Gilchrest aide: National GOP left us out

A new story on thehill.com quotes Wayne Gilchrest's top aide/campaign manager Tony Caligiuri as saying the National Republican Congressional Committee didn't share polling information with the congressman in the days before his primary election defeat to state Sen. Andy Harris. According to thehill, Caligiuri found it curious that the NRCC never mentioned to Gilchrest that it was doing polling in the district but, the day after the primary, sent out an e-mail trumpeting its poll numbers showing Harris beating Democratic nominee Frank Kratovil.

This whole sore loser bit from the Congressman and his campaign has gotten old faster than the primary television and radio ads.

Didn't the nine term congressman know how to do polling on his own? Did ask the NRCC to share? What would he have done with the information that he didn't do without it?

If he would have done something different then he ran a losing campaign on purpose. When it is close, a good campaign manager would have done everything possible to turn that around. Tony dropped the ball if he thought there was more to do and he failed to do it.

Congratulate the winner and his team and learn from the experience. Perhaps some introspection is in order. Just how does someone lose a nine term seat without the live boy scout or dead girl?

It is way too late to ask that Wayne and his crew show some party loyalty. The party membership hopes that they don't embarass themselves further.

Man, am I embarrassed. I didn't read the poll information until after I posted my admonition to the current 1st District Congressman and his staff.

Tony! Dude! (Disrespect, if perceived, is intended.)

The NRCC did their polling after the primary election. How on God's green earth could an early release of that information have helped you three days before the polling?
