Get ready for the next debates.

Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign said today that she has accepted ABC News' invitation for a prime-time televised debate in Philadelphia in advance of the April 22 Pennsylvania primary.

And Sen. Barack Obama's campaign said that he had agreed to both the April 16 ABC debate in Philadelphia and an April 19 CBS-sponsored debate in North Carolina.

"Hillary is prepared to show she has real solutions for the problems facing residents of the Keystone State,'' Clinton's campaign announced in a prepared statement. "Hillary hears the voices of Americans concerned about their future and is focused on providing solutions to the problems they face.''

The Pennsylvania debate will be hosted by ABC at the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday, April 16. The North Carolina debate, hosted by CBS News at a location to be determined, run by CBS and moderated by Katie Couric and Bob Schieffer.

“Sen. Obama welcomes the opportunity to openly debate Sen. Clinton on the issues important to Americans in North Carolina and Pennsylvania and hopes that she will accept these invitations as well,” said Obama campaign spokesman Bill Burton.

Okay, I just looked at Obama's just released list of earmarks from 2005-06 in detail. There is a HUGE impropriety in one of them.

$1 Million was requested for the construction of a new hospital pavilion at the University Of Chicago. The request was put in in 2006.

In 2006, the Chicago Tribune reported that Mrs. Obama’s compensation at the University of Chicago Hospital, where she is a vice president for community affairs, jumped from $121,910 in 2004, just before her husband was elected to the Senate, to $316,962 in 2005, just after he took office."

Looks like that raise was worth it. I guess Barack got his trust fund, after all.

Another glarer! Look at the $1,000,000 for St. Mary's Hospital. That is Rezko's hospital.
See ABC News for Rezko.

Jeff,

"Looks like...? I guess...?"

Hedging your bet, Jeff?

"PRESIDENT OBAMA AND PRESIDENT CLINTON SPEAKS"

DID YOU GOT THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES "SECRET METTING" REGARDING "SECRET EAVESDROPPING, WIRETAPPING OF AMERICAN CITIZENS?

NO, IT WAS SO SECRET THAT IT DIDN'T HAVE ANY SECRECY EXPLAINED OTHER THAN THAT IT WAS A SECRET "HOUSE" MEETING.

DO YOU MEAN "MAJORITY SPEAKER" NOT THE "SPEAKER" WANTED TO HAVE A SECRET MEETING FROM THE "AMERICAN PEOPLE" ON SECRET STUFF THAT NOT EVEN THE HOUSE CAN DISCUSS BECAUSE IT IS "SECRET" FROM THE AMERICAN PEOPLE?

YES, MR. PRESIDENT. YES MRS. PRESIDENT.

WOW I WONDER WHAT THE SECRET STUFF IN THE SECRET MEETING IS SO SECRET.

IS THAT CONSTITUTINAL?

IT'S A SECRET IT MUST BE!

Haven't we seen this movie before? Barack Obama has just proved his chasm-wide appeal again by conquering another Republican-red state -- Mississippi -- yet the battle for the Democratic nomination is set to stretch out on to the far horizon. As the comedian Bill Maher says, in a reference to John McCain's age, "It's a bad sign when the Democratic campaign is set to last longer than the Republican nominee." But the looming ending to this story feels flatly familiar -- like a slo-mo remake of Florida in the year 2000.

The Clintons have yet to produce eight, you got that right 8 years of tax returns, White House correspondence (proving Hillary's experience), Clinton library donations, or Clintons earmarked spending, the most prolific in the senate.

It is clear the Clintons are determined to get this nomination, any way, any how. If they have to do it by falsely claiming to have won states like Florida and Michigan -- where Obama's name wasn't even on the ballot, because there was an agreement by all the candidates to punish the states for holding early primaries -- then they will. If they have to do it by overturning the will of the Democratic electorate by appealing to the unelected super-delegates -- a group of party functionaries who seem likely to hold the balance -- they will. If they have to do it by pandering to racist sentiments -- dismissing Obama as akin to the black firebrand Jesse Jackson, or by leaking images of Obama in African tribal dress -- they will do it.

Some American liberals have been suddenly, violently disillusioned by the Clintons' tactics over the past few months. But in reality, for people who could see beyond political tribalism, the nature of the Clintons has been plain for a long time.

The idea that Clinton was "the first black president" was always implicitly racist: so screwing around, riffing well in speeches and liking fried chicken makes you black now? In fact, Bill Clinton was prepared to lash black people whenever it was politically convenient, with the quiescence of Hillary. Just after receiving the Democratic nomination for president, Governor Clinton returned to Arkansas to authorize the execution of a black man, Ricky Ray Rector, who was so profoundly mentally disabled that he told the guards to keep his last meal so he could have it tomorrow.

Attacking blacks when an election neared became a habit: in 1996, Clinton signed a package of welfare reform that effectively abolished benefits for poor women after a two-year time limit. They are disproportionately black -- and as a recession hits now, they will suffer severely.

Of course you have to make compromises to achieve power. But at some point, on some issues, you have to say no, I can't. I can't execute this mentally disabled black guy. I can't plunge millions of kids into poverty.

I can't still insist I was right to back the war in Iraq, when it has killed more than 650,000 Iraqis. The Clintons don't have that gagging reflex.

Instead, they chose to turn themselves into weathervanes, pointing whichever way the winds of mega-power blow them. This meant that on all the great issues of their time -- global warming, spiraling inequality, the foolish "war on drugs" -- the Clintons fed and fuelled the right. Hillary is following this approach to the letter. While promising in public to "take on the oil companies, the pharmaceutical companies," she is in fact shoveling more of their cash into her campaign than any other candidate, Democrat or Republican. Fortune magazine recently ran an adoring cover story calling her "the candidate of business."

Why did it take us so long to see them for what they are? Partly, it is because the Clintons were blessed with a parade of even greater grotesques as enemies. The right couldn't attack the Clintons on their genuine scandalous behavior, because they supported it all: the executions, the abolition of benefits, the crackdowns. So they contrived nonsense scandals, like Whitewater and Monicagate. Today, many of them are serving up stale sexism against Hillary: right-wing host Tucker Carlson has announced, "There's something about her that feels castrating, overbearing and scary."

And partly, it is because the nightmare of the Bush years has made even the Clinton years seem like a halcyon heyday.

Think about the symbolism for the watching world if the Clintons manage to snatch this nomination. The people in a majority of states in America will have shown they are ready to embrace a black man as president -- only for some white guys in suits to hand it to the wife of the ex-president. Their arguments in their own defense will seem feeble. The idea that Hillary is more "experienced" seems to me both anti-feminist and untrue. How does being married to a man make you "experienced" in his job? As the stand-up comedian Chris Rock said in a recent gig, "I don't get it. I've been married for 10 years -- but if my wife came out here on stage now, you wouldn't laugh."

Bill Clinton increased jail terms for drug possession, creating a situation where one in nine black men between the age of 20 and 35 is now in prison at any given time. Obama, by contrast, was arguing for the full decriminalization of marijuana as recently as 2004, and has refused to indulge in this deranged tough-on-crime escalation.

If the Clintons prevail, there will be a worse effect still: the US will be much more likely to have another Republican president. Most major polls show Obama is more likely to beat John McCain. The Republicans are desperate for a Hillary candidacy, knowing it is the one thing that can unite their base behind McCain. The far-right radio hosts Rush Limbaugh and Laura Ingraham have begged their listeners to go out and vote for her in the Democratic primaries; the National Review ran a front-page pleading, "Please vote for this woman."

Hillary would be unable to make an election issue out of McCain's greatest weakness n his support for the invasion of Iraq -- because she made the same dumb mistake. She would have to fall back on reinforcing right-wing ideas by bragging about her "toughness." The enthusiasm Obama has stirred among first-time voters would leech away.

With their latest lunge at power, the Clintons have shown us how they should be remembered when the end credits roll -- as a greasy stain on the bright blue dress of the Democratic Party.

What's with the all-cap text there, Morris? It only makes your incoherence that much louder.

The best part about this is that no one is paying attention to John W McCain and considering that he wants to "stay the course" with the disasterous Bush/Cheny policies it's not very suprising.

"Hillary is prepared to show she has real solutions for the problems facing residents of the Keystone State.''

She might have "real" solutions but she will never get them implemented with her politics of division. Her past record bears this out.

She is still using the Saul Alinski tactics that she learned while at Wellesley.
Saul Alinsky from Chicago who used tricks and smears to demolish his opponents."Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it and polarize it." This is what Hillary gained from studying Alinsky. She has never changed. Now Barack Obama is the "target." Just look at the few comments about demonizing Obama already put up here. What about the issues? Hillary has her share of ear marks for the state of New York. Why not focus on them?

Please no more Clinton polarization and shenanigans in our White House

Earmarks anyone?
An analysis by the government watchdog group Citizens Against Government Waste found that of all the presidential candidates serving in Congress, Hillary Clinton had the most earmarks.
(CNSNews.com) - Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) secured more than $1 million in federal funding last year for a Harlem-based non-profit whose leader gave her presidential campaign a major endorsement last weekend.

Martha with such long wind bag rhetoric and mis guided facts and conclusions perhaps you should get your own site. BLA BLA BLA ! I could debate each point but they are so out there it is not worth my nor the other posters time.

I think we are seeing the formation of a new group among the Democrats. I call them the Neo-Dems. I'm not sure I like them. Here's the difference: Hillary supporters know that the GOP is the enemy, and that they will have no problem supporting Obama should he become our nominee.
Obama supporters have no qualms saying they would vote to extend Bush's term another four years if Hillary wins the nomination.

Oh, and before anyone tries to spin one of Hillary's comments, she NEVER said she would vote for McCain.
Michelle Obama, on the other hand, says she will have to think about it.

"Oh, and before anyone tries to spin one of Hillary's comments, she NEVER said she would vote for McCain.
Michelle Obama, on the other hand, says she will have to think about it."

The Facts:
We all know she wouldn't vote for a Republican. When pressed on that comment, Mrs. Obama later acknowledged that "as a good Democrat, she would need to support Mrs. Clinton if she were the nominee." ABC News

Bruce:
Michelle is not the candidate- and maybe she would have to think about it if the unscrupulous Clinton's were able to do some back room deal to obtain the nomination for her.
Will Bill vote for Obama? That is a better question since he sees fit to hang out with George Herbert Bush.

We do know that Hillary gave McCain a big boost in his campaign by saying he had passed "the threshold" of being Commander in Chief ready and Barack has "given a speech."
Pretty ugly. I know I won't vote for her in any case.

No more Clintons in the White House- after all you can't impeach a "First Husband."

I will support the Democratic nominee wether he/she is black or white. I'm a Democrat that is opposed to the GOP. Is there anyone in the Obama camp that will make that same pledge, or are you all neo-dems like Luke here?

Don't worry dems, after The Civil War is over between Hillary and Obama, the dem party will be torn to shreds and nothing left of it--but in-fighting.

Carl Rove couldn't have done a better job.

Paulo

Bruce Y,

I will vote for either.

Also, they should not be running mates.

Bruce Y: The labels don't fit. I am an Independent.

I vote for the person who I think will best put my country back on the right track. Certainly if Russ Limbaugh could somehow pick the Democratic nominee- I would not vote for him/her.

Hillary Clinton voted to authorize George Bush to go to war because her advisors told her that it was politically expedient to do so. I believe this disqualifies her from my consideration.
At least McCain was a believer- albeit a mistaken one.

Barack Obama 2008.

Let's hope the moderator asks both candidates what they think of the legacy of King Hussein of Jordan:

http://acropolisreview.com/2008/03/king-hussein-of-jordan-barack-hussein.html

Hilary wants delegates seated from Florida and Michigan so as not to disenfranchise the voters, If she is sincere then she should explain how that solves for the voters who did not vote. Is she concerned about the people or herself, pathetic.

"...The State Department called this reissue of the 13-year-old order completely routine. But the language recalls the preamble to the invasion of Iraq. So with the fifth anniversary of that war at hand, the coincidence of the order's renewal drew notice.

In the same week, Admiral William Fallon abruptly resigned as chief of the U.S. Central Command, which runs American military operations in the Middle East. It was widely known that Fallon opposed military confrontation with Iran and regarded the Bush administration's policy posture against Iran as aggressive and inadvisable.

Now this 40-year veteran is gone. And while his superiors at the Pentagon were at pains to deny any move against Iran was imminent, the impetus for the question was obvious. Add to all this the plan for Vice President Dick Cheney, the leading Iran hawk in the administration, to travel to the region to visit, among other places, Oman, the forward logistics hub for U.S. operations in the theater.

It may be an illusion, but all these signs point in one direction. Could the lame duck president who has been well below 40 percent approval for two years be planning a major rearranging of the landscape? Might he attempt to re-seize the initiative in his final months by striking Iran? "

It's excellent they will debate again after all the messes of recent weeks. Obama can make her explain these on camera. And her tax returns will have been released the day before. This could be a bloodbath. Expect no press about this issues. A lot on the bloodbath.

Anatomy of a leak: What we know about NAFTA-gate
http://www.cbc.ca/news/reportsfromabroad/macdonald/20080310.html
CBC Canada. March 10, 2008
When a group of reporters from CTV quizzed Brodie about what such declarations meant to Canada, he apparently replied that Ottawa was not worried. Hillary Clinton's people had been in touch, he said, reassuring Canadian officials that they should not take such campaign rhetoric seriously. A CTV reporter privy to the conversation would later publicly confirm what Brodie said.

But an offhand remark by a political staffer is just a starting point so CTV brought Tom Clark, the network's bureau chief in Washington, into the picture. Clark is known to be on friendly terms with ambassador Wilson.

In short order, Clark contacted Wilson, putting to him the tip from Ottawa. We know this because the embassy later confirmed the call. The actual conversation between the two men remains a private discussion, but by the time Clark went to air Wednesday night, his angle was no longer Clinton. It was Obama.

An embassy official acknowledged that diplomats here in the U.S. do reach out to campaign advisers, but stressed that at no time had any adviser suggested Barack Obama was misleading voters about his true intentions.

There was no mention, of course, about ambassador Michael Wilson's chat with the CTV's Tom Clark.

And in any event, Hillary Clinton and Republican John McCain weren't listening. Both of them latched onto the hypocrisy angle and rode it hard.

In the days to come, the problem became worse for Obama. CTV, citing sources "at the highest level of the Canadian government," changed its story, naming Goolsbee as the Obama adviser, but substituting Chicago Consul General Georges Rioux as the Canadian contact.

As the questions continued, two news organizations wrote that Ian Brodie, Harper's chief of staff, had been CTV's original tipster. The stories generated a storm in the House of Commons, but what really interested the Obama campaign was how the story had so quickly morphed from a tip about Clinton to a story about Obama.

I asked Sally Southey, the Canadian embassy's spokeswoman in Washington, how it could be that CTV began with a tip about Clinton's campaign, but after a conversation with Michael Wilson, wound up reporting a distorted version of an Obama adviser's remarks.

That, she said, is a good question. But, she added: "All conversations the ambassador has on background with journalists are private."

BRUCE: Of course, I make the pledge. I'm an Obama supporter who will vote for Hillary. (Until she revealed her racism, I would have been happy to do it. Now, I will vote for her, even campaign for her, but I won't like. it. I'll take my political medicine to beat dangerous John McCain.)

And by the way, I am a Black woman, and a feminist, who thinks Hillary's racism is disgusting and that she and Bill Clinton exploited the Black vote for years and have now totally betrayed us in every way. However, I will still vote for a democrat because I believe this war is destroying our country. So shut up.

Statistically, Obama supporters are MORE willing to support Hillary than Hillary supporters are willing to support Obama, IN EVERY SURVEY. That's because many Hillary suporters wouldn't vote for a Black man even if he actually WERE the second coming of Jesus Christ.

Please note that Obama has not said ONE SEXIST THING ABOUT HILLARY. NOT ONE! Hillary insults Black voters every time she says we only vote for Obama because he's Black instead of recognizing that we may actually believe he's the better candidate. As a Black woman voter, I've voted for white men since I was old enough to vote, just like million of other African Americans. Many white voters haven't passed the test of being able to vote for a strong candidate of a different race. I have. Stop being such a moron, Bruce. Face the reality of the Hillaracists.

Bruce:

I am an Obama supporter, and I will vote for Hillary.

And any Hillary or Barack supporter who says they either will stay home of vote for McCain, I have two words for you:

Supreme Court.

Do you want John McCain deciding who the next justices will be?

http://themoderatevoice.com/media/talk-radio/rush-limbaugh/18313/bill-clinton-went-on-rush-limbaughs-show-day-of-texas-primary/

THANKS KRAVITZ!!! This is the reality of the Clintons. Nothing but RACISM coming from that camp. And they are using it because it WORKS in America. White America is going to have to step up and shut them down. All the hopes of Dr. King's DREAM is riding on their decision.

prediction: the main motif of the debate will be HRC AND the moderators - who are of dubious priorities - trying to corner Barack Obama into repudiating, then denouncing, then rejecting, then projectile vomiting about controversial statements from Jeremiah Wright.

DON'T BE DUPED!!!

Large numbers of Republicans have been voting for Barack Obama in the DEMOCRATIC primaries, and caucuses. Because they feel he would be a weaker opponent against John McCain. And because they feel that a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket would be unbeatable. And also because with a Clinton and Obama ticket you are almost 100% certain to get quality, affordable universal health care very soon.

But first, all of you have to make certain that Hillary Clinton takes the democratic nomination and then the Whitehouse. NOW! is the time. THIS! is the moment you have all been working, and waiting for. You can do this America. “Carpe diem” (harvest the day).

I think Hillary Clinton see’s a beautiful world of plenty, and comfort for all. She is a woman, and a mother. And it’s time America. Do this for your-self, and your children’s future. You will have to work together on this and be aggressive, relentless, and creative. Americans face an even worse catastrophe ahead than the one you are living through now.

You see, the medical and insurance industry mostly support the republicans with the money they ripped off from you. And they don’t want you to have quality, affordable universal health care. They want to be able to continue to rip you off, and kill you and your children by continuing to deny you life saving medical care that you have already paid for. So they can continue to make more immoral profits for them-self.

Hillary Clinton has actually won by much larger margins than the vote totals showed. And lost by much smaller vote margins than the vote totals showed. Her delegate count is actually much higher than it shows. And higher than Obama’s. HILLARY CLINTON IS ALREADY THE TRUE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!

As much as 30% of Obama's primary, and caucus votes are Republicans trying to choose the weakest democratic candidate for McCain to run against. These Republicans have been gaming the caucuses where it is easier to vote cheat. This is why Obama has not been able to win the BIG! states primaries. Even with Republican vote cheating help.

Hillary Clinton has been out manned, out gunned, and out spent 2 and 3 to 1. Yet Obama has only been able to manage a very tenuous, and questionable tie with Hillary Clinton.

If Obama is the democratic nominee for the national election in November he will be slaughtered. Because the Republican vote cheating help will suddenly evaporate. All of this vote fraud and republican manipulation has made Obama falsely look like a much stronger candidate than he really is. YOUNG PEOPLE. DON’T BE DUPED! Think about it. You have the most to lose.

The democratic party needs to fix this outrage. I suggest a Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama ticket now! Everyone needs to throw all your support to Hillary Clinton NOW! So you can end this outrage against YOU the voter, and against democracy.

I think Barack Obama has a once in a life time chance to make the ultimate historic gesture for unity, and change in America by accepting Hillary Clinton’s offer as running mate. Such an act now would for ever seal Barack Obama’s place at the top of the list of Americas all time great leaders, and unifiers for all of history. But the time to act is soon.

The democratic party, and the super-delegates have a decision to make. Are the democrats, and the democratic party going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee to fight for the American people. Or are the republicans going to choose the DEMOCRATIC party nominee through vote fraud, and gaming the DEMOCRATIC party primaries, and caucuses.

Fortunately the Clinton’s have been able to hold on against this fraudulent outrage with those repeated dramatic comebacks of Hillary Clinton’s. Only the Clinton’s are that resourceful, and strong. Hillary Clinton is your NOMINEE. They are the best I have ever seen.

“This is not a game” (Hillary Clinton)

Sincerely

jacksmith...

Thank you. I respect and empathize with your support for Obama. He would be my first pick too, but I really think Hill has a better chance against the republican slime machine. She has beaten them before. I also strongly disagree with the accusation that ANY of Bill or Hillary's comments are racist.
All I ask is that the HATRED stops.

http://www.peterfpaul.com/2008/02/21/bills-fraud-trial-delayed-hillary-says-process-server-must-catch-her-for-deposition/

The Clinton's were only letting the media know of her appearances 1 day in advance in PA. This is because she is "dodging" process servers who are serving her with a deposition subpoena to appear in court on April 25, 2008, for the Clinton Finance Fraud trail...along with none other than Gov. Ed Rendell. They make a fine pair!!

Because of the debate, they will now know where to find Senator Clinton!!

My fellow Americans after reading all comments written by voters and analyzing the biases on both sides, I must agree with both. However, logically speaking when its time to vote only two issues should be considered when we Americans elect our next leader. Which is most capable and which has the most experience. Before I inject my choice with this writing, I would like to tell a brief personal life's story of my own. While being in the sales industry for 50 years (with many different products), I recall the first days, weeks, and months of learning experience being absorbed. Some things I retained sooner and longer than others but it was mostly feeling comfortable with the entire process by "observing" my trainer. Little by Little I injected my efforts and personality into the process until I felt and performed as well as my trainer. My point here is this; when a new person came aboard with little or no experience to sell that particular product He/She had to start where I did, at the beginning. That is my story and thats the logic I use when thinking of who is best qualified to lead this country. Hillary Clinton has been demeaned and discounted because her experience as First Lady does not qualify her for having experience sufficient to be President. 8 years rubbing elbows with and "observing" World business, qualifies Her!
