The Swamp

[Story updated Sunday here.]

by Jason George

Rep. Ron Paul and supporters of his presidential bid are in an uproar over what they believe is his exclusion from a televised debate on Jan. 6, two days before the New Hampshire primary.

While campaigning in the Granite State on Saturday, Paul called Fox News, one of the debate's supposed sponsors, "scared of me." They "don't want my message to get out, but it will," according to The Boston Globe's Primary Source blog.

"They are propagandists for this war and I challenge them on the notion that they are conservative."

Kent Snyder, Paul's campaign chairman continued in a statement: “Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded.”

A joint Boston Globe-University of New Hampshire poll from a week ago has Paul in 5th place in the state, pulling 8 percent of the vote.

Jesse Benton, a campaign spokesman, said they haven't heard directly from Fox that Paul is excluded; and if so, why that happened. "We've called Fox six times and have not had our calls returned," he said.

Calls and emails to Fox News spokespersons by the Tribune were not returned Saturday evening.

An official at the New Hampshire GOP, which is co-sponsoring the event with Fox, said that Paul might still be included, but the planning for the debate was still coming together and it was ultimately Fox's call.

The Associated Press reported last week that the candidates participating in the 90-minute forum at St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H., will be Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain, Gov. Mitt Romney and Sen. Fred Thompson.

GOOD for FOX!

Keep Ron Paul's 3.8% national poll average and his 19th century ideas out of the debate.

FRED THOMPSON is the best person to lead this country. He is a true conservative and has been his entire life. All one has to do is check his record to see this.

During my time in the Army as an Intelligence Analyst, I served under both Presidents Carter and Reagan (as my commanders in chief). Without argument, President Reagan was the best commander-in-chief a military person could ever have served under. Fred Thompson possesses the same qualities and vision as President Reagan in that he is strong on national defense and sees a dire need to secure our borders and control immigration.

I can think of no better person to lead this country and fix the problems we have. He is the only candidate from either party who has specific and detailed plans on border security and immigration reform; revitalization of America’s armed forces; saving and protecting Social Security; and tax relief and economic growth. These are detailed on his Web site at www.fred08.com . I challenge you to find any other candidate who has laid out specific plans to fix anything.

Fred Thompson has published his first principles, some of which are mentioned above. In addition to those, he strongly believes in individual liberty, personal responsibility, limited government, federalism, traditional American values, the rule of law and is a strong proponent of the Second Amendment — all concepts established during the birth of our country and documented in our Constitution.

Again, try to find any candidate who has laid out their plans to “fix” this country. You will find they all speak in vague and abstract terms on their plans.

For those who have heard Fred Thompson speak, you will usually hear him say that the Fred Thompson you see today is the same Fred Thompson you saw yesterday and is the same Fred Thompson you will see tomorrow. He stands by his principles and values and doesn’t shift his positions based on polls or public opinion; in other words, he doesn’t say what the voters want to hear just to get elected, but remains steadfast on his views and convictions.

During his time in the Senate he focused on three areas: to lower taxes, strengthen national security and expose waste in the federal government. Fred Thompson has foreign policy experience, having served as member of the Senate Foreign Relations and Senate Intelligence committees.

As chairman of the Senate Governmental Affairs Committee, he opened the investigation in 1997 on the Chinese government’s attempt to influence American policies and elections, and this investigation identified connections with the Clinton administration (documented in the committee’s report).

As a member of the Finance Committee, he worked tirelessly to enact three major tax-cut bills. Fred Thompson remains steadfast and even though a person may not agree with all his views and he understands some may disagree with him, you can count on him to be consistent and unwavering.

Don’t be fooled by his laid back approach and what critics call his “laziness.” As a former assistant U.S. attorney, he earned a reputation as a tough prosecutor and he possesses the toughness this country needs in order to tackle today’s and tomorrow’s issues.

I ask that you take a hard look at what this country needs, then take a hard look at all the other candidates’ views, policies, their records and their track record on consistency. Fred Thompson possesses integrity, loyalty, commitment, energy and decisiveness, all traits of an effective leader, and will emerge as the best person to take this country boldly forward.

Please help Fred win in Iowa:

Ron Paul has discovered what us Liberals already know: Faux News is not a real news channel. It is a propaganda outlet for the Republic Party. They don't want RP spoiling things for one of their preferred, nutbag candidates.

Guys, comon guys. Get real. This is obvious censorship and a real intersection of politics and media. How in the world can Ron Paul be excluded and Fox keep any credibility? That is my question.

I have no doubt that Fox News will shortly be re-evaluating their assessment of Dr Paul's chances in the coming elections. As a Ron Paul supporter, I've had news of this within hours, and my emails have contained contact information for Fox, the FCC, and Fox's advertisers, all of whom will getting emails and phone calls from myself, and doubtless hundreds,
perhaps thousands of like-minded freedom loving Ron Paul supporters.

Journalism requires looking into the facts. Click below and you'll find this one:
in NONE of the last 11 polls conducted in New Hampshire has Fred Thompson polled higher than Ron Paul. I would like to hear what Mr. Paul has to say.

http://www.pollster.com/08-NH-Rep-Pres-Primary.php

If this is true, it is a sad day for America.

How can we be the voice for free and fair elections throughout the world if our media is actively trying to influence elections rather than simply reporting on them?

Thanks for the fair and balanced coverage... Quite the opposite of Fox news.

How unfortunate that the NH GOP says it is Fox's call. They need to have more control of their own party.

Fair and balanced? The media bias against Ron Paul is not surprising, but it is a pretty audacious move on foxNews's part. I think no matter what happens Ron Paul stands to gain. If they keep him out of the forum, then the sheer number of Paul supporters outside the event will be reported everywhere but FoxNews. If they backtrack and let him in, they acknowledge that he is more than a viable candidate.

If they want to exclude Dr Paul, fine. We'll do a rally outside and get more coverage and more people. And we'll boycott Faux News and its sponsors.

New Hampshire State Republican Party who is holding the forum and it this organization who responsible for not including Ron Paul, not FOX News, they are merely broadcasting the event.

what else is new with Fox News. They think they can ran our lives. But I think Ron Paul is right, they are scared of him.
History repeats itself. f you go back to history, Winston Churchill right until before the war was considered by parliament (specially his own party) and the press as quixotic, eccentric and out of reality and all because what he said was the truth. He was a journalist for a newspaper and there was great pressure from the government and including the press to stop him from writing. When Germany invaded France he became prime minister because he was the only true leader who had been loyal to his principals and convictions and had the courage to face a very grim future for Great Britain. And lets not forget that the people loved him no matter what the press or the government said. Read: “The Last Lion Alone”.
I believe Ron Paul is that kind of leader. What he says is the truth and people love him for that. His voting record in congress speaks by itself.
I believe he has a great chance of winning in the primaries because a lot people might like a candidate but that doesn't mean they will vote for him in the primaries. I believe every single Paulite will vote even if there is a hurricane cat 5. He will surprise everybody in the primaries, just like Truman did.
Lucia Schmitz

I wonder how you justify leaving the fifth ranked candidate out of a five candidate debate?

Bill O'Reilly will make sure this is corrected, you watch!

Thanks for this update Baltimore Sun.

I think the following quote from Kent Snyder is incredibly spot on:

Kent Snyder, Paul's campaign chairman continued in a statement: “Given Ron Paul’s support in New Hampshire and his recent historic fundraising success, it is outrageous that Dr. Paul would be excluded.”

That is the truth.

The Murdochs/foxnews of this country better be on their toes, and should pay attention to what you all are doing on your networks. By the way Hannity is a Nazi, he likes war just as much as the rest of them. Ron Paul is going to Run this Country with or without you, and he will do it with OUR CONSTITUTION AND WE THE PEOPLE.

This action to exclude the only anti-war republican, Ron Paul, is a blatent act of electioneering. Ron Paul has a massive nationwide following of dedicated grassroots supporters. Having raised almost $20m Million this quarter alone from well over 100,000 individuals, he is a fund-raising frontrunner and cannot be ignored.

-He has 80,000+ meetup.com members
-He is the most googled candidate especially in Iowa now
-He wins the vast majority of internet polls
-He wins the majority of straw polls
-He broke every record for 1 day fundraising
-He draws thousands of supporters to his rallys
ect

This act by fox is an attack on our democracy.

Kevin Daly
Resident of Howard Co.

Rudy has a tumor. After he drops out, there will be a place for Ron Paul on the stage.

Also, 9/11

i'm a romney supporter, but i think its important to have paul in the debate, he offers a different perspective and and raises some good points, the polls are hard to figure but is'nt he ahead of thompson and huckabee?.. i just can't imagine excluding him just because his campaign is a little unorthodox.. in fact i may change my support to him, i've always tried to vote for whats best for the country regardless of if i thought they could win or not.. if i were going to vote whats best for me personally, i'd be voting democrat, i'm in a business that prospers from democrat policies..

If Dr. Paul is not invited to the forum I will boycott Fox and their advertisers and have my family sell their stock. I guess Dr. Paul was right about fascism coming to this country!

Ron Paul raised over 6 million in one day! It is a shame to see such obvious bias in the media.

So, how was he out foxed?!

If he is to be excluded, I predict that the Fox will be out foxed, in the long run.

Fox News spews propaganda

Fair and balanced, my rear. FOX News is playing with fire here. But Paul doesn't need to go on these dog and pony shows anyway. All FOX will do is marginalize him as before.

Paul supporters: Don't bother FOX with emails or threats. Leave the station alone and let's just focus on helping Dr. Paul win. FOX's goal is to portray Paul supporters as a bunch of moonbats. Let's not give them the opportunity.

It will be an absolute disgrace if Fox News doesn't inlcude Ron Paul in this forum.

I want to hear what Ron Paul has to say! A candidate who raised 19 million from over 100,000 supporters must be saying something right!

Shame on Fox News; I'm calling and emailing their corporate sponsors to let them know I'll boycott their products and services if Ron Paul is excluded!

And shame on the rest of the spineless candidates for agreeing to attend a forum that would censor and exclude a top tier candidate! Not a pricipled man among them, they'll never get my vote.

There is a reason that I get nearly all of my news from the independant internet media sources... and Fox is a glaring reason for the season. Ron Paul's message should be heard.

I don't watch Fox News anyway. I suppose they have an audience and they think that that audience would rather Paul not be in a debate. That is their decision.

In the mean time Paul can be out campaigning while the other candidates are stuck in a debate. Either way, Paul wins.

I imagine folks in NH are a little cranky right now because of the presumption of Fox.

Fox is run by propaganda and is a filthy corporation. Down with the fascists. Give us back our liberties RON!!!!

SCREW FOX!

My initial thought was that this was a negative, but now I realize it is one of the best things that could happen for Ron Paul. You can become famous by being controversial, and what is more controversial in America than stifling a presidential candidate with an obvious following who is campaigning for change? The parallels to Bhutto are unmistakable.

If Ron Paul is excluded it will only serve to strengthen his support. I can't wait to see what the MSM will have to say after Ron Paul comes in at or near the top in Iowa and New Hampshire.

Democrat voting for Ron Paul ~

It comes as no surprise that Ron Paul would be excluded. Even in some of the televised debates he was placed outside the camera view when looking at the crowd of contenders. The RP headquarters has issued an urgent request for supporters to stop calling the to complain to the GOP. Why not call or e-mail FOX instead?

This is a disgrace to the American Political system. An out right disgrace. I have called the GOP office and for them to say it is Fox's call is absurd. Since when does Fox call the shots for the GOP. Just plain absurd.

Why would Fox do that? From what I read of Ron Paul, he is the best option the Republicans have. Good luck to him.

If Fox News is truly concerned with being "fair and balanced," why don't they include Ron Paul in their debate? Why are they excluding the only anti-war candidate? They can't argue that they only have enough room for "top tier" candidates - the inclusion of Fred Thompson belies that assertion. Therefore, it's very reasonable for Ron Paul to claim that Fox is afraid of his message. Why else would they exclude him?

Faux news knows their hand has been dealt and their infestation of the Republican party has been brought to light before the entire world... Their actions are a great relief to our cause!

Thanks Rupert!

Voter News Service and the Diebold Corp. are planning on fixing the elections. They will ensure that Dr. Paul only gets maybe 7-8% of the vote. Fox and Murdoch are very much aware of this and that is why they are excluding Dr. Paul and this is how they will ultimately justify their position. A recent on-line AOL poll for President has Dr. Paul winning with 30% followed by Guliani with a mere 17% of the vote. This was a national poll with 100,000 votes cast. This is a more accurate reflection of his true support. Josef Stalin once said, those who cast votes decide nothing, those who count the votes decide everything! With absolutely no citizenry oversight of this electronic voting system, the possibility if not probability of voter fraud absolutely exists and has already been demonstrated on numerous ocassions. Dr. Paul has millions of supporters and many of them are fully aware of this situation.

Kind of reminds me of the Russian propaganda machine.

Fox is what it implies--they break their neck to discredit the only candidate running for president.

Good thing we have computers
or we would be dummed down as they want us to be.

Ron will get his message out without them and it just makes them push people to his camp. The rest of us need to get active as never before. America and the good old USA is depending on this man to be President.

Fox News would lose any remaining credibility they ever might have enjoyed by the exclusion of Paul from the debate. It really is an outrageous move that would make it extremely obvious to even the most casual observer that Fox News is nothing other than a propaganda machine for the neocon lunatics that are destroying this country.

Even if you disagreed with every position of Ron Paul on the various issues, this alone is reason enough to give him your vote and help stop the madness of letting the media dictate who will run this country.

I've emailed the local Fox TV and I'm contacting their local sponsors through their Fox web ads. Just click their 'contact us' and tell them what you think. By Monday, I should have a local list of sponsors out for the Phoenix area. Do the same in your area.

If you don't like Rupert Murdoch and Fox News telling you who you can vote for, let them know!

For many of us Paul supporters, it would be an outrage to exclude Ron Paul from this debate. I've been following Ron Paul's politics for more than 20 years and his bid for president seems to be my last hope for a constitutional type of government. We desperately need his voice in the United States, our representative of hope, liberty, and freedom.

RON PAUL NOT EXCLUDED - RELAX!

"Some sloppy reporting, instant web indignation, and holiday vacations produced a surge of hysteria that might have been avoided.by William Westmiller
(Libertarian)

One of the hazards of instant mass communication is that incorrect stories can get distributed immediately. A particular hazard during holiday vacations.

There is NO NH DEBATE on January 6th. Ron Paul was NOT EXCLUDED. That event was canceled three weeks ago.

Ron WILL participate in the January 5th ABC/WMUR GOP debate in New Hampshire.

So, what happened?"

(see link here: http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html)

I am from Louisiana. I have been a reluctant member of the Republican Party since that party "seemed" to be more in line with my understanding of small government, fiscal soundness and less adventurism abroad; however, with the exclusion of Dr. Paul in the 06 January 2008 debates, I will forever abandon the Republican Party; for the exclusion of Dr. Paul is but one in a series of positions and events which have shown me that the Republican Party is as much an enemy of the Republic as is the current Democratic Party which I long ago left. I firmly believe that hundreds of thousands of Americans, particularly Southerners, currently registered as Republicans will do they same as I and leave the GOP. It is better to stand against the evil of two lessers that to support the lesser of two evils!

That’s it! It’s time to boycott Fox and ALL its sponsors! Even if you are not philosophically aligned with RP, which is a philosophical problem in itself, exclusion for any reason of any candidate with the active following and financial support RP has is proof that it’s the defacto government working against real truths… yet again.

You write about Ron Paul's supporters being outraged at "what they believe is his exclusion" I would think that an AP report stating the candidates participating, "will be Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Gov. Mike Huckabee, Sen. John McCain, Gov. Mitt Romney and Sen. Fred Thompson" certainly implies that Ron Paul is NOT included. Unless my reading skills have seriously deteriorated with No Child Left Behind! I don't think that is an absurd deduction. I do believe that this is an incredible statement about the status of the news industry in America today. Even your coverage of this blatant attempt to steer the election outcome is blase and skeptical. This is what will kill the Old Media.

I'm not sure how Fox News thinks they can leave Ron Paul out when he is polling higher than two of the other candidates that are included, not to mention he has much more money than the rest of those candidates - Fox will lose all credibility, and honestly so does the NH GOP and the New Hampshire First in the Nation status

I hope the folks that are selling of stock/shorting got this, could be a bad day for fox. On the other hand they do deserve to get it like they give it.

http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html

Fox even with it's mistakes is still better then the America hating CNN.

Well, the industrial complex controlling elections is starting to look real to me...Was going to vote Giuliani but will now vote for Paul...I am simply "Appauled" by this

Why does Fox News hate Republicans?

"Please help Fred win in Iowa"

Uh no thanks buddy! Fred Thompson is a joke - Ron Paul is the REAL federalist and conservative. Fred is a continuation of the Bush status-quo.

Plus Ron Paul beat Fred in the Aiken, SC straw poll, and he has more delegates in Tennessee than Fred.

What a mess!
http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html
Ron Paul NOT excluded from Fox debate
Some sloppy reporting, instant web indignation, and holiday vacations produced a surge of hysteria that might have been avoided.

When Fox News first appeared I was as excited as any other conservative, if only because Fox did not seem to have the contempt toward God or the ordinary American that CNN and others showed. I didn't mind the bias towards "conservativism" since the other stations made no secret about leaning to the left.

But in this race, no station has shown more contempt and downright unfairness toward Ron Paul (and therefore towards real conservativism) than Fox.

I am surprised to see more fairness shown by CNN (which I used to call "the Clinton News Network") and MSNBC than by Fox. It is amazing to see how the neo-conservatives--a small but vocal group of unscholarly hacks with no standing in the academy--have hijacked my party. Most disgusting is the hijacking of conservative language and of Christian Faith for the promotion of ends which are unashamedly imperialistic. But they can't stop Paul. He'll win because the message is too true, too timely and too strong to silence.

God bless the only honest man in Washington political cartel.

FoxNews waging jihad on the constitution, terrorizing American democracy? Can it be true? Old media is really deteriorating.

Maybe we need the Iraqi's to come over here and bring us our Democracy back since apparently the concept is dead here.

Fox can come up with any excuse they think will be believed for limiting who is part of the forum, but we all know that they are against the views expressed by Ron Paul and don't want him to be heard.

If the purpose is to let voters hear the diverse opinions of the candidates, then Ron Paul should be included. If the purpose is for big money to control what voters hear, then I suppose they should exclude Ron Paul.

Whoa, folks. See the article by William Westmiller as mentioned by James D. above. Check it out. If true, there is no problem, only red faces all around.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Ron Paul NOT excluded from Fox debate

Some sloppy reporting, instant web indignation, and holiday vacations produced a surge of hysteria that might have been avoided.

http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html

This is all about the First Amendment. Let's not follow the gov't down the path of censorship. After all, censorship is becoming America's favorite past-time. The US gov't (and their corporate friends), already detain protesters, ban books like America Deceived (book) from Amazon and Wikipedia, shut down Imus and fire 21-year tenured, BYU physics professor Steven Jones because he proved explosives, thermite in particular, took down the WTC buildings. Let Ron Paul debate. Didn't Foxnews also censor Carl Cameron's 4-part series about Israel's involvement in 9/11?

WASHINGTON - The New Hampshire Republican Party is sponsoring a forum for Republican presidential candidates on Jan. 6, two days before the state‘s first-in-the-nation primary.

"Never underestimate New Hampshire voters‘ appetite for politics," said Fergus Cullen, the chairman of the state Republican Party.

Unlike a debate, the candidates will face questions from Wallace around a table in a studio on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H.. The 90-minute encounter will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio.

Nolan Chart is reporting that this entire information is false. They say that there is NO debate. Ron Paul was NOT excluded.

http://www.nolanchart.com/article797.html

his 19th century ideas???

How about 18th century.....like the constitution...you moron!

Thank you, Baltimore Sun!

Fox sucks and I am boycotting them indefinitely.

Ok Fred Thompson people whether you like Ron Paul or not you should be outraged. This is censorship and it is a political exclusion. How Would you feel if your candidate were excluded. This is an attack on freedom of speech.Just because you are against a candidates stand doesn't mean he shouldn't be allowed to speak this is supposed to be a free country.

Constitution was written in the 18th century....and it had some good ideas most have forgot.

YouTube video poses question to Fox News RE: Ron Paul's inclusion in the upcoming debate.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dKeBwMuzKK0

I would like to know who the sponsors of this debate are. They need to be contacted regarding the ommission of Ron Paul. If they decide to omit their dollars Fox will decide to rethink excluding Mr. Paul. I am a former Fox watcher but I decided sometime ago that the, "we report you decide" slogan is not correct. Their action regarding Paul only confirms my opinion. Last, as a former county republican chairman I would think the republicans in N.H. would be in an uproar over this.

RP supporters ... Outfoxed here refers to a DVD that covers how FOX journalism is not journalism at all, but just propaganda. Check it out Rupert Murdoch's war on journalism at http://www.outfoxed.org/

We all know the polls are worthless. They only exist to condition people for who the candidate is going to be. And the people aren't the ones doing the deciding. Go to votefraud.org to see the facts for yourself.

From the network that brought slease to primetime aka "Married with Children" and continues to today with newstainment, you shouldn't expect anything else. Nothing matters to them but a dollar, even the country they falsly represent.

Regarding the Nolan article...it's garbage. True, there is no Fox "debate", but there is a televised forum, which will likely not be that much different from a debate.

"Unlike a debate, the candidates will face questions from Wallace around a table in a studio on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H.. The 90-minute encounter will air live beginning at 8 p.m. ET on the Fox News Channel and on Fox News Radio."

So to call it a "brunch", at 8 PM, is silly and disingenuous. This is clearly a case of either Fox or the NH GOP attempting to exclude Dr. Paul, from an event to which he should have been invited in the spirit of fairness.

Fox is a JOKE!! After Ron Paul finishes in the top 2 in Iowa, FOX will be discredited by everyone and Ron Paul's support will grow exponentially. People need to google "Freedom to Fascism" and youtube "Ron Paul for America" and watch the "Americanism Overview" for a clear perspective on where our country is going. The babyboomers social security is not there.

FAUX is F@$#ED!

Will There Be a Run on NewsCorp (NWS) Holdings?

http://libertyline.blogspot.com/2007/12/will-there-be-run-on-newscorp-nws.html

On the heels of a December 28th, 2007 AP report that confirms Ron Paul's exclusion from the Fox News roundtable discussion of January 6th, 2008, the same kinds of energetic Ron Paul supporters who engineered the November 5th 2007 $4.3 million fund drive and the December 16th $6.03 million drive, are taking a new approach to speaking out in the wake of a media blackout: a massive selloff of NewsCorp (NWS) stock.

Unlike the earlier efforts which were organized at a grassroots level, there appears to be no organization behind this latest move whatsoever. Instead, irate investors from around the nation and around the world began announcing their plans to dump NWS stock in several internet forums, and upon discussions they began to achieve consensus that much of the liquidated funds would be donated to the Ron Paul campaign coffers.

One investor, when asked for comment, told us, "I am tired, sick and tired of NewsCorp's Fox News channel deciding for the American public who they will and will not permit to run for President. Nobody asked me to sell my shares of NewsCorp, but I refuse to allow my capitol to be used to censor legitimate presidential candidates."

Will all of this anger and talk of selloffs actually translate into a run on NewsCorp stock? Only time will tell. In the meantime, savvy investors will be keeping a close eye on NWS stock over the next week.

Today I got my new voter card in the mail, now I am a Republican who can vote for Dr. Ron Paul! “A little patience, and we shall see the reign of witches pass over, their spells dissolve, and the people, recovering their true spirit, restore their government to its true principles.” ~Thomas Jefferson, 1798

It's probably already been said, but how do they justify including Thompson while excluding Paul when Paul is polling *higher* than Thompson in the Granite State?

US Code Title 47 Section 315(a): "If any licensee shall permit any person who is a legally qualified candidate for any public office to use a broadcasting station, he shall afford equal opportunities to all other such candidates for that office in the use of such broadcasting station."

Stations are exempt, only when covering bona fide news events or doing routine coverage. By hosting the debate and excluding Dr. Paul, Foxs Newscorp is creating the problem by not granting equal time.

I forwarded this legal problem on to the appropriate US House Committee for investigations into wrongdoing by Newscorp. I hope they wise up before they find themselves in front of a Congressional panel considering their FCC licenses.

This isn't just about excluding Ron Paul it's about a so called News channel trying to manipulate the election process. If the other Republican candidates had any integrity they would boycott the Fox debate and standup for there fellow Republican whether they like him or not. I swear I’ve about had it with this party.

Fox News... Fair and Balanced. hmmm. might need to change that slogan.

Boycott the advertisers on Fox. They are owned by Israel for whom we fight wars and whom was behind the 911 attacks as far as the evidence shows. USS Liberty, now 911. Fox, you suck!

It is your American duty to watch Ron Paul videos and then educate others with the knowledge you have learned. Ron Paul can fix this country but only if he's elected.

It wouldn't surprise me if Fox excluded him simply to cause an uproar. All they have to do is include him now and they've just gained a ton of viewers very quickly. If that wasn't the reason, they are really making an unwise decision. I doubt I'll be turning Fox on anymore either. This just proves you can't trust a lot of what you hear in the media anyway.

There is no reason the debate has to be limited to 5 candidates but considering Paul's gains in the polls and huge fundraising he should definately be one of the five. He also speaks on issues noone else is adressing. Paul deserves to be heard. If a candidate wins or loses it should be based on whether the people agree or disagree with them not because of media spam for a candidate or censorship against.

I love how people write off Ron Paul for supposedly having "19th century ideas". The US Constitution is an incredibly wise document, it's laws fit perfectly with today's society. people who say his ideas are out-dated are saying the Constitution of our nation is out-dated.

Hey darling fellow Paulites,
I love how angry you all are getting, it is how I feel too and is quite endearing. But just remember - it's their INTENTION AND AIM to get us fired up into doing something dumb or rude that could create bad PR for Dr. Paul - so stay civil no matter how mad this makes you!!! Grrrrr.....

False Alarm. There is no Fox debate on Jan. 6. Do not call Fox or NH GOP. Here is the proof. google dailypaul

PS There is a money bomb on Dec.31.

An outrage!! Fox News / R. Murdoch strike again. Murdoch’s immigration to America is Australian’s gain and our regrettable loss. Why should we decent Americans allow this corrupt fascist media mogul to circumvent our political process? Dr. Paul professes - that non-violence is the way and civil protest is the preferred method. Demand that your representatives investigate Rupert Murdoch and his strangle hold on the freedom of American media. Furthermore, it is sound advice that all Ron Paul supporters and any American who values liberty begin a boycott of Fox and all their sponsors post haste with no holds barred!!!! Let us not stop until we have R. Murdoch jailed or sent packing back down- under and Fox News back peddling to their money sources begging for a 2nd chance.

I think the NH GOP ought Live Free or Die! What kind of organization are they to give Fox the final say-so?

Ron should go anyway. So should his supporters. Imagine 100000 people show up on Jan 6 on the campus of St. Anselm College in Goffstown, N.H. It could be Paulstock.
Spread the word. Remember to act politely to the people of N.H. It's not their fault. FOX is the loser.

when emailing the Faux advertisers go to their "Investor Relations" link on their site. Most of the customer service/support issues are outsourced to various companies, many of them overseas. If you want to have a direct voice to the advertisers speak to their Investor realations groups, "most" of those are still in house and will provide a more direct conduit to the companies. "Follow the money"

I already cancelled my new car purchase Monday at Toyota and I returned my Best Buy TV today and went to Circuit City. I will not spend my money at any place that supports Fox. I'm through with the TV news stations.

Paulo

You are a traitor and an enemy of liberty. Only rigged polls show single digits, Ron Paul wins all non-rigged straw polls and all non-rigged internet polls.

Sorry, the national average for Ron Paul is considerably higher.

You are a tool of the military industrial complex and a traitor

Fox News is a threat to our democracy. They despise truth and they despise our Constitution.

"Liberal Republican" network Foxnews is at it again. Dr. Pauls voice only gets louder everytime they try to silence him.

This forum was canceled two weeks ago! Please read this article and chill out.

This is obvious outrage and bias, Shame on you Fox news

Frederick Paxson's long post on Fred Thompson seems like propaganda. I bet it's someone in Fred's campaign passing as a military veteran with credibility. Fred digging deep for some support. Read what real people have to say below. Vote Ron Paul.

The nolanchant article is WRONG. The DEBATE is on the 5th and hosted by ABC, he's invited to that. The FORUM is on Jan 6th and is hosted by FOX. FOX has decided to exclude Ron Paul from the polls despite the fact that he's polling higher than Fred.

Peace, freedom from government spying, and unfair taxation are hardly 19th century ideas "paulo",,,You are the one displaced in time: you belong in pre-WWII fascist Italy or Nazi Germany...Go pound sand or spend your time searching the net for your mentor, Rudy "911" Guliani...

DO NOT VOTE FOR MCCAIN UNLESS, UNLESS OFCOURSE YOUR AN IDIOT.

My first thoughts were about Senator McCain's heroic war record in Vietnam, his strong rhetoric against pork barrel spending, his good voting record in the Senate with respect to his willingness to break rank with his own party on legislation, and finally his admirable record on campaign finance reform. However, there were some other feeling and thoughts going through my mind that made me want to analyze this possibility further, the possibility that McCain is evil, before I felt confident about giving my answer.

McCain was on CSPAN that day because he was out campaigning for President Bush's re-election bid. That fact, along with the fact that McCain did look somewhat evil that day, led me to question my own positive opinions about Senator McCain, and the conclusions I came up with were not good ones for McCain.

The first conclusion I reached was that Senator McCain was guilty of extreme hypocrisy, and if extreme hypocrisy is evil, then McCain is evil.

To see this extreme hypocrisy just look at some of McCain's recent activities.

For example, McCain constantly and loudly condemns how campaign money has completely corrupted our system of government and yet he is out campaigning for George W. Bush, the worst violator of this corrupt system of "money for legislation" ever.

It is also extremely hypocritical of McCain to constantly and loudly condemn pork barrel projects that are stuffed into legislation and yet he is out campaigning for Bush who has never vetoed one of these bloated pork filled spending bills.

McCain is a hypocrite for constantly complaining about huge budget deficits that make him "sick" and yet he is giving high marks and great praise to Bush who has taken the federal budget from the biggest surpluses in American history to the biggest budget deficits in America's history. These deficits that are currently being projected to continue for as long as can reasonably be projected and yet McCain continues to praise Bush.

Therefore, if evil can be defined as someone who is guilty of extreme hypocrisy then John McCain is evil. He is evil because his hypocrisy has the potential of negatively affecting the lives of hundreds of millions of people and could cost these same people trillions of their tax dollars, and even their lives. Therefore, hypocrisy from someone in an elevated positions of power and responsibility, like McCain is in, is more harmful, and is therefore more condemnable.

The second conclusion I reached was that I should write about this issue to expose Senator McCain for what he has become, and in my mind he has become a huge hypocrite that cannot be trusted.

Senator McCain has lost my trust and respect and I have placed him in the same category as I have placed the other Republican con-artist and liars in the Senate, and that is in the slimebag category. They should all be wearing bags over their heads while they walk around the halls of Congress because they are all a bunch of two-faced slimebags.

In summary, I do believe that John McCain is a huge hypocrite, but I don't believe that he is evil, like a devil. Let me explain what I mean.

First, I don't believe that "good" and "evil" are black and white labels, but that "good" and "evil" are actually part of the same spectrum that extends from good to evil. This spectrum is mostly grays with a tiny amount of pure color at either end.

In political terms, I would place people like Franklin D. Roosevelt, John F. Kennedy, Paul Wellstone, and Senator Patrick Leahy on the "good" end of the spectrum, and people like Richard Nixon, Ronald Reagan, Dick Cheney, and George W. Bush on the "bad" end of the spectrum. I believe that John McCain's form of evil lies somewhere in the gray area in-between the two extremes, and in-between these politicians. I guess in political terms that would make McCain a "moderate", or a politician who is just moderately evil.

In conclusion, I do believe that Senator John McCain is evil and we should never promote him into higher public office, but he is not the devil. George W. Bush on the other hand.......

Screw Fox. it's all out warfare from here on in. Boycott there sponsors, Boycott the network. Screw the GOP. It's on!

It is a FORUM, the debate was cancelled on the 6th and replaced with a FORUM which has excluded Dr. Ron Paul. There is a debate on the 5th hosted by a different news organization which has Dr. Paul included. That Noland article is a blog not official. Dr. Ron Paul has been excluded from FOX news FORUM on the 6th Ann

I *just* got off a two-hour phone call with someone who has been in touch with Kent Snyder (chairman of the Ron Paul campaign) and the NH GOP.

There is indeed a forum on Dec. 6 that will air on Fox News. Ron Paul is currently not invited.
