two of whose top officials are currently charged with espionage against the US for illegally recieving classified US intel on Iran with the intent of using it to foment war between the US and Iran)makes her an absolutely unacceptable candidate for president, and OBVIOUSLY for vice president, as it puts her in direct line for the presidency.

She is losing badly, her lies and extremly poor Judgement (on Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, pakistan, ect.) are catching up with her. Just because SHE is willing to take own the party and hand the election to McCain in an effort to secure a shot in four years does not mean that the party should cave in to her blackmail.

The Party should ACT to take her out by an overwhelming number of super delegates speaking out for Obama, or we just ought to tough it out, and let her do her worst, because I don't think that her credibility will last much longer after her disastrous Kosovo story and her failed attempts to vilify Obamas pastor.

Obamas speech on race and on the issues surrounding his church ranks as one of the best political speechs I have heard in my entire life. That, married with his superior foreign policy judgement and his overall formidable political prowess makes him the OBVIOUS choice. Senator Clintons presence on the ticket will only HAMPER Obamas good chances of success and put a person who has already proven that she is unfit for this office in perilously close proximity of acheiving it, and ONLY becuase she is willing to do all the damage she can on the way down.

Why not let McCain run with her as VP?

No Way, why should Obama stoop so low as to pick up a liar (this stand by your man woman is a jewel) she would drag down the ticket for sure and besides where does that leave Bill to room the halls.

Pennsylvania is a great opportunity for Obama. But it won't be easy. I grew up in Philadelphia and now live in Tennessee. The Clintons did bring prosperity but they also contributed to the moral decay of our nation. In the late 90's, our kids were exposed daily to Bill Clintons oral sex affair, lies and then the Impeachment trial that went on "forever". What does Hillary have for us in the closet? Here's some Penna ideas for Obama: Show up at the baseball games. Take a boat ride across the Deleware River at Washington's Crossing. Drink a beer with a cheese steak or soft pretzel South Phila. Meet people personally on the streets and you will win their votes. GO OBAMA IN PA!!! THIS WILL BE THE KNOCK OUT PUNCH.

Hmmm ... "A Clinton in the White House" ... yeah, those '90s were a tough, tough time .... what did we DO with all that 401K money, cheap gas and world respect? What WERE we thinking?
Are you people nuts?

This is, almost, as ugly as it gets. I do not blame Michelle for saying this is America's shot for her man. If it goes to the Convention HRC will be the nominee. No doubt. The Blacks will not vote for this and neither will I. Hillary will never win and thief and liar will be added to all that hangs around her blissful/sorry neck.

HILLARY IS A LIAR!

John McCAIN AND Condoleezza Rice ARE the winning ticket!

Hillary is welcome to be sedond-in-caommand - in Bill's CLINTON FOUNDATION.

She does NOT belong in an Obama Administration dedicated to hones, transparent government. She just doesn't!

Why are the Clinton supporters that say they won't vote for Obama immediately labeled as racists? I would have supported him until what happened in South Carolina. I do not believe the Clinton's played the race card, I believe with all my heart that Obama and Ted Kennedy played the race card and layed it off on the Clinton's. It was the dirtiest political trick I ever saw!

Obama + Richardson

Richardson bolsters Obama a lot more than Hillary because a) she has high negative ratings and b) Richardson can help with the Hispanic vote and bring foreign policy experience.

There is a reason that Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter are urging republicans to vote for Hillary. Figure it out.

Actually---8 years from now will be too late for Hilary.
But not for barack.
Right now is 8 years too early for Barack, actually.
3 generations for major changes is the cycle.
We're 8 years sort.
Don't blame that on Hilary.
She can do it.
Barack needs to understand that his scorched earth political trek to the head of the ticket will indeed cost him a lot of support for the Senate seat he just might need.

Maybe what best serves the democratic process would be a better, earlier schedule for the primaries. Its rare what is happening this year but each person should have a voice. Not one so drawn out and spending so much money. I think about all the poor people in this country who if the campaigns were spending money feeding them and not on tv or radio ads or airplanes would be in a better place. That being said, no one should force the eventual presidential nominee to take on any one for vice president. That's not democracy at work and to me it would not bode well for a potential commander in chief to be railroaded into picking a rival and maybe not even a workable rival as a VP.

Sen. Clinton is nothing more than a lying, manipulative, carpetbagging con artist.
Obama can have his pick of many well qualified leaders to run as VP.
The Clinton Scam is over!

Now Obama is the racist right?

Rev. Wright is the racist right?

All you people who complain about the Rev. have you ever complained about white racism?

Black people in America have a right to be wary and suspicious of white people, the onus is on the white community to create trust between the races.

Mrs Clinton is enjoying of too much consideration as her entitlement demands since she is the "first woman" to run for president, but it does not necesary means that she meets the criteria, It is understandable that even if the chances are low for her to win the nomination, it make it legitimate for her as she can still collect money monthly and continue getting "goods" that are tax deductible, the big problem is that by staying in the race the entertainer industry economy is on stagnation as both democracts take most of the attention, people do not rent movies anymore! nobody look at other TV shows anymore, is this good for the economy?

“Why do I have to keep proving to people that I am not a liar?!” -Hillary Rodham Clinton, 2000

Truth is, Hillary Clinton lies. Although Hillary will continue to lie, thank goodness for that. She’s going to get caught; just you wait and see: http://theseedsof9-11.com

It angers me that whenever this dream ticket idea is proposed people always intend Obama to take the number two position. Why? He's in the lead on every front and in all likelihood he'll secure the nomination. This sounds very much like "Driving Miss Daisy" or in this case "Driving Mrs. Clinton". I think it's a shame that our culture time and again demands that the African American sacrifice his own ambitions and talents to preserve white domination. Shameful.

Obama 08

No Hillary Clinton.

She says she is staying in the race because all the remaining voters deserve to have their votes count - yet at the very same time she is trying to get "pledged" delegates (representing the majority of voters and states in the country) to ignore and disenfranchise their voters and switch to her.

She doesn't give a rat's butt about voters and people in this country unless she can manipulate them to get her own way. It's sad so many people are falling for it.

She is a snake.

Obama agreeing to give Hillary the VP slot is like signing his own death warrant.

Don't forget what happened to Reagan in '81... "lone nut" and would-be assassin John Hinckley Jr. was later acknowledged to be a friend of the Bush crime family!

Obama should learn the lesson of John Kennedy - never take on a VP you do not trust. According to E. Howard Hunt's deathbed confession, Johnson killed Kennedy to attain the presidency. If history repeats, covered-up history REALLY repeats.

HELLLLL NOOOOO To CLINTON
OBAMA/Jim Webb
Obama/Richardson
Obama/katherine Sebelius
BUT
OBAMA/CLINTON (HELLL NO)

I Will "NEVER" Vote for another CLINTON "EVER"
I Would GO Republican 1st!!!

No thanks. While I am definitely a Hillary supporter I'd think twice about a ticket that allowed Obama to be a heartbeat away from becoming president. America certainly does not need Obama and his racist comments concerning "typical white" people dividing this country further.

Hillary is now at lowest likeability rate of 37%. And her blind loyalty supporters still want her in the White House?? Fellow Americans, we deserve much better than that! We do not OWE the Clintons anything!! Superdelegates, please rally and embrace Senator Obama, he is ahead on all counts: Most delegates, most popular votes, and most states won!!

Hillary Clinton has divided the big states with big delegates as IMPORTANT; she has divided the smaller states as UNIMPORTANT and THEY DON'T MATTER; and divided the caucus states as UNIMPORTANT and UNDEMOCRATIC. I want a President who sees each and every state as important and democratic. A President who will work for ALL of us! Hillary is NOT that President!

Hillary can do better without Barack. Let us not be further deceive by the big crowds in his rallies predominated by young girls and boys that Barack have swindled by giving them false hope and promise of change. Hollow words. As proven by his mediocre performance in the b Senate and Illinois. Is there any legislation that he can be
claimed as beneficial to the many? Not even his so-called brilliant speech on rae. It was all with intent to cover up Rev. Wright, and to put in the front burner the issue of race - all to solidify his hold of the solid black votes. Period. End of Discussion.

Neither of these candidates belongs in the other's cabinet. She needs to fill hers up with cronies and likeminded experts. He needs to fill his up with inspirational geniuses and competents with altruistic values. O yes, he likes candor and emotional maturity. She likes power.

Only the elderly and uneducated support Hillary. Let's put someone educated in the Whitehouse. Let's vote for someone with knowledge of the Constitution in the Whitehouse. That would be Sen. Obama.
Isn't it funny that last week, all you crazies claimed Obama was a Muslim? Now, he has a Christian extremist pastor, right? I think all you old, white people are sheep, who need a white shepard to leed you to water. Can you evil oldies just die already? I know, I know, you'll move to Canada if Obama gets elected. Don't let the door hit you! Can old folks tolerate cold weather? Maybe you old people should go back to Africa when Obama gets elected. Don't forget...the first human came from the Continent of Africa. Yes, even you Gladys in Hot Springs! SHOCKING! If you can't vote for a bi-racial man....then vote for McBush- he's as white as it gets. Remember the good ole days when Cindy McCain didn't speak? She loves her country! Anorexic, botched-nose-job-having Gold Digger. Just vote for Obama and be quiet. We'll handle it from here...

I think each of the candidates should be able to pick their own choice, as to who their running mate might be! If Senator Obama wins, if he wants, there are many a capable woman in this great country of ours, from which he can choose. The same holds for Senator Clinton, if she wishes to choose an African-American, she has every right to do so. There are many qualified and talented African- American persons to choose from, if she so chooses!
I think accepting your opponent as your running mate, maybe a plan for disaster, if not mischief! Allow the process to unfold along its traditional path, with the winner with his/her options still intact. I think that would benefit all Democrats, including the Independents and cross-over Republican, who wish to be a part of history!!
SUPPORT OUR TROOPS, BRING THEM HOME, ALIVE. NOW.

Tell me...What makes BO's exaggerations, lies, deception, disingenuous intentions get swept under the rug? Geeeezz, I've read so many news sources, and can't believe all the press that would show BO to be so disingenuous, and it just won't see the light of day on national TV. He really is a glossy politician full of ambition. I wish his ambition equated with policy intellect, or hard work. HRC works her heart out.

HRC is so misunderstood it's pitiful! She is the one who has demonstrated a "working across party lines" work ethic, not your boy BO.

For every claim that gets discredited, HRC has more military personnel and Senate Rep & Dem. who corroborate her claims.

Wasn't it interesting about BO almost coming to blows with a fellow IL Senator because BO "mistakenly" voted for budget cuts that eliminated a child welfare office in the Sen. district. ooops..I hit the wrong button

BO earned the reputation of "gutless" and "absent" in the IL Sen. Sen. Ted Stevens said BO "folded like a cheap suit" in the US Sen. when the going got tough.

The reason wimpy Daschle advised BO to run for Pres. now instead of later is because "he doesn't yet have a record and people don't know who he is". His negatives would be through the roof if he had anywhere near the scrutiny HRC has received.

For every little scandal people can dredge up about HRC, rest assured, K.Starr spent $60,000,000 of taxpayer dollars trying to get the Clinton's, and the final conclusion: No other couple has been investigated so thoroughly with so little wrongdoing found. Sorry folks...

HRC knows more policy, works harder, and will actually bring more unity than BO in the congress.

Even if BO wins the nomination, and even if he were to offer the VP to HRC, I would surely hope she wouldn't take the spot. How humiliating to be in the #2 spot to someone who had to concede a debate question to her because he didn't know the answer. After she answered, he could only say, "I agree with HRC". Besides, I'd much rather see her as Sen. Maj. leader.

Hillary is not fit for either President or Vice President! My hunch is that New York will send her packing at the end of her second senate term. Hillary has succeeded ONLY in bringing out racism and begotry in this country, these are the same people who are HER supporters. Well, I say, fellow Americans, please do not allow the racists and the bigots to take control or our country!! Hillary has already proven she is a divider and not a uniter. Every state and every voter who has NOT voted for her is not important, they don't matter, and they are not real. Is this what you want to lead our country? I don't!!

Wake up democrats. If Obama becomes the party's nominee, it will be a landslide for McCain. I am a democrat supporter myself and majority of my family and friends but the moment Hillay losses the nomination, we will shift to GOP.

OBAMA IS A RACIST. OBAMA WILL NEVER WIN THE GENERAL ELECTION.

WAKE UP.

HILLARY CANNOT BE TAINTED BY OBAMA'S RACISM.
NO TO OBAMA

Wake up democrats. If Obama becomes the party's nominee, it will be a landslide for McCain. I am a democrat supporter myself and majority of my family and friends but the moment Hillary losses the nomination, we will shift to GOP.

Regardless of what the "winner" thinks, the party may nominate who it wants for President and Vice-President.

Just because it is tradition for the winner to select his running mate, doesn't mean the Party--in the interests of unity--can't change it.

We don't need Cuomo's advice. Frankly, it's ridiculous to think about quit-pro-quos and dealmaking before the primary is over.

As long as the candidates don't undermine the general election for the Democrats, let the nomination process run its natural course.

It will be so much better for the party if someone can establish an informal claim to the nomination that all agree with... For example, Obama winning PA, or Hillary winning the rest of the states by reasonable margins and coming out on top with the popular vote.

I think Obama is getting some great experience and seasoning from Bill and Hillary. Also, campaigning in all of the remaining states is good for the Democrats. McCain will not have campaigned in places like PA the way the Dems have. H. and O. are both paving the way for the general election. By supporting Hillary's right to continue to the end, Obama is keeping the door open to Hillary supporters if/when she is eliminated. It's a smart move.

As long as Hillary doesn't tear down Obama too much, she's doing good. If she can deliver her constituency to Obama in the fall, the Dems will not only win by a landslide, the coattails will be huge. A fillibuster-proof Senate is oh so tantalizing.

Hillary may be vetted, but that doesn't mean no one will be peddling or interested in the old scandals. All of it will be used again even though Starr did not find any of it sufficient to get an indictment.

The Clinton campaign should not be bringing up electability and fodder for the Republican smear machine. The Obama "material" is dwarfed by the hefty Clinton portfolio.

This Mario Cuomo's idea is extremely smart if Obama's irrogance and pompousitiy can allow him to see the light and put our party ahead of his sturbon ambition. There wouldn't have been any Obama and his current overblown ego if not for the sacrifice and hardwork of the Clintons to our party. Obama stifled a revote in MI and FL citing rules, I hope when the Superdelegates vote for Hillary citing the same rules, he should not make noise. Rule is Rule, superdelegates are not restricted to vote for whoever won most states or has most pledged delegates.

Finally, red states do not vote for democrates let alone a black man. They simply do not, therefore it is gross ignorance to think that winning red-state caucases gets Obama the normination. When was the last time GOP voters are authorized to NOMINATE a candidate for democrats? It is fool-hardy to think that Oklahoma, Kansas, Wyoming, Georgia, South Carolina, Winsconsin and all these GOP strong holds will be there for Obama in Nov-2008. Remember Harold Ford Jr in TN, the white GOP voters chose him in the primary and then in Nov.-2006, they switched to a white man. If Obama stifled voters in Michigan and Florida where is he going to get votes to win the general election? If Obama lost PA and Ohio in the primary what makes any politician think that he will win them in the general election? Does it make sense for grown men like Richardson and Leahy to prematuredly call for the shut-down of the voting process? It is not just dumb but highest hypocricy. Obama does not have substance, the record and experience to run on. One line rhetoric repeated over and over again does not win a campaign. In Nov-08, the red-state GOP voters will show their true colors. So let us be wise.

Hillary as VP you have got to be joking, O well I suppose you could lock up all the servants from Bill who will be rooming the halls. Or is Monica going to be on her staff?

For that person who would love to see Obama v McCain, I can't wait to see McCain--the war hero, medal recipient, moderate, well qualified senator, easily defeat the liberal democrat candidate. McCain will be the president for four years. Then Hillary will be the frontrunner in 2012 eventually the next president after McCain.

Come on. Obama will be the nominee but McCain will win the general election, becoming the president for the next four years. Then Hillary will be the next one for eight years. This is my forecast and it's going to happen.

Obama cannot pick Hillary simply because too much Clinton dirt will come out during a general election, making McCain the winner. For instance, the Clintons had Vince Foster murdered. When is that story going to come out? In October if Hillary is on any ticket. Let's not even ask about her taxes!

HILARRY WILL NEVAR PICK THE RACEIST OBAMA VP. HILARRY GIVES US REAL HOPE NOT JUST WORDS. GO HILARRY!

Hillary will be a good vp for Obama. But she has to stop right now. Mrs Billary
with Bill, You folks are so wonderful. White House will be happy to see you both coming back as vice-presidents.

I would like to see Obama and Clinton as president and viice-president candidates respectively in 2008 and reverse candidancy in 2012 election as compromise unless there is any challenge from any future democratic challenger.

Obama does not stand a chance. If he does win he wil be the next president that will get shot by some home brew terorist.
The Clintons... not a chance either,.. so we are stuck with an old man that will contibiue the Bush legacy.... scary to say the least.... Soon it will be 3 US for a Euro,.. ..

The Obama campaign started the mud-slinging when they accused Hillary of being racist for acknowledging LBJ's role in signing the Civil Rights Act. In spite of such dirty tactics, Hillary is still leading among women, low-income, blue-collar laborers, Catholics, Hispanics, older voters, and long-time Democrats. There is no way that Obama can win without the support of these people, and as much as he arrogantly assume that he will get their votes, he is projected to lose those votes to McCain in swing states (OH, PA, and FL). Fact.

I would like to see Obama and Clinton as president and vice-president candidates respectively in 2008 and reverse candidacy in 2012 election as compromise unless there is any challenge from any future democratic challenger.

Clinton has to stay in this race, she has to continue getting campaign donations from her supporters in order to pay off all of the self-made Clinton campaign debts.

"Cash-strapped Clinton fails to pay bills"
By: Kenneth P. Vogel- Politico
March 30, 2008 11:38 AM EST

Hillary Rodham Clinton’s cash-strapped presidential campaign has been putting off paying hundreds of bills for months — freeing up cash for critical media buys but also earning the campaign a reputation as something of a deadbeat in some small-business circles.

A pair of Ohio companies owed more than $25,000 by Clinton for staging events for her campaign are warning others in the tight-knit event production community — and anyone else who will listen — to get their cash upfront when doing business with her. Her campaign, say representatives of the two companies, has stopped returning phone calls and e-mails seeking payment of outstanding invoices. One even got no response from a certified letter.

"Is Hillary broke"?
March 29, 2008
BY MICHAEL SNEED Sun-Times Columnist

Scoop du jour? Sneed hears major money problems in the Clinton camp may soon become a coroner knocking on her campaign door.

To wit: Word is the cash feeding into Hillary Clinton's campaign coffers has not only slowed down in a big way, undisclosed campaign debts that have yet to be made public could signal the end and have insiders biting their nails.

"Hillary needs to raise money to stay alive," a top Dem source said.

No way, Obama the Anti-American cannot hold any of the position. He is never going to win. Hillary you go it alone you will win you have the momentum. Obama lacks all the quality he boasted of (unifier etc). Now he doen't have the basic qualification -- being patriotic. Hillary only for president.

I do not know how this could work. Hillary's campaign people, especially Bill, have essentially accused Obama of not being patriotic or capable of doing the job. How could she take him as VP or accept being VP to someone whom she considers thus? All that she has done is guarantee that McCain will win.

I'm not from PA but I'ed like to see Sen, Casey as the VP.

see the Philadelphia Inquirer op-ed piece today about how OBAMA (not Hillary) was the first to play the race card, and how he and his people have played it ever since.

http://www.philly.com/inquirer/opinion/20080330_Obama_was_the_first_to_play_the_race_card.html

Are those asking Senator Obama to accept vp in the race living in fantasy-land like Hillary with her delusionary sniper fire? Senator Obama who has won more states, more delegates and more of the popular votes, and has many more small donors and much more funds than Hillary should give way to to the second runner? And why? because she is a (white) woman and a Clinton whose dynastic machine has lied openly, smeared, cheated, and thrown the entire kitchen sink (and all kinds of garbage with it) at the Democractic front-runner? Is this their notion of American justice? Hillary had assured New Hampshire that Florida and Michigan would not count. New Hampshire Clinton supporters should ask for their donations to be returnd and send them to the Obama campaign instead. Hillary loans herself FIVE million of her "own money," but refuses to release her income tax returns. Hillary tells blue-collar women she understands their pain, but she and Bill are multi-millionaires and have despotic Eastern European and Middle Eastern donors they are hiding. Hillary is the laughing stock of Ireland (and Europe) for saying she had negotiated the Irish peace agreement. I am a senior citizen feminist and not African American, and with millions of older women like me we will NEVER vote for a militaristic candidate who voted for the Iraq war just to further her political ambitions. We are more likely to vote for Lady Macbeth for President of our beloved country.

Negative! Obama and the movement he has spearheaded is above all about changing the way politics is done in Washington. No more shady good ol' boy stuff. Hillary Clinton, for all of her stature and intelligence, is way to mired in the mud and slime of lobbyist and special interest influence. Obama will lead our country to a more honest sort of government in which all people have a voice in the decisions that are made, i.e. Democracy. Sorry Bill and Hillary, too much baggage.

The endorsement of Bill Richardson, and Leheay for Barack H. Obama has been nothing more than a distraction played upon by the majority of the media; to deflect attention from what was going wrong for Barack H. Obama. With Rev. Wright, Rezko etc…
Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers are going up, and her stalwart campaign workers who have shown time, and again they are able to help get her back to the top. Especially after the shameful and unpatriotic, ramblings of Barack H. Obama's Rev. Wright, which shows a grave lack of JUDGEMENT on Barack H. Obama’s part who attempted to dismiss this as an mere oversight on his part (for 20 years) especially when you have two children sitting in the pews next to, two supposedly well educated parents, while a pastor rants and raves about HATE. Independent support for Barack H. Obama is dwindling fast and it will give Hillary R. Clinton the landslide she needs and deserves. Hillary R. Clinton will truly be the Greatest Dramatic Change in our lifetime for this country and the Presidency. Hillary R. Clinton is the person to bring this country around once again to be the first to press for democracy in other countries; set goals to attain the prosperity, respect, and leadership it once had in the world.
We will not allow Hillary Clinton to be “squeezed”, out of this race.

The racism of these comments is somewhat surprising to me...albeit the ignorance of the large percentage of this country. The fear invoked in these comments, suggesting that a black president would lead to a "change" in our countries heros, like Barack has some hidden black agenda? Well, it is okay since most of the people running "the show," i.e. super delegates, etc., actually are highly intelligent, and not ignorant like the common people posting some of these comments. Thank god for our system of government, which fools the common people into thinking they actually have a choice, to make them think they affect things.... Anyway, of course Barack will not choose Hilary, after how she has been playing games, playing politics with him. She is scared and doesn't stand a chance after all her squables.

Is not over until is over... though it appears Obama has a modest lead, I hope Clinton reaps his soul thru the remaining campaign. That way, the average american will come off his/her ignorance and will not even give Obama a chance (the case for lack of experience will continue to build regardless of the media fairy tale)

Obama is not ready to lead this coutry.Hillary will bring back pride to be american.Hillary or McCian there is no other.

On March 10th, Obama's name came up in the Rezko trial for his help in crafting legislation in 2003 to establish the Illinois Health Facilities Planning Board, according to the Sun-Times' Rezko Blog. The prosecution alleges that the Planning Board was stacked by Rezko in order to steer contracts his way. A memo entered into evidence also revealed that Obama was one of eight people consulted in filling board vacancies.
(For more on the Rezko/Obama connection, read the March 2nd article in the New York Times, the investigative series in the Sun-Times, and the blog RezkoWatch.)

Hillary must get the nomination because to give to O would be sexist . She has waited since marrying Bill for the job and he promised it to her . Hillary or noone . At least if McCain wins , Hillary can RUN AGAIN IN 12 and it is more important to have Hillary in the Whitehouse than anything else that might happen to the USA . BUT if O won , she'd have to wait 8 years and by then she might be sullied by Mr.Bill's poor judgement .And all that stuff about Hillary having a sexual relationship with her Middle Eastern campaign aide is nobody's business but Hillary's (and the young aide's).Moreover , the talk about Hillary belonging to some radical sado-masochistic sect is nobody else's business either .

IF THAT LIAR HILLARY STAYS ON THE TICKET IM VOTEING FOR MCCAIN 8 YEARS OF CLINTONS IN THE WHITE HOUSE WAS MORE THAN ENOUGH, FOR THIS COUNTRY,ITS BEEN GOING DOWN HILL EVER SINCE,GOD HELP US ...SEMPER FI

Maj. leader.

TOUCHÉ!

I will not vote for any ticket with Hillary on it. Bill it talking about how good everyone had it when he was in office. Doesn't anyone see that Bill is after a 3rd term and Hillary will just be a puppet. Time for a new face. Vote Obama.

I am getting really tired of pro-Hillary slogans like 'Go girl', 'go hillary', etc. They all seem to tell her to 'go' and there is only one place for her to go right now! Home

Is It Hillary's Turn to 'Denounce and Reject' a Problematic Pastor?

UTICA -- When the Rev. William Procanick put his hand on the Bible during his sex-abuse trial in Oneida County Court earlier this year, he swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

But as the former Clinton pastor was sentenced Friday to three years in prison for inappropriately touching a 7-year-old girl at his home last March, Judge Michael L. Dwyer said Procanick sacrificed his honesty the day he testified.

"As a minister of God, you got on the stand and you lied," Dwyer told Procanick, the 54-year-old former pastor of Resurrection Assembly of God church on Kirkland Avenue.

A jury found Procanick guilty Jan. 22 of first-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child.

Look at this crap from the mcCains and the Obamas.
Shameful.

I agree with the majority of posters that Obama need not cater to the whims of Clinton supporters. The only reason the nomination process has become contentious is because Clinton refused to do what was best for the party when Obama swept threw February primaries. The Michigan and Florida delegates weren't a concern to her until she needed them to stay alive. Then she whipped the whole country into a frenzy about it with the media's help. The sooner she bows out, as gracefully as is possible for her, the sooner our country can rally behind two decent choices--McCain or Obama. Any Clinton nomination will be as tainted as George Bush's first presidency. (How this nation repeated the mistake remains a mystery.)

Oh! yes Hillary Clinton needs Barack H. Obama's permission to continue in the race for the Presidency.

Regardless of what the candidates promise, Neither candidate can or will change the system alone. Years of History have proven that.

What the American people want today is a LEADER that can keep Congress in focus and clear Congress of Lobbyist-controlled fat.

The Congressional "Good ol' Boys" who thrive on "under the table" feeding must STOP. The American people are tired of the existing "Comfort" system we have in Congress, and want a fresh change to both our Congress and our leadership.

We need a Presidential Leader who can inspire Congress to work as they were hired, and above all, to regain the World's respect of our Presidential Office.

Two primary issues are at stake: (1) We need a President who can inspire Congress to keep in focus, and (2) Promote and maintain a proper Presidential image for the rest of the world.

Obama's "young blood" has inspired the young Americans to take a more active part in our government leadership, and we need to maintain that momentum.

Our country's future growth rests with a positive participation of ALL Americans, especially the younger Americans -- and not with the current Congressional "bottomfeeders" at the helm.

Remember that when you vote....

Gov Mario's Dream ticket?

I would venture to say that would be this country's worst nightmare, having an Obama/Clinton or Clinton/Obama slate.

In any case, it would be like a 'menage au toire', with Bill poking around and meddling into all kinds of White House Affairs, no pun intended.

And is anyone really naive enough to think the fighting would end if they were elected in the GE?

Can you just imagine having Hillary, Barack and Bill all together on Pennsylvania Avenue, D.C.?

Maybe you have to have been raised on a farm to know you can't have two roosters in a hen house.

As a Canadian, I am interested in your country's political goings-on. After all, you are our largest and closest neighbour. Our economies are very tied. Our cultures are very tied. Our foreign policy (unfortunately) is often closely tied. For these reasons, a healthy and prosperous US is the ideal, desired neighbour.
Between the two Democratic nominees, I believe Obama would be the candidate most likely to ensure US prosperity. The Clintons were disastrous in terms of foreign policy. The Clintons are viewed as liars and law-breakers in the foreign community (this includes Canada). McCain is also seen as a loose-cannon on foreign policy.
Both Clinton and McCain belong to the "old guard", which was divisive and is tainted by long-entrenched partisan rivalries. A changing of the guard would be best, providing a fresh start and a fresh outlook.
A friend of mine recently married an American and moved to the US. Her husband is a young Republican. His assessment of the Democratic race was that an Obama for President ticket would be more difficult to beat. He is hoping that Clinton wins the nomination, because they are certain they can beat her.
Good luck to you all!

NO....NO..No.. and absolutely No Hillary! You should never accept VP position under a guy who always runs his campaign on carbon copies of your proposals and policies. There are list of the people Obama can pick his running mate starting from Rev. Wright, Oprah, Teddy, Chris Mathews, Olbermann or any other liberal middle aged white journalists who are delusionally in love with him thinking as if he is a God, Kerry and Richardson who are expecting something from him(but Hillary won both of their states and they may not be much help for him), and the list probably goes on. If Hillary don't get the nomination, she should rather gracefully focus on her senatorial reponsibilities and run again four years later as it appears that McCain will take over the Whitehouse in November. Hillary, you have millions and millions of loyal supporters and you are standing up fighting a close race despite the extreme negative attacks that you are enduring from the gang of liberal news/ medias. We will be with you to the end and you continue to fight with the iron fists against the Washington bullies of your party who are pressuring you to surrender. Go for it Hillary! Many of us still remember how economically prosperous our country was during the presidency of your husband and he left tons of surplus at the end of his term.
