The Swamp

by Frank James

Rep. Rahm Emanuel's younger brother Ari, the macher Hollywood talent agent, is publicly giving his lawmaker-brother and the other Democratic superdelegates some unsolicited advice: Let voters, not the party big wigs, decide the winner of the Democratic presidential nomination.

Here's what he wrote in Huffington Post.

My brother Rahm Emanuel is a superdelegate. I love my brother, and I trust my brother. But I gave up letting my brother dictate my life since he determined whether he got the top or bottom bunk in our bedroom back in Chicago.

So, as much as I love and respect him, I don't trust him and his fellow superdelegates to decide for me and the American people who should be the Democratic nominee -- and, therefore, most likely the next president of the United States.

I want voters to make that decision.

Rahm, who was a senior official in the Clinton White House, has studiously avoided choosing between his old boss's wife and Obama, his fellow Illinois delegation member, sometimes even threatening to crawl under a table to hide when he's been asked which way he might go.

Ari, on the other hand, hosted a fundraiser for Obama and has also questioned the validity of Clinton's claim to have 35 years of experience.

Here's what we really want to know which Ari doesn't answer: was Rahm a top or bottom-bunk brother?

"PUBLIC INTEGRITY SECTION OF THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT SPEAKS"

WHATEVER! THAT IS WHAT DON SIEGLEMAN THOUGHT.

WHATEVER! THAT IS WHAT KARL ROVE WANTS AMERICA TO THINK. YOUR VOTE IS ACTUALLY BEING COUNTED BY HIS NEWLY FORMED JUSTICES ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

THE PEOPLE'S VOTE IS "LEGALLY SEALED BY" THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT OF THIS COUNTRY AND UNLESS "THE SECRETARY" SAYS IT'S OKAY TO ALLOW THE VOTE TO BE COUNTED, THEN IT'S NOT AND MR. UM UM UM UM UM MUKASEY IN RESPECT TO "SAID LAW OF THE LAND" UM UM UM UM NOT SURE IF IT IS THE LAW OR IT MIGHT BE THE LAW OR IT MIGHT NOT BE THE LAW. SO AT THIS TIME, WE AREN'T GOING TO COUNT THE AMERICAN VOTE.

The nomination of our party has been decided in this way for quite a few years. Nobody had a problem with that when the nominee was chosen in January, but now that it's an actual race, all of a sudden it's "up in arms!" This thing will work itself out, either way.

James,
I'm sure you believe what you say but there are 100,000's of voters, suffering the cold, snow, to vote for Obama.

You say this will work itself out. But to elect someone by a few, going against the will of the voter is wrong. Some have already said so.

I do have a question: Do All the Superdelegates get to vote twice?
Once in the primary then as a superdelegate.
It kinda hits the average voter pretty hard.

This to me is an incumbents paradise island.
Obama is a real candidate who can be shutout by a few (loyal super delegates) over millions of voters. H. Clinton is running as the incumbent.

Obama's people should start contacting the DNC, and complain. http://www.democrats.org/contact.html

Way to go Ari!
I'm sorry that you had to out your own brother as the tool I thought he was. I barely know who you are, but I much prefer your point of view over your brother's. Hold Florida & Michigan accountable, too. OPEN THE BOOKS DEM'S, OR LOSE ANY HOPE THIS FALL!!!
Remember, We rejected the Rove methods. We'll reject the same actions by you as well. Superdelegates(2008) = Supreme Court(2000).

The BROTHER of a Dem Congressman?? What next, Barack Obama's dog groomer?

The Democrats at the Swamp are so desperate to publicize Liberals, any Liberal, that they're reaching far down in the Far Left foodchain.

Crazy talk from some kool-aid-drinking wingnut won't be enough to keep me from becoming the next official White House dog groomer, baby! Deperate Democrats? That's pretty funny coming from the party that booed the mean old dog winning their race. Ari's dog will get a complimentary grooming if his brother listens to him and votes with the majority in Illinois.

Frank James, I remembered from a story in the Chicago Tribune - the answer may surprise you:

"Ari even got the top bunk bed when he and Rahm shared a room, even though Rahm was older and could have laid claim to it. 'I was physically stronger,' Ari Emanuel explained."
