Gonzales poll: O'Malley's numbers still bad
The latest survey from Annapolis-based Gonzales Research and Marketing Strategies found Gov. O'Malley's approval rating is now 37 percent, down two points from the company's January poll. (That's still better than the 35 percent he got in The Sun's January poll.) Gonzales reports a major increase in anxiety over the economy and, as The Sun survey found, significant discontent over last November's tax increases. You can read the results of the Gonzales poll here and the results of The Sun poll here.

Look out! Here it comes!
A bevy of Democrats praising the bravery of Governor O'Malley for pressing ahead with the best interests of Maryland without regard for the predictable results of the polls.
Whew! Thank goodness that is out of the way.

Shouldn't this have the heading: News Flash?
I'll be back. I have to check up on "the use of sarcasm in publications."

Doesn't matter, the herd of sheeple known collectively as "Democrats" will vote him right back in two years from now.

i BET IF YOU TOOK A BETTER POLL YOU WOULD SEE HIS APPROVAL RATING BELOW %20.
HE IS SO SELF CENTERED AND NOT WORRIED ABOUT THE PEOPLE OF MARYLAND JUST HIS OWN FUTURE

You O'Malley haters are hilarious. He has 3 years to bring these ratings back up, that's an eternity in politics. He's doing the smart thing: getting the unpopular stuff out of the way early. You do all the feelgood stuff stuff around election time. Despite all your wishing and hoping, Bobby Haircut will not be back in the Governors mansion, sorry.
I hate to be the one to break the news to you MD GOoPers, but MD is a blue state. Always will be. The GOP in MD is a national joke. You are like one of those antiquated "Moose Lodges" of old, every 4 years all 12 of you gather in a room to wear funny hats, drink too much punch and go home depressed. Why don't you just give it up? Isn't there some nice red state you can all move to? VA maybe? Virginia is home to many of the holy bastions of republicanism: the Jerry Falwell ministries, bomb planting anti-abortion fanatics, gun nuts. Hell you can even fly the confederate flag on your front porch.

Maryland is a blue state..... Marylanders disapprove of O'Malley's behaviors..... O'Malley knows that the "blue" people will forget about these early activities by the time of the next election..... And this is supposed to speak well of the Maryland Democrats.... They can be treated poorly for a few years, with all kinds of policies that they do not approve of, but as long as their fearless leader throws a few bones their way at the end of his term, they'll come right back and approve of him for another term. I'd be embarrassed to be manipulated that way.

WOW, BOY KING is 37%! Much better then 35%. Hopefully the tax payers of this State will remember HIS 20% SALES TAX. Oh, as he now talks about the "national down turn". It's President Bush's fault. What a fraud!

Hey Dave B, what in god's name has O'Malley done for this state? I mean, all he's done is take from the lower and middle-class and make himself look like he's the best governor in the US. He has failed on a majority of his campaign promises! Including "STRENGTHENING THE MIDDLE CLASS." Raising taxes during a national recession is not the way you fix a budget deficit (THAT WAS A SURPLUS DURING THE EHRLICH ADMINISTRATION!). Doing absolutely ZILCH about the BGE Rate hikes (He just sat there and said: "Ah, 50% isn't much. The people of Maryland can handle that"). I mean he did absolutely ZILCH. He blames Ehrlich for the budget deficit. How can you blame Ehrlich for something he didn't do. We had a $1.6 Billion surplus and now we have a $1.3 Billion deficit? How is that possible? Simple, O'Malley gave the money to the city and Dixon and Rawlings-Blake wasted it!
He's been keeping a low profile (you noticed that he really hasn't been in the news much) and his approval ratings are just stinking up Maryland. He knows what he's doing and the voters of Maryland are seeing it clearly now. They voted him in on the account of the war in Iraq. O'Malley was a do-nothing mayor and he is currently a do-nothing governor. All he cares is making himself look good in the world of the democratic party of Maryland.
Esquire called him the best young mayor way back when and Time called him the top 5 best big city mayors. I wonder what they were smoking when they thought of that.
