No! Sleep! 'Til Portsmouth!
Blitzing across New Hampshire in hopes of pulling out a surprisingly strong finish, Democrat John Edwards is replaying the no-doze strategy he deployed in the final days before the Iowa caucuses.
Edwards, a former North Carolina senator who finished second in Iowa but trails Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton in polls here, will barnstorm New Hampshire on a 36-hour continuous bus tour his campaign dubs the "Marathon for the Middle Class.” The fun - or agony, depending on your point of view - starts in Manchester at noon today and is scheduled to end after midnight Tuesday in Portsmouth.
To keep him company, or maybe just awake, Edwards is bringing several friends along for the ride, including his wife Elizabeth, several of the "real people" whose stories he tells on the campaign trail and actors Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon.
Click below to take a gander at the full schedule. And P.S. - the opening line of this posting was brought to you with apologies to the Beastie Boys ("No sleep 'til Brooklyn"), a band The Swamp has never heard at any candidate's campaign event.

The Republican party should be hoping for Hillary to win the Democratic nomination. She is the 100% polar opposite to "good ole boy" Bill. Her angry demeanor is fearsome to friend and foe alike.

Edwards is The Man!
I am so excited. He is gaining on Hillary in New Hampshire, and one poll has him at 23%.
He won the debate, and is up in the Rassuemseun Poll at 205 nationally.

Hollyweirders Tim Robbins and Susan Sarandon--two of the "real people" John Edwards speaks for.

Go John, Go!
We're with you and we'll donate to your campaign today! I think you ought to set up the Edwards "media" fund. Let people donate so that you can afford to get your message out because the national media is out to stop you and just won't cover your campaign.
Despite coming in 2nd in Iowa they are giving the 3rd place finisher Clinton the coverage that is rightfully yours. I hope all fair minded people will begin donating to your campaign to send a clear message to the media that we won't stand for them slanting the election coverage.

John Edwards is the only candidate for any real change. He is the only one running as the Peoples president, a young FDR willing to make positive changes for the American people. The difference this year is a corporate president or a peoples president, I want a president who will do my bidding not the corporations bidding. As our economy turns for the worse and continues that trend it tells me the corporate world has not be in favor of the American people,as jobs continue to go overseas or across the border. The dollar continues to decline. It is the right time for the right man with real solutions, John Edwards all the way to the WH!

RNC Gadfly Bruce,
Do you mean like Chuck Norris or Bo Derek? Or maybe like Fred "Hollywood" Thompson?
So who's your candidate for president?
C'mon Bruce, dare to be timid - pick a candidate.

Edwards certainly has done his homework and I love to listen to the man. Go get 'em, John.
I keep wishing that Edwards and Obama could somehow join forces and really blow the doors off this thing in the Fall. I find their styles very complimentary and their policies similar. Change is on the agenda for sure. Do we always have to frame this as a combative, winner take all contest. We need both their energies and intelligence to undo this crisis of unleadership we've suffered under for the past eight years or more.

I am disgusted at the Edwards campaign parading victims of the insurance companies in front of the voters in an effort to get sympathy votes. The idea that the insurance companies must be stopped is a no-brainer, but John is the last person to do it and he is not a "partner" in change with Obama. That is just an attempt to align himself with the true agent of change. Obama sends a message we can believe in, because he encourages Americans to unite to create a majority to overcome the insurance and drug companies. He will lead us! Obama 08!

Godspeed, John. We're rooting for you.

John looked great in the debate, he looked like a fighter and I for one am tired of offering a hand of bipartisanship for 6 years and having it bitten off. Go John!

John stands up for everyday americans. If the victims of insurance companies want to come and support john and his message, that is great. Much better than trumpeting celebrity without substance. Obama is failing to see that even if we have a united america (which john also supports), if the lobbyists and corporate money are controlling the government, those united voices are not heard. The first step is to change the system and put people before profits.

There is no "parading of victims" by Edwards. The people telling their sad stories speak for every single one of us -- the majority -- who struggle to keep up with insurance payments to companies who have the power of making life and death decisions about us and our children. We are completely at the mercy of these corporations.

Milk is $3.50 here in the middle west. John Edwards is fighting for the 98% of America who groan when they see prices up so high. We love Obama's spirit, but John Edwards has the means to make it happen. Go, John, go!
