The Swamp

by Mark Silva

Young Jeb Bush, son of former Florida Gov. John Ellis Bush, has joined the Giuliani campaign in the Sunshine State, the campaign says today.

Bush, whose name is actually Jeb, is the youngest son of the recently retired two-term governor and younger brother of President Bush. The ex-governor himself has dispatched many of his closest allies to Mitt Romney's campaign, but refrained from his own endorsement.

The young Bush -- among the fourth generation of a family with a legacy of involvement in politics -- has joined Florida Young Professionals for Rudy.

“As someone who grew up around politics and candidates, I know that Rudy has the leadership qualities and unmatched experience to be the next President of the United States,'' the former governor's son and grandson of a former president is quoted as saying. "I’m honored to join his campaign and look forward to working with the many young professionals throughout Florida supporting the mayor.''

He will help the campaign recruit young professionals, the campaign says.

The Miamian works in commercial real estate, where his father made his fortune before running for governor. He is a 2005 graduate of the University of Texas at Austin.

His older brother, George P. Bush, who has settled in Texas as a lawyer, is supporting Tennessean Fred Thompson in the Republican presidential primaries. George P. has been widely viewed as the next in a line that started with the late Sen. Prescott Bush of Connecticut -- the one most likely to eventually seek office himself. With his name, and his heritage -- his mother is Mexican-born -- he has told the family that Texas is the place to be.

I see it coming down the pike. If Hillary/Bill is elected president for another 8 years, then another Bush will be in line for the next 8. Let's cut off the blood flow of this dynastic tendency now.

Well, I guess that sews up Florida.

Jeb has demonstrated himself a master of vote fraud.

Sews up Florida for whom, exactly? Jeb Bush, who is no longer governor of Florida, seems to be backing Romney. The former governor's son, Jeb, is backing Rudy. And the former governor's oldest son, George P., is backing Thompson.

For some reason Mark forgot to mention that Jebby was arrested two years ago for public intoxication and resisting arrest in Austin, Texas.

He was also caught in 2000 for engaging in "sexual misconduct" in a Jeep parked in the lot of shopping mall in Tallahassee.

Jebby joins prostitute patron, Senator David Vitter and coke dealer Thomas Ravenel as supporters of Giuliani.

You libs are so upset that there are other Bushs that acn be president. The family comes from a long line of presidents. at least 3 that I know of.

I posted here an hour ago. (still waiting) I guess "the swamp" does'nt like it much when you don't bash the Bush admin.

Giuliani: the natural heir to Bush/Rovism. It should be no surprise that he will be getting numerous endorsements from the PNAC crowd.

If it weren't for 9/11 (and we all know how successfully Bush and Giuliani PROTECTED US FROM TERRORISTS on that day), Bush would be at Crawford right now clearing brush (and not drawing a government paycheck for doing it) and Giuliani would have slunk out of office with his approval ratings in the tank and leaving the city with a $4 billion deficit that his far-more-popular successor has cleaned up.

Rudolph William Louis Giuliani, besides having the most Bush-like temperament (even worse in my opinion), is also the least qualified of all the candidates currently running for president.

He's the only candidate who could actually be a worse president than George W Bush. Scary.

Did fair and balanced Mark Silva note that the Bush family has a history of collaborating with Nazi's? A 30 second Google search would tell you this.

GWB, your posts would show up faster if you take you finger out of your nose first.

The current Bush, the one without a brain, is only president owing to vote fraud in Florida.

The Neocons see Rudy Gigoloiani as the next in line to the George W Bush warmongering throne.

Rudy want's to start WW3.

"Distrust and verify", you have to be kidding. Rudy Giuliani was well liked and known for his improvements to the crime rate in NYC, long before 9/11. While I disagree with the former mayor and current mayor on politics, its worth noting that Bloomberg had an absolutely abyssmal approval rating prior to recent success of charter schools.

The predominant funding for said charter schools came from a push by President Bush and the "No Child Left Behind" act.

I'm not a Rudy or a GWB fan but lets try to keep things honest.

"New Yorker,"

From Conservapedia:

"On Sept. 10, 2001, Giuliani was known as a crime fighter from his days as a United States attorney and as the mayor who had overseen New York's revival, including a 40% drop in crime. But at home his approval rating hovered around 50 percent."

His approval rating was below 50% on September 10th. Not exactly beloved. And the drop in crime mirrors a nationwide drop in crime over the same period. Mr. Giuliani was blessed to serve his term between the years 1993-2001, also known as the greatest period of peace and prosperity in American history. Nonetheless, he could not parlay the historic prosperity into a balanced budget (unlike the Federal Government at the time) and left office with a larger deficit than the one he inherited.

Sounds like a lot of the problems Bloomberg was having early in his term are the direct results of having to close budget shortfalls that Giuliani lacked the guts or will to take on. Raising taxes or cutting services aren't the best way to be popular, but responsible politicians do what it takes and take the heat when it comes their way.

Anyway, you may be the exception, but most New Yorkers I've talked to agree with the statement that if it weren't for 9'11 Giuliani wouldn't even be a long-shot presidential candidate. And, of course, he's already lost (err, excuse me, dropped out of) a campaign against Hillary Rodham Clinton.

As a moderate but highly cynical Democrat, I find Giuliani to be the single most distasteful of all of the candidates in either field.

His support from discredited NeoCon wackjobs like Norman Podhoretz and his can't-be-wrong, with-us-or-against-us, my-way-or-the-highway administrative style that did not impress 50% of New Yorkers before 9/11 leads me to believe that he is the natural heir to Bushism and essentially the establishment candidate (for Bushism, not conservatism per se).

Oh, and what exactly did he do to "fight terrorism" besides locating his billion dollar command post in terrorist target #1 against the wisdom of his advisors? Is it possible that Giuliani may have been more effective (but less photo-tacular) and saved more lives if he had located his command post in Brooklyn as was advised?

Little Jeb declares for Giuliani? This news is almost as earth-shattering as my neighbor's decision to wash his car. Couldn't we find anything a little more mundane to cover?

New Yorker,

Dressed to Kill Rudy wasn't like by all in NYC.
See 'his wallet looked like a gun'.

funny you should ask, there is a lame story about billary as a child having to run and jump in school. that's pretty darn lame. it seems that everywhere i look (internet, tv, newspapers etc.) there's always articles about this broad praising her for one thing or another. i'm so tired of seeing this cow, that i would'nt vote for her for that reason alone! what makes her qualified to be president? she's ugly, and her husband is a crook.

GWB,

Practice this;
'President Hillary, President Hillary'
