If it seems that Sen. Barack Obama is only putting in part of a day's work on the campaign trail today, there's a reason. He's got a hot date tonight.
After spending the morning and early afternoon in Iowa, Obama is scheduled to jet back to Chicago for an evening with his wife, Michelle Obama.
Besides celebrating the five-year anniversary of his speech opposing the invasion of Iraq, Obama is also celebrating another, more romantic anniversary this week: his 15th wedding anniversary.
No word on how the happy -- and busy -- couple plan to spend the evening. But it is a safe bet they won't be watching the Cubs in Game 1 of the division playoffs. Obama has repeatedly made it clear that he prefers the South Side White Sox.
The candidate will fly back to Iowa Thursday morning to resume his campaign duties.

It's Argyles for Barak
by Ferd Berfle
Further shoring up his image as a regular guy, Sen. Barak Obama, wife Michelle and an entourage of campaign and security staff went shopping for new socks.
"I go through socks very, very fast", said the senator. "See I don't keep my toenails trimmed so the big toe always pokes a hole, and then it's getting strangled by the hole... I try folding the toe of the sock over when I put on my shoe but that's not comfortable either."
The senator bought a dozen pairs of Argyle socks mostly in shades of brown, tan and green to go with his Man-of-the-People loafers and Chinoes.

When Rudy goes home for a romantic evening with his wife, which one does he go home to??
Rudy has more marriages than Hillary and Barack combined - talk about "family values"!!

A thread about Barack Obama and Bruce has yet to post a whining comment about it
I'M SHOCKED!

Will this anger the so-called family values Republicans out there? Remember the outrage when Al Gore dared to kiss his wife at the 2000 convention?

What ever happened to his legislative duties? Or doesn't he think he has to participate any longer in the political battles in Washington for which the People of Illinois elected him?

He missed a vote to cut funding for the war because of this. And his anniversary is the 18th, not this week.
