One down ...

One potential Republican gubernatorial running mate is out: Alison Asti sent out a news release announcing that she wants to be an Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge.

Asti, the former Executive Director of the Maryland Stadium Authority, was discussed in some Republican circles as a potential lieutenant governor pick for former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich, who is campaigning to reclaim his old job. Other names circulating include Ehrlich's former Secretary of State Mary D. Kane and Larry Hogan, who bowed out of the race earlier this year to make room for Ehrlich.

Ehrlich has said he'll announce his ticket mate this week on his Facebook page.

Billy Murphy!

Aris

I am literally on the edge of my seat! Can we assume it won’t be Mike Steele again since they’re not making the announcement in a lesbian-bondage club?

I am going to guess that Ehrlich's running mate will be Professor Peter Morici.
He has been tooting his horn on WBAL (The Ehrlich station) for some time. He is from Montgomery County.
He has a Ph.D. in economics, which Ehrlich can say makes him qualified to run the state like a business, and to advise on job growth, the growth of private industry and the like.
Of course, Morici is wonderful at pointing out problems and complaining about things. He just doesn't have any specifics on how to fix things.

Brian Murphy all the way to Annapolis...

No "wow" factor in any names mentioned.

I second the suggestion of Aris!

I have heard Ben Carson's name thrown around Annapolis

From past history - Black, blind and blonde - does anyone fit that bill?

...how about Bob Neall?

Bob Ehrlich could shake up the race by picking a fresh face from the business community instead of the cast of political characters presently under discussion.

After all, Mr. Ehrlich has made pandering to business owners the cornerstone of his campaign, illogically blaming Gov. O'Malley for George Bush's recession which Maryland has weathered better than almost all states.

Luckily for Mr. Ehrlich, there is a successful Prince George's County businessman who has been a longtime Ehrlich supporter (or is it the other way around?)

- Steve Lebowitz, Annapolis

So what you are saying Steve L. -of fake Bob Ehrlich twits fame-that you support the Democratic party policies in the state of Maryland of taxing the crap out of the citizens and businesses of Maryland.
How many businesses have left Maryland due to OMalley's tax increases?
How can a business hire new employess with the tax burden imposed on them by your fearless leader Martin OMalley?
Why would any large company move to the 4th highest taxed state in the country?
Maryland has weathered the recession not because of anything OMalley has done, but because off the presence and proximity of the federal government.
Raising taxes in 2007 as your guy did certainly was a brilliant move in a recession.
