The Republican National Committee wants Sen. Barack Obama to know that if he thinks he's seen the epitome of opposition research from the Clinton campaign, he's sorely mistaken.
At his press conference this morning in Chicago before heading back out on the campaign trail, Obama said:
''I have to just respond by saying that the Clinton research operation is about as good as anybody's out there. I assure you that having engaged in a contest against them for the last year that they've pulled out all the stops.”
To which RNC spokesman Alex Conant responded thusly:
"With all due respect to the Clinton 'machine', should Barack Obama win the nomination, I'm sure Republicans will have plenty of arguments to level against the Senate's 'most liberal' member."
The "most liberal" member was a jab at Obama based on a recent National Journal story we reported on here in The Swamp in which the Washington-based publication labeled the senator from Illinois the Senate's utmost liberal in 2007 based on his voting record.
Should he become the nominee, Obama may want to look into getting one of those asbestos suits Sen. Hillary Clinton has boasted of having.

The RNC has too many problems with its own "machine" to be worrying about anyone outside of the party at this point. The GOP nominee will have to combat his own party before any Rovian attack cycle can begin. You've already heard Coulter (the patron saint of GOP mud slinging) avowing to vote against her own party. If the GOP wants to lauch an effective counter attack, they must first define their own party. If I were Obama, this "threat" would be likened to a gnat... and a small gnat, at best.

Obama cant withstand the RNC. He would lose! While an aide to Sen. Barack Obama, who spoke at a town-hall meeting yesterday in Los Angeles, tried to explain away the altered policy changes, analysts excused him, noting the passage of time and less-liberal competition.Barack Obama, senatorial candidate 04, is very different from presidential candidate of 08.Videotapes of debates and speeches obtained by Washington Times shows Obama took positions during his Senate campaign on nearly a half-dozen issues ranging from the Cuba embargo to health care for illegal aliens that conflict with statements during his run for the White House. For example, in MSNBC's Oct. 30 presidential debate, Mr. Obama hesitantly raised his hand and joined with most of his Democratic rivals to declare he opposed decriminalizing marijuana But as a U.S. Senate candidate, Mr. Obama told ILL college students January he supported eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana use or possession. When confronted with the statements on the video, Obama's campaign offered two explanations said the candidate had "always" supported decriminalizing marijuana, suggesting that his 2004 statement was correct. Then after The Times posted copies of the video on its Web site, www.washingtontimes.com, yesterday, his campaign reversed course and declared he does not support eliminating criminal penalties for marijuana possession and use. What is
Senator Obama going to say to republicans when asked why he favors granting drivers' licenses to illegal immigrants as Obama has admitted twice in debates? About Obama's present position that undocumented workers will not be covered in his healthcare proposal, yet when he was running for the Senate he said that children of undocumented workers should get the same healthcare benefits that citizens get? when they begin to ask him about negotiating in unstructured summits with the leaders of Iran, North Korea and Cuba without preconditions? What will Senator Obama say when Senator McCain asks him why he said in 2004 that he did not know how he would have voted on the Iraq war authorization and that his view of the Iraq war was not different from President Bush's? What will Senator Obama say when Senator McCain compares Obama's votes to fully fund the Iraq War in the Senate to Obama's rhetorical opposition to that war? What is Senator Obama going to say when Senator McCain questions Obama's claim to be "the most qualified person in America to conduct the foreign policy of the United States"? What is Senator Obama going to say when Senator McCain says that Obama is not one of the most qualified members of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee to lead this country in today's dangerous world but instead one of the most absent? Senator Obama has not conducted a single policy hearing as chairman of the subcommittee on European Affairs of the Foreign Relations Committee?

Good, let Obama have it. He has been let off easy thus far because no one wants to be accused of being racist. That's all it is. Everybody especially Clinton's camp are afraid of the racist card that he will use, so better be ready for it. He has many skeltons in his closets so lets really educate the voters about his background. Go to it RNC.
Posted by: quills | February 6, 2008 3:15 PM
And that will make me more willing to vote Republican why, exactly? With all due respect to Alex Conant, maybe he should spend less time trying to be a jerk and more time doing something constructive. Or the GOP can keep this attitude of theirs, and lose in November. Either way America wins.
Posted by: Andy | February 6, 2008 3:16 PM
Democrats play nice together then the RNC start the slandering spin machine. Oh, it's a wonder why they are losing control.

Posted by: CiCi | February 6, 2008 3:19 PM
The Republicans must be pretty scared of this guy to start threatening him before they even have a nominee...Do they think Obama will become frightened and withdraw from the race?
I am sure the Republicans will do whatever they can to win, but in the end they cannot overcome the negative sentiment that Bush has caused during the last 8 years.
Posted by: Parker L. | February 6, 2008 3:21 PM
For John E., Obama better be scared. He is the most liberal member including ted kennedy. We're not going to let obama spread his liberalness. I think he and you should be scared John!!! The republicans will only spread the truth which people need to hear!

For the good of America, right? I guess the RNC flag is different from the one I proudly fly.
Posted by: Patriot | February 6, 2008 3:25 PM
Well, the results of compassionate conservatism speak for themselves. Obama doesn't shrink from labels by trying to look like the other side only nicer. Time to stand up for what we believe proudly, and have a debate about which way the country wants to go.
The benefit of having Obama as our nominee is that we will have that debate without turning off legions of voters. It will take all of us to solve our problems, not just the "energized base" plus some swing voters.
Posted by: Jennifer | February 6, 2008 3:25 PM
You sound like a child.
McCain will not be running the negative style campaigns of old. If Obama manages to beat Hillary, she will face an experienced, charismatic leader, that is everything Obama talks about being. He is the change, he is the great uniter. Being the most liberal member of senate sounds like dividing to me.
People talk about voting for these democrats now, but when election day approaches, so to will the realization that the only new thing they bring to the table is a wonderful change, breaking the trend of all rich white male executives, but nothing real. I am waiting for a women who qualifies on more than just being a good president's wife. And once Obama starts showing me true bipartisan-ship that he talks about, that McCain shows, he too could have my vote.
But not today, this is McCain's today.

Okay, but they will have a bigger heyday with Hillary if she is the nominee. I certainly hope one of them kicks the GOP's butt ... at this point I still feel Obama has a better shot.
Posted by: Chris | February 6, 2008 3:31 PM
Obama supporters are 1diots. A focus group of Democrats were asked why they are supporting Obama and none of them had an answer regarding policies or accomplishments, it was all about the hype. What a joke.
Obama hasn't changed a thing about Illinois politics. He hasn't changed a thing about Washington politics. The only thing he will change is our standing in the world as a superpower if he is elected president.
I am not sure why Democrats think that putting the most liberal senator in Congress up as their nominee will lead to success in November. John Kerry was the most liberal senator the last election and looked at how that worked out for you guys...
It doesn't matter to me, because it is looking more and more like a Republican is going to continue to hold the office of President! Which is great news!
Posted by: Siouxperman | February 6, 2008 3:33 PM
So Obama is the "most liberal"?? More liberal than Russ Feingold, Ted Kennedy or Bernie Sanders, the independent Socialist?? What do they use to figure that out??
Besides, in 2004, this is the same magazine that said John Kerry was the most liberal Senator!!
Posted by: BobinATL | February 6, 2008 3:33 PM
Oh, brother, the GOP always labels their Democratic opponent "the most liberal" candidate. It's just an empty label the GOPers want to stick to Obama...or Clinton...or anyone else. Don't let it scare you.

The Republican National Committee must be very proud of itself for such a blatant admission that for them the election - not to mention the leadership of our country - is primarily about "opposition research" rather than engaging people on issues that matter to them.
Posted by: deb | February 6, 2008 3:43 PM
Democrats should take these threats seriously.
Somebody mentioned Willie Horton. That's right, Dukakis went down in a ball of flames due to the Republican attack machine.
Then there was Bill Clinton. He snuck in there. And then Clinton showed the RNC what a true political master is, getting re-elected.
Gore and Kerry wilted on the national stage. I am still amazed on how Kerry managed to lose to Bush.
Obama? The Dems are not vetting him enough. If he gets the nomination, "Yes We Can" will not be enough to overcome the onslaught.

Hey, if the Republicans want to play dirty, it can go both ways:
Keating 5.
Covering up your homewrecking trophy wife's illegal pill popping and theft.
Proclaiming yourself a campaign finance "reformer" but having more lobbyists working on your campaign than any other candidate.
Doing political favors for telecom lobbyists.
If the Republicans want a gutter brawl, they picked the wrong candidate.

Hi Bickering Babies, I'd like to address the article. The real question is 'why' they made this statement? What questions r they trying to raise in the mind of voters? Why warn that they plan to be tough on Obama? On the surface it looks like the RNC would like to get Hillary. I think both DEM candidates would be in for a fight either way ... but the RNC hinting they can 'punch' Obama only reveals fear .. If you think otherwise let me know

Jerry - Good to see your copy AND paste functions work well. Thanks buddy.
Brian - What does the GOP know of truth?
Bert - Maybe it is time to start looking forward about issues that matter. There is no point in trying to force your personal or religious opinion on people. Go beat on another drum, the one your playing is busted.
Siouxperman - Learn to spell before you start insulting people's intelligence. Also, Did you see the Democratic turnout for the 2/5/08 primary?
All - Am I the only one sick of hearing the liberal vs. conservative argument. I feel like many American have gotten lazy and decided it is better to point fingers than take action. Is there anything wrong with being moderate? Taking a step back, looking at the fact and making and educated decision? That is what a good leader needs to do. Sitting on party lines and increasing the divide of the country is not a good plan the the United States.

Jim and BobinATL, The rating http://nj.nationaljournal.com/voteratings/ is based on voting records. If you have another way of determining how liberal your candidate is please let us all know. Voting records are all that count in the end. The proof is in the numbers. Smoke and mirrors might work in primaries but won't work in the general election when the republican candidate will nail Obama with it.
Most Americans aren't far left liberals and when Obama is exposed by Republicans as the far left liberal he really is, he will not be elected.
America will vote for a tested moderate American war hero over a Code Pink/Daily Kos pandering antiwar left wing liberal any day of the week!
Posted by: Siouxperman | February 6, 2008 3:59 PM
The RNC is obviously out of its mind. Go ahead and attack Obama, and watch your own words blow up in your faces. He has electrified the youth with the possibility of change, and even given older voters the idea that things could get better.
When the RNC starts up with "Liberal" this and that, they will only expose their own arrogance and ignorance.
A young and educated freshman Senator against McCain, a 70 year old relic of the past still going on about Regan, or Huckabilly, a loose cannon-former preacher and overall bully to those in his own party who is completely pandering to his Evangelical Terrorist bretheren. Here is a group of people who admit that they want to take over the government to impose their own religious beliefs on the population of this county. Forget the seperation of Church and State, they want to impose Cristian Law on us. Seems to me that they want to do what the Taliban had done in Afghanistan, but through politics and not guns and bombs. Forget the Freedom of Religon, when Evangelicals get their way. They will destroy this country one vote at a time until they have the ability to tear up the US Constitution and declare us a secular nation, under one god, THEIRS! Dont believe me, watch the movie "Jesus Camp" which is on cable here and there and you will see their intentions for yourself.
The RNC is 1% Evil, and 99% Hot Gas.
Go after Obama on his record, and watch McCains or Hukkulberries past jump up and bite them right where it counts.
The RNC's time is past. Threats and Smoke will not work after 8 years of Republican leadership that has sunk this county into the bowels of Bankruptcy and War.
Runaway spending, deficits, a massive government that looks into the actions of every citizen for acts of treason. Our standing and image in the world is lower than Bush's IQ. Go ahead RNC, keep up the old ways and let the new ways run you down and put you out of the race.
Posted by: Eric | February 6, 2008 4:00 PM
Obama appeals to young and old people. Why?
The old people are at the end of their lives. They can afford to take lots of risk.
The young people knows nothing. They fall for the over promise of "hope".
If Obama really becomes the president. Only 2 things can happen.
First, nothing happens. The promise of hope is one thing and to have the ability to actually bring changes is entirely different. Let's face it, changes are made through deals behind the door. Public opinions do not matter (look at the Bush administration).
Second, the US of A becomes a mess....
It is good to hope, but do not leave reality....
Posted by: clear mind | February 6, 2008 4:02 PM
Those types of tactics are like preaching to the choir.
Most well educated individuals can make up their own mind.
Things like this only play well in the deep south, where sound bites about "dem blacks" can go a long way.
I'd like to see how the RCN will defend McCain's unbending stance on Iraq, or how he used to be the party maverick, only to waffle on his views to appease their nutcase base.
Posted by: Tony | February 6, 2008 4:03 PM
The Republican National Committee will use scare tactics to keep hold on power. That's what they want, ultimate power and if people give in, the GOP will succeed. Lets show the GOP that Americans aren't scared. The Republican party plays into the fears and feeds on it. The Republicans gave us Bush. Do we have to go for a third Bush term? Look at John McCain, he has skeleton closets. There's more to him than being a darling to the media.

I am splitting my sides laughing at CiCi who talked about corrupt Democrats. Is he kidding with all the news that has come out against republican politicians just in the past year? "I think the best response is: The Republicans twice nominated George W. Bush, and believe he is a great President."

Opposition research won't trump discussing real issues such as health care. I like to think that a majority of us are smarter than that.

The OB 'movement' looks, sounds and is nothing more than a high school Presidental election. Base your decision on 'like ability', the 'clique'.
Find out who 'recruited' BO to come to Chicago and you will find the answer to who he really is. He didn't do it out of the kindness of his heart. His acceptance of the position allowed him to play with big Chicago players. The 'public service' he was pursuing was an Elected Office. Who did recruit him?
If you don't think the RNC can plant the seeds of doubt you haven't been voting long.
I won't bother looking. The RNC will tell all. Then what? He is going to cry 'racist foul'?

Folks, please ignore Jerry. He uses different names and posts the same Obama-bashing garbage every day!
RNC -- Bring it on! And if readers want to learn more about the substance Obama brings, see below:
On Legislative Experience:
Senator Clinton, who has served only one full term (6yrs.), and another year campaigning, has managed to author and pass into law, (20) TWENTY pieces of legislation in her first six years.
In all, since he entered the U.S. Senate in 2004, Senator Obama has written 890 bills and co-sponsored another 1096. Over a THOUSAND folks!
These bills can be found on the website of the Library of Congress (www.thomas.loc.gov), but to save you trouble, I'll post them here for you.
CLINTON:
1. Establish the Kate Mullany National Historic Site.
2. Support the goals and ideals of Better Hearing and Speech Month.
3. Recognize the Ellis Island Medal of Honor.
4. Name courthouse after Thurgood Marshall.
5. Name courthouse after James L. Watson.
6. Name post office after Jonn A. O'Shea.
7. Designate Aug. 7, 2003, as National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
8. Support the goals and ideals of National Purple Heart Recognition Day.
9. Honor the life and legacy of Alexander Hamilton on the bicentennial of his death.
10. Congratulate the Syracuse Univ. Orange Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
11. Congratulate the Le Moyne College Dolphins Men's Lacrosse Team on winning the championship.
12. Establish the 225th Anniversary of the American Revolution Commemorative Program.
13. Name post office after Sergeant Riayan A. Tejeda.
14. Honor Shirley Chisholm for her service to the nation and express condolences on her death.
15. Honor John J. Downing, Brian Fahey, and Harry Ford, firefighters who lost their lives on duty. Only five of Clinton's bills are, more substantive. 16. Extend period of unemployment assistance to victims of 9/11.
17. Pay for city projects in response to 9/11
18. Assist landmine victims in other countries.
19. Assist family caregivers in accessing affordable respite care.
20. Designate part of the National Forest System in Puerto Rico as protected in the wilderness preservation system.
OBAMA:
Now, I would post those of Obama's, but the list is too substantive, so I'll mainly categorize.
During the first years of his elected service he sponsored over 820 bills.
He introduced:
233 regarding healthcare reform,
125 on poverty and public assistance,
112 crime fighting bills,
97 economic bills,
60 human rights and anti-discrimination bills,
21 ethics reform bills,
15 gun control,
6 veterans affairs and many others.
His first year in the U.S. Senate, he authored 152 bills and co-sponsored another 427. These included
**the Coburn-Obama Government Transparency Act of 2006 (became law),
**The Lugar-Obama Nuclear Non-proliferation and Conventional Weapons Threat Reduction Act, (became law),
**The Comprehensive Immigration Reform Act, passed the Senate,
**The 2007 Government Ethics Bill, (became law),
**The Protection Against Excessive Executive Compensation Bill, (In committee), and many more.
An impressive, substantive record, for someone who supposedly has no record or experience. . . .
Go Obama 2008!

Obama is the most liberal member? This guy... http://www.sauerbergforussenate.com/ says it's Durbin. I'lll bet there is a publication somewhere for each Democrat that labels them the most liberal member of congress. That way the republicans have somethign to pull out.
Of course that is if you think leberal is a bad thing. To me it means progressive and forward thinking. Only the ditto heads and the deadender 30% crowd view it as a bad thing, even when they have no idea how to properly define it.
Posted by: Mark | February 6, 2008 4:36 PM
Republicans are the answer, of course! Look at what they've done: eliminate abortion, reduce the size of government, create fiscally conservative policies, not police the world. Right? I mean, isn't that why we vote Republican?
Posted by: live free or die! | February 6, 2008 4:37 PM
The GOP so wants Hillary to be the next president. The party realizes that McCain is a nonstarter as a candidate. He got 1% of the vote in West Virgina and did poorly in the other southern state. He can't win. With Hillary in the White House, the GOP will be re-energized. That won't be the case if Obama is elected.

"The most liberal member" as if that's a problem? Jesus was a liberal. Why do they hate what he taught?
So now they want to turn on the Republican name calling, smear machine. Anything to avoid having to talk about the issues since they tend to be very week on issues and results. The country is tired of the name calling and hatred of fellow American by Republicans.

There is nothing worng with fully vetting a candidate liek GOP will if Obama is chosen. Since noone in the press seems to be interested into looking into Obama then I guess the GOP will have to do it. Lets see there is Rezko, unethical use of his PAC Hopefund, race baiting in SC, cocaine use, and worst of all explain his ties to the corruption in Cook COunty and IL. If he survives Hillary that is. Form what I saw yesterday I am not sure tha he can.

He's not the most liberal. As was pointed out above, the National Journal called Kerry and Edwards the most liberal Senators four years ago totally ignoring more liberal Senators. I'm sure if Clinton's the nominee they'll call her a wild-eyed liberal too.
And as for Obama and the right to choose - a majority of the country is pro choice so I don't really see how the thinly veiled racist poster above sees this as a loser for Obama. I do like the use of the middle name to scare idiots away. Nice of you to stop by, Mr. Rove.

The Clinton machine is handcuffed by the need for the democrats to appear more civil, to avoid exposing Barack Obama's dirty personal and political laundries.
I doubt he can withstand the super microscopic scrutiny of his flip flopping positions, his politically self serving votes of "present" in the Il legislature, his wife's, almost too questionable, promotion coinciding with his presidential race, his opportunistic real estate dealing with a soon to be convicted felon.
I take the RNC warning to remind Obama that his too sensitive political skin may be too dainty for the rough and tumble bare knuckle type of campaign the RNC has in store for him.
If they could sink, John Kerry with dirty and untrue insinuations, I doubt whether Obama will weather the onslaught of true attacks, inspite of his experience (limited!) with the local chicago politics, and even the demigod Oprah behind him!

It sounds like you are the idiot!!!! Why are you so afraid of change? What we've had for the last 8 years has not worked. It's not about a democrat or a republican being in office...it's about who can affect change and bring something different to the table. The country is about to go in a recession and you're still worried about dems against GOP.

No one seems to understand motives any more - as in, what would motivate the RNC to say this? RNC said this because they are itching for a Clinton-McCain fight and want to do what they can to counter the Obama X factor (that unpredictability that follows him and drives pollsters bonkers). If RNC thought Obama was the better candidate to face in the fall, whether they had dirt or not, they would be trying to help him win the candidacy (typically by suggesting that he is clean and Clinton is not), but these comments are clearly meant to help Clinton out in the "Republican teflon" arguments.

The Republicans will have a negative campaign and say Obama or Clinton are bad candidates for not supporting our war for oil in Iraq even thought their own plans are even worse for America and won't get us close to being out of the billion dollar defecit we are in. Typical conservative moves and duneclimb said it best.

good point Marilyn Ash.
McCain was so far seen as too liberal. So the only way they can paint him more conservative if they research Obama and attack HIS liberalism. Problem with attacking liberalism that it blindly implies raising taxes is bad and subsidizing the lazy is unprincipalled. they have to divert the dialogue from raising taxes on the super rich if they want to paint Obama a bad liberal and McCain a good liberal who now in fact conservative.

As usual, you're peeing in the wind again.
McCain Founding Member of the Keating Five:
Back in the old days, defendants in famous trials got numbers -- the Chicago Eight, the Gang of Four, the Dave Clark Five, the Daytona 500. McCain was one of the "Keating Five," congressmen investigated on ethics charges for strenuously helping convicted racketeer Charles Keating after he gave them large campaign contributions and vacation trips.
Charles Keating was convicted of racketeering and fraud in both state and federal court after his Lincoln Savings & Loan collapsed, costing the taxpayers $3.4 billion. His convictions were overturned on technicalities; for example, the federal conviction was overturned because jurors had heard about his state conviction, and his state charges because Judge Lance Ito (yes, that judge) screwed up jury instructions. Neither court cleared him, and he faces new trials in both courts.)
Though he was not convicted of anything, McCain intervened on behalf of Charles Keating after Keating gave McCain at least $112,00 in contributions. In the mid-1980s, McCain made at least 9 trips on Keating's airplanes, and 3 of those were to Keating's luxurious retreat in the Bahamas. McCain's wife and father-in-law also were the largest investors (at $350,000) in a Keating shopping center; the Phoenix New Times called it a "sweetheart deal."

Maybe the GOP knows something we don't know such as " It was reported that just two months after he joined the Senate, Obama purchased $50,000 worth of stock in speculative companies whose major investors were his biggest campaign contributors. One of the companies was a biotech concern that benefited from legislation Obama pushed just two weeks after the senator purchased $5,000 of the company’s shares. Obama was also nabbed conducting campaign business in his Senate office, a violation of federal law."*

And you wonder why Hillary has won all of the true and historic democratic states…. who is more republican now?….
Even with the Kennedy’s backing him he could not pull off Massachusetts’s.
I love how people think that in the dissolved state that our country is in right now… we could vote for a man that:
1) says he will unite both parties….and yet only has democratic backers…. (Hill even has Ann Coulter…if she can get her…HELLO!)
2) does not support universal healthcare: this will result in millions that are not insured. (Hillary’s plan will insure everyone under the congressional plan that will have insurance companies fighting for your business, and Americans would be able to choose what plan they want…) – Obama’s does this: The government chooses the plan and you; the American people either use it, or have no health insurance….hmmmm
3) About the Iraq war… umm he wasn’t in the senate when they voted on it so of course he didn’t vote for it! He probably would have if he had been in the senate… because he pretty much copies everything that the other democrats do. Plus if you actually read the piece of legislation about the war that they are talking about and look at the media coverage at that time…all of us were tricked and lied to. WMD my fanny! Haha. Um the legislation proposed allowing INSPECTORS…. Repeat….INSPECTORS! Into Iraq, (that means people protected by a small military convoy go into the little Iraqi bases and labs and poke around under the surveillance of the UN). That is what the people who voted on it believed it would be, that is what they were told… that is what we the people were told… remember Colin Powell? I do. This of course as we know did not happen… and Americans at the time remember, had just witnessed terrorists on 9/11 and the things that they could do, so yes sending the INSPECTORS in I think would have been a very smart and safe thing to do… So I would have voted for it too like many other democrats did as well.
4) he has no opinion at all. There were over 100 pieces of legislation he voted PRESENT for instead of yes or no that Edwards, Clinton and a sea of other Democrats have all pointed out. These included about 9 on ABORTION which if I can remember is a very controversial issue. I can understand trying to look good for the media… but having no stance at all to support the people of Illinois and represent their voices, really tells me what kind of a president he will be… allowing other people to make decisions for him. I want a President that will hear my voice and allow me to be heard… act on my behalf… because that is what this government is about… please someone correct me if I am wrong…
5) has no foreign relations as of now…. Hillary has 100’s and international people from around the world support her much more than Obama. Just look at the comments and pictures from Europe to Asia, to Africa and South America…oh yeah and Aussies like her too.
6) he accuses others of mudslinging (especially on the MLK issue- where he accused Hillary of being a racist…..um do you know the Clinton’s? HA! Even the founder of BET called him out on that one….She said that MLK of course was the leader of the Civil Rights Movement… duh…. but that she wants to follow the examples of president’s LIKE LBJ and give voices to leaders with an important cause such as this one by signing it into law… this MLK could not do by himself…I hate ignorance…) After this crazy race stuff that OBAMA started by spinning words (which he has done very often in this campaign…) Clinton and he decided to call a truce. Two days after, however he was at it again on a talk show laughing making jokes about and accusing both of the Clinton’s of racial profiling, slander and a slue of other typical mud slinging actions that very inexperienced politicians get into… dirrrrrty! Haha. And he talks about change….
7) after this he expects Clinton to stay quiet… umm she has been fighting nonsense like this from the Republicans for 30 years… so of course not. Haha. So yes if you are going to dish it out you gotta take some too. “Can’t stand the heat…then get out of the kitchen”
On a second note I am soooo tired of the media targeting Bill Clinton. Of course he is going to stand up for his wife… Michelle does it too…but she isn’t popular so… no coverage! Popularity sells people! Yes he is defensive, but I think that Michelle is worse… just the other week she said this about Hillary: If she can’t control her husband and his infidelity than how is she going to control the republicans and the government? Hahahahahahahahahaha WOW! Umm really personal. The Clinton’s only pointed out his continued drug use…sound familiar? (Cough* George W Bush…)
8) also….wasn’t it GW who stressed that experience didn’t matter… “uniter not a divider”…haha… I think that having another inexperienced guy in office will really hurt in the long run.. I don’t think that someone who can’t even speak without a teleprompter should be allowed in office… yes he is eloquent because he reads from a screen people… when he is debating see the difference! (You can tell when someone is reading from a teleprompter when there chin is raised slightly more than normal… kind of giving them a look of arrogance…)
I don’t want to make it sound like I dislike Obama because I don’t, I think that his want for change is real… as was GW’s… but do I think he can actually deliver on that change without an actual platform or stance on important issues… no… do I think he is ready to become President of the United States? NO. Maybe in 8 years…
Being a person of words and eloquence is great… when you are a professor. Not when you are a president… you actually need to vote and act.
Plus he kind of freaks me out when someone does not agree with him…he gets testy and accusatory… I have a feeling he doesn’t like to share and is a yeller, probably will make rash and impulsive decisions (again reminds me of someone else…)….haha

Ditto. You see it too. If only the others could see it, but they are blinded by "hope" and desperate for "change" that rationality has been thrown out complerely.
I watched the Hillary/Obama debate, and frankly, Hillary really, really did well presenting her platform and her stance on the issues, and she was thorough. Obama always seemed to revert back to his calling card, "change and hope", and the different ways you could say "change and hope" coupled with uniting the American people, nothing substantive, other than mimicking Hillary's ideas.
Also, using his right hand (index finger and thumb)to present his case in the same manner that John F. Kennedy used to address the American people (see video footage of "Ask not what your country ....." speech) will not channel President Kennedy's brilliance or make Obama look or present himself like the late President.
Sorry, you Obama worshippers. He is not ready yet. Maybe a few more years in the Senate will allow him depth.
Finally, I close by saying any Democrat is better than the GOP unless, of course, the GOP is Ron Paul. Paul really is the best out of the bunch (both Dems and GOP)if you want CHANGE.

Most people vote for Hillary because her name is well know, as Obama said. Most people like that won't bother to look up what Obama stands for and Hillary's sub-par views. If people think Hillary can take the bashing from the Republicans then they are blind; if she cries at a speech because she won a primary she can't take the stupid "bashing" from arrogant Republicans.

Obama has got you so brainwashed, your only response is to chant similar to people under the spell of a cult leader. Chant on, mindless zombies. You are truly pathetic. I guarantee you I don't need to hide behind many post names. I use one - truth. Does that name scare you? Usually, "truth " does.
When you can't say anything of substance, you resort to name-calling - "Socio-path". This type of defense mechanism is called "projection"; in other orders, you are projecting your own characteristics upon someone else. Go to school and learn somthing of substance and then you may qualify as an enlightened individual. Until then, do yourself a favor and live by the adage "Silence is golden", and I may add, "stupidity is transparent."

Punch harder than Clinton? Sure. . .let's talk about the trillion dollar deficits under them. Let's talk about the horrible economy under them. Let's talk about the useless war in Iraq under them. They can spin it all they want. . a pig is still a pig. And, it will smell like one.

You far left people amaze me(lol). I want you to look at the Red state Blue state map, that's a whole lot of red states you have to turn blue. I can tell some of you live in liberal states like California, Vermont, and New York, but democrats are expected to take those states so no one cares. Obama has no experience what so ever. He's never been Minority leader, he's never been Majority leader, he's never run a city, never run a state, and you actually think the majority of the country is going to elect this guy??? give me a break!!!! He's just not qualified. He has no accomplishments, and has a very liberal voting record. The majority of the country is right of center. Mccain will win with independents, since he's really a moderate. I just don't believe the majority of the country will elect this guy, with all that's going on with North Korea, Al-Qaeda, and Iran. Barack can't win in the south, but he might have a chance in the midwest. If Mccain can get conservatives to vote for him, then it's Game-SET-MATCH. An Independant can always beat a Liberal. Obama will get his clock cleaned just like John Kerry. Democrats need to get smart and stop trotting out Liberals, and start promoting Moderates and Centrists like Bill Clinton, that's your only chance at getting back in the White House. Some of you people are in for a rude awakening in the fall, but then again there is always 2012. HA HA HA HA!!!!!1
