Obama and black women

From Amy Alexander's interesting piece, 'Black Women Talk Barack,' in the current edition of The Nation: "Lester Spence, a Johns Hopkins political scientist, mentioned something that instantly, viscerally resonated with me, as the mother of an 8-year-old black girl and a 4-year-old black boy: 'If [the] voter is a black woman who is a bit younger, who is working hard to keep it together, and especially if she has sons, her support will be for Barack. Especially if she has sons.'"
