O'Malley picks up guitar, hopes to pick up cash

Call it "play to pay."

Gov. Martin O'Malley will strum tomorrow night at an Irish bar in Washington to raise money for his re-election bid.

The campaign event, billed as "O'Malley Live!" will include a few, but not all, members of the governor's longtime Celtic rock band, O'Malley's March. Ticket prices range from $40 to $500.

O'Malley's musical tendencies have long generated controversy -- with detractors saying he should have quit the band to focus on executive duties and supporters saying it provides a great way to connect with Marylanders.

O'Malley's March largely disbanded around the time its frontman transitioned from Baltimore mayor to Maryland governor. But they reunite for special events and put out an album last year.

hope he knows up the river without a paddle.maybe he can geta job with the PSC since he did such a fine job with rate increases and hirered 3 more people in there so voting would go his way.don't forget he increased the sales tax, took several trips to Ireland on the city's money. The list could go on

Better than Bobby's PSC appointees - because that's what governor's do, they appoint them - But Bobby's PSC APPOINTEES were utility lackies who gave BGE that whopping 78% rate hike and forced that hike on the consumers with Bobby's iron-clad contracts in place before he was fired by the voters.

Every appointment Bobby made to the PSC voted FOR degregulation - well, those appointees that were in the legislature at the time, anyway. Schusler and the internet scandal guy?

They really stuck it to the consumers; no matter how much you want to blame someone else for what Bobby's appointees did; it's was Bobby's administration that did it.

We had to move out of Maryland because the taxes were eating us alive! So much happier now just wish my friends in Maryland didn't have to suffer. The tefelon leprechan is bad for Maryland! Please don't reelect!

Hope he picks up a PINK SLIP- come november - Then he can sing Get a Job!

RED INK is all he and the Democratic Party know.

Wake up Marylanders this Democratic Party is not the Democratic Party your Paqrents knew.....this one is all about Socialism and their own pockets and welfare.....

So why does the Guv go to an Irish Pub in DC? He couldn't find a bar in his own jurisdiction that would have him?

I thought it was typical when he had a State Police HumVee take him to a gig during the Great Blizzard.

But I thought he quit the band to focus on Maryland? Julie, his band never largely disbanded, he has been playing gigs the entire time, even finding time to put out a new CD.

Simone, put the drugs down. Your so-called forced rate hike and deregulation was given to you by the democrat controlled legislature. I thought O'Malley was going to take on the rate hike? And how much more has your BGE bill gone up under O'Malley Simone?
