She just spanked her 5-year-old
Sometimes I don't know whether people are just making this stuff up, or being real. (Or maybe I don't want to believe that it could possibly be real.) But here's another pathetic letter from another pathetic "parent" bragging about having just spanked her 5-year-old. It sounds incredible but it compares in tone, sentiment and grammar with several others I have received since raising this topic in a column six weeks ago.
"I REMEMBER WHEN I WAS A KID MY MOMMA SPANKED US ON ARE BARE BEHINDS WITH HER LEATHER BELT WHEN WE WERE HOME AND WITH HER WOODEN OAK HAIRBRUSH ON OUR BARE BEHINDS WHEN WE WERE OUT, AND WHEN I BECAME THE AGE TO BABYSIT MY YOUNGER BROTHERS AND SISTERS MOMMA TOOK ME OUT SHOPING AT THE LOCAL MALL AT BELTS BELTS BELTS FOR MY OWN LEATHER BELT . . . . I PICKED ONE WITH DOUBLE LOOPS THEN SHE TOOK ME SHOPPING AT HAIRBRUSH . . . HAIRBRUSH HAIRBRUSH . . . WHERE I SAW ALOT OF LITTLE GIRLS GETTING SPANKED WITH THEM . . . SOME ON THERE BARE BOTTOMS AND SOME ON THERE PANTIES . . . SO I PICKED OUT A WOODEN OAK HAIRBRUSH AND I GAVE IT TO MOMMY TO PAY FOR IT THEN MOMMY SAID COME ON LETS GO LINDSY MAY AND WE DID . . . AND THE VERY NEXT DAY MOMMY WAS WORKING AND IT WAS MY FIIRST DAY BABYSITTING THEM AND THEY ALL TRIED ME OUT AND I TRIED MY LEATHER BELT OUT ON BLISTERING THERE BARE BEHINDS . . . AND THEN AT DINNER MY 5-YEAR-OLD SISTER TRIED ME AS TARGET PRACTICE AND THREW ONE OF HER MACAONI AND CHEESE AT ME. . . .I SIMPLY LIFTED HER UP FROM HER CHAIR CARRIED HER OVER TO THE COUCH STOOD HER UP RIGHT IN FRONT OF IT TOOK OFF MY LEATHER BROWN BELT LIFTED UP HER DRESS AND PULLED DOWN HER PANTIES TOOK HER OVER MY KNEE AND TANNED HER BEHIND 50 TIMES . . . PUT HER BACK ON HER FEET . . . PULLED BACK UP HER PANTIES AND PULLED BACK DOWN HER DRESS, SAID GIRL GET YOUR LITTLE 5-YEAR-OLD BEHIND TO THAT CORNER AND THEN SMACKED THE BACK OF HER DRESS WHERE HER BEHIND IS AND SHE DID AND FROM THAT POINT ON THEY ALL KNEW THAT LINDSY MAY DIDNT PLAY. IT WORKS SO WELL THAT WE ALL DO THE SAME TO OUR KIDS. AS A MATTER OF FACT I JUST GOT DONE SPANKING MY OLDEST (ONLY 5) WITH MY BELT THE SAME WAY."

I think that it's pretty obvious this is a made up letter intended to make fun of you and all of the other "wacko liberals" who think spanking is equivalent to blowing someone's brains out with a pistol. Last time I checked there are no stores anywhere called "Belts Belts Belts" or "Hairbrush Hairbrush Hairbrush." If you thought for one minute this was even a remotely serious letter you have more problems than you realize. It was obvious to me after reading the first 2 sentences it was made up.

Dan, this is an extreme case that I would find it hard to agree with. One little spank on the behind reinforces the punishment and absolutely helps teach children. The case you have put forward is abuse. There is a difference.

I agree with Steve to the extent that the letter is a fake designed to poke fun at your anti-spanking beliefs; however, I take umbrage with his "you and all of the other wacko liberals" comment.
As someone had stated in a previous comment, spanking transcends political beliefs. Don't believe me, Steve? Then go to the National Democratic Party's website and point out where they go on record as being anti-spanking (or check the Republican Party's website for their pro-spanking platform).

Dan, the letter is a fake. It may be similar in tone and style to others you have received, but it is also the same as "letters" posted by weirdos to forums and newsgroups that cater for "consensual adult spanking".
Every possible scenario is thrown in, invariably with relish. Someone is either having a dig at you, or getting their jollies by seeing their "letter" published - knowing it will be seen by others.
Just to clarify things, I used to be a moderator of a consensual adult spanking forum, and have seen many such "true life" tales. Every time I received a letter like this, the message was blocked. the poster blacklisted and details forwarded to their ISP.

People beat there children because they are bullies and cowards. They beat there children until there big enough to fight back, then they stop. The government does nothing about it because children can't vote.
