McCain's free ride

On Midday today (WYPR-FM, 88.1) Paul Waldman, one of the authors of a new book on John McCain and his fans in the American news media, argues that the Arizona senator has been given a free ride to the Republican presidential nomination. In fact, that's the title of the book -- Free Ride: John McCain and the Media. Waldman and coauthor David Brock say the media has helped John McCain’s political rise and conducted a virtual McLove-fest, in print and on the airwaves, over the last decade.
