Bush does it again

Our president is such a low brow. (I thought dufus was a better word, but a couple of readers objected, so, out of respect to them and the office of the President of the United States, I'll refrain from calling W. a dufus today.)

Still, he did it again: He said "John" Hopkins twice during yesterday's White House ceremony honoring the Blue Jays men's lacrosse champions.  (Bush didn’t quite pronounce “Pietramala” correctly, but we can give him a pass on that.)  In 2005, when the Blue Jays assembled for presidential recognition, Bush also called their university -- one of the finest in the nation -- John Hopkins.

The White House transcript compilers cleaned it up again, too.  I wonder if they went back and changed “Mission Accomplished” to read, “Here’s another fine mess….”

I can't believe anyone honestly gives a crap about this. Leave it to a liberal to nitpick about something so petty and insignificant.

Dan,

I hope you can help me here.

In this blog, you eloquently referred to Bush as a "low brow". Maybe he is, maybe he isn't. But if he really is, what does that say for you, since you haven't been able to rise to a position to serve in a leadership role like a "low brow", and "dufus" like Bush?

Just saying.

What can I tell you, folks? You want to keep defending Bush and believing this has somehow been an effective presidency. You want to pretend it isn't an embarassment to the world that the guy says dopey things like "John" Hopkins . . . You want to keep ridiculing Bill Clinton when he remains one of the most popular American political figures while Bush keeps tumbling in public opinion . . . fine. And you likely think the "outcome" in Iraq will be well worth the blood and taxpayer dollars that have been spent. You have to believe that. You probably voted for the guy -- twice. We understand.

I find Shrub's speaking embarrasingly appalling every time I hear it. I just hope that foreigners don't necessarily know American English well enough to realize what a clown the American public has amazingly elected not once, but twice.

What a pointless thing to write about. I guess if he had gotten all the names correct you would be complaining he is spending too much time paying attention to lacrosse and not enough time running the country. It's not like he's the first person in the country to make that mistake. Get a grip.

At least this President knows what the definition of is is....

Interesting post. Maybe next time you should write about the countless Baltimore democrats who can't speak proper English at all, but yet seem to get elected year after year.

Wow,Dan,seems like the neo-con's on this blog have their feather's a bit ruffled. Surely they know that their beloved Bushie is without a doubt the WORST president this country has ever produced. Oh,and Iraq? Those soldies are dying for no cause whatsoever; the "war on terror" is a fancy name for Bush's oil grab.

I voted for Bush twice. You can thank me for the booming economy and the fact that our soil has been protected. By the way, I'm a social worker, and his social progress is unmatched. I challenge you to do some research. Since substance abuse treatment is some thing that you support. Look at Bush's record. It's a fact; he has spent more money towards treatment and research than any other president. And, nationally rates of substance abuse have dropped significantly especially in adolescents. Yeah, and thanks to No Child Left Behind our kids are learning to read and write again. During his presidency, black home ownership is at a record high. Sorry, Danny Boy, your buddy O'Malley, doesn't have quite the same record. Under his leadership, blacks don't seem to progress so much; they just tend to get shot under the O'Malley plan. ---or the occassional fire bombing. And Bush is so bad, why? History will judge Bush well. Bush stands up to terrorists to keep us safe. Now, tell me why we should trust a Democrat? The same Democrats that allow the thugs to rape and pillage Baltimore City? So, who looks smart now, Mr. Roderick? You who supports the ilk that allow Baltimore city police to be shot execution style, children to be shot in our streets from stray bullets, a witness to be found in the county and shot, and it goes on. Or us crazed neocons that strive for peace and freedom? Think about it, would thugs be able to thrive if you had a Reagan Democrat in Maryland's highest office? Peace through Strength :)
