Kamenetz solidifies more Dem support

Councilman Kevin Kamenetz, the Democratic nominee for Baltimore County Executive, got the endorsement of a group of Democratic county legal officials, as he continues to try to rally his party around him after his primary defeat of fellow Councilman Joe Bartenfelder.

The so-called "Courthouse Team" includes State’s Attorney Scott Shellenberger, Register of Wills Grace Connolly, Orphans Court Judges Colleen Cavanaugh, Bill Evans, and Theresa Lawler, and Sheriff Jay Fisher.

In a statement, Connolly cited Kamenetz’ ability to work well with others; Kamenetz sometimes comes off as brash, and the campaign is apparently looking to show him as more personable.

“I’ve known Kevin for over 30 years, and he’s the most qualified person for this job,” Connolly said.

Still no word on the big fish in the endorsement pond. Joe Bartenfelder still hasn't responded to questions about whether he will get behind Kamenetz, who defeated him in what was a pretty intense campaign.

Kamenetz is facing former delegate and finance executive Ken Holt in November's general election.

If Bartenfelder gives in and backs Kamanetz after the way Kamentz blasted him in his campaign than he is spineless.

Kamenetz is a very qualified person who has accomplished great things as a councilman. The shopping center security camera law that he passed reduced crime and solved three homicides. He ran a tough campaign that countered the mud Bartenfelder was slinging with the help of some of his vicious volunteers. They even attacked his wife and family.

Joe never attacked anyone in any way! His supporters responded to blogs and he had nothing to do with, nor did he have any control over their emotions or writings. He could have come after KK in many ways publicly but chose not to because THAT was not his style and was NOT how this man was raised!!! His extremely strong personal value system could not include a negative campaign since it would totally go against what he believes in!
Joe's run for County Executive was for the sole purpose of serving the people in this county...NOT for money...NOT for power or control.....NOT for paybacks. Why do you think all but one council member worked as hard and as dirty as they did to defeat Joe? Many promises have been made to these people by Kamenetz and hopefully, they will never be carried out in November.
Kamenetz went after Joe in a cut throat, vile, and despicable way! Apparently, this style works in this corrupted county, where citizens are naive or just apathetic to the election process. No decent human being would stoop as low as Kamenetz and his cronies unless the paybacks of money and power were at stake. Need I say more?
I do believe in JUSTICE and KARMA and look forward to the November elections!
