Duff Mounts Cake

Mount St. Mary’s, the Catholic university in western Maryland, is celebrating its 200th Anniversary this year with a series of bicentennial events, including a bash in Baltimore this week (Thursday, Marriott Inner Harbor, 6-9 pm.) One of the featured attractions is a replica of the famous 200-year-old Mount cupola in a two-foot tall cake made especially for the celebration by famed baker Duff "Ace of Cakes" Goldman of Charm City Cakes and the Food Network. Sounds nice, but 200 years and just two feet of cake? Fame must be making Duff very pricey these days.

We love Duff, Mary Alice and all at Charm City Cakes.

Last year Duff and his illustrious team did our wedding cake. It was wonderful and unique cake with a tree. Duff, who loves metal work, welded the tree for our our wedding cake.

It was before the show and the cake was a bargain compared to most wedding bakeries. On our wedding day, the bonus was that my wife discussed our cake on his fun program on the Food network.

Duff and his team are business entrepenuers and are allowed to charge prices that the market will bear. For their time and creative energy, you get what you pay for.
Demand for their time and energy has
increased with their success and popularity.

Im sure Mr Roddicks does keep this business principal in mind when negotiating his contract with The Sun.

P.S. Mr Roddicks should also check the market on Wedding Cakes (It does get very pricey). Duff is still a bargain!

Who's this "Mr. Roddicks" guy? :-)
