No cell phones while driving?

The bill to ban hand-held cell phone use while driving cleared the Judicial Proceedings Committee 6-5 this morning after being watered down somewhat. Details to come.

Pass the BIll, they are dangerous to people while driving...Hand Held's should be banned. Hands free, OK

It is so clear from research that ALL distracted driving causes accidents - from eating a big mac to changing radio channels to talking to someone in the back seat. It's like saying drinking beer while driving is not OK, but drinking wine is. Singling out cell phones is not meaningful reform - it just makes it seem like someone did something (the worst function of government).

This type of bill benefits one sector - those selling hands-free devices. I hope it fails in the main assembly.
