Biden to shake Maryland money tree for Mikulski

Vice President Joe Biden will be in Chevy Chase on Thursday morning to help raise money for Sen. Barbara A. Mikulski's re-election, the vice president's office announced Wednesday night.

No further details were provided about the 8:30 a.m. event. Biden has been travelling the country campaigning and fundraising for Democratic candidates.

Mikulski is one of the most heavily favored Democratic incumbents up for re-election to the Senate this fall. She has millions more in the bank than her Republican challenger, Queen Anne's County Commissioner Eric Wargotz, and a wide lead in published polls.

Biden was in Boston on Wednesday to raise funds for the re-election of Arkansas Sen. Blanche Lincoln, an endangered Democrat thought to have only a slim chance of winning.

In the evening, he played host to approximately 100 guests at the Vice President's mansion in northwest Washington to mark the 16th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act. Among those on hand was Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a Minnesota Democrat and rising star in the Senate. No word if Mikulski, 74, was also there.

How old is Barbara??. She taught my socialogy class in college back in 1971. Never forget how concerned she was about students doing well and helping with their problems. You never forget that kind of dediction. Good Luck!!. Keep fighting for the people. You can always count on my vote.

When is Obama going to come and help raise money? We need to overcome all of the millions in corporate donations and personal wealth that Wargotz is going to use. Could use Pelosi's help too.

so glad to see Biden supporting mikulski. Its about time she gets the boot and proven that when biden and obama support their crew, they lose. lol

Ty biden.. Babs *viva la casa* needs to leave.Especially since she voted NO to secure borders and NO for english to be national language, No for more troops at border so i will vote "NO" for babs..
she has alzheimers anyway and if omalley loses in november, he will appoint himself to the u.s.senate roll. Pays more $$.. Ehrlich needs to win!!

Babs was once a needed commodity way back then, when I was a little girl. Today, I need someone new. Someone who lives in the present and understands my pain. Babs voice hurts my ears.

What a joke! Vice President 'Bite Me" raising money for a life-long career politician that has done nothing for her Party.
It is definitely time for a change!

I hope those two losers can understand that most working Marylanders are fed up with Mikulski and her healthcare support that has caused my heath insurance premium payment to increase by over 100 % in the past month. This amounts to about 5% percent of my retirement income. She has to go to Montgomery County to get her out of state money because tax paying Maryland residents certainly are not going to help her. Obama has sent his straw boss, Biden, out to hustle funny money for his lockstep lap puppy,"Little Lu Lu". She probably couldn't pick up too much money from her base support in Baltimore City and Prince George county so she needed to go to Monkey County to get her foreign loot. What a disgrace and embarrassment she is to the state of Maryland.

Imagine, the man who "is second in line" to the president in our area.

One thing about Barbara Mikulski, she's consistent and I've always felt truly dedicated to her constituency. Her opponent Wargotz has 21/2 years total political experience as a county commissioner and is nothing more than an opportunist who can't even raise enough GOP money for support. Spent over half a million of his own money and his campaign is in the red. He also home schools his kids, not much faith in Maryland's school system huh doc? He belongs on a golf course. Keep Babs in office!
