O'Malley response to Ehrlich small business plans

Republican former Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. has focused Monday on his first major policy rollout: plans to help small businesses (see blog post below), which he's describing at stops in Gaithersburg and Reisterstown.

The campaign of Democratic Gov. Martin O'Malley has now responded. Here's an abridged version of the statement by campaign spokesman Rick Abbruzzese:

"This is not a plan. Bob Ehrlich's so-called plan is all talk and no action -- he is proposing a commission, a summit, a task force, three reviews and two explorations, but nothing to actually create jobs or help small businesses struggling because of the global recession.

"In stark contrast, Governor O'Malley has delivered results, including the Job Creation and Recovery Tax Credit to put unemployed Marylanders back to work and a rapid response small business loan guaranty program to get credit flowing again to our small businesses."

The only results I see from 4 years of the OMalley/Busch/Miller trioka is that now Maryland takes more out of my paycheck than Social Security does.
This is progress?

OweMalley is the SAVIOUR. Don't forget he saved us from BGE hikes by taking on BGE. Oops, nevermind we still got hosed by BGE.

Like OweMalley should talk about taking on giant oil companies...YEAH F'N RIGHT

At the end of the day, OweMalley is just a little silver spoon having white boy from Rockville that stole 100 million dollars from the Baltimore City education fund. Wallstreet, at least, stole from the middle class. OweMalley stole from the working poor of Baltimore. I can’t F’N believe that nobody ever remembers where that money went. Somebody better pay me to forget too.

CASH RULES EVERTHING AROUND ME C.R.E.A.M. GET THE MONEY $$ DOLLA DOLLA BILLZ Y'ALL $$

Blah blah blah blah blah! It's not even campaign season yet and I'm tired of the phrase "largest-ever increase in state spending." O'Malley needs to get some new material. And maybe a little guitar accompaniment, to go along with the world's smallest violin playing "My Heart Bleeds For You."

Better yet, how about some real results in his time as governor? Maryland has become hostile to small business, to people with incomes that create jobs, to an independent business meritocracy. Yeah, Mr. O'Malley. Try that word. "Meritocracy." I know it's a new one for you.

That sales tax increase did wonders for small business in Maryland.

The reality is neither of then did much to aid small business in Maryland who ever is elected will not follow through any promises they make.

Are you kidding? Ehrlich was so hamstrung by a Dem majority state house, he had very little chance to change anything. He got zero cooperation and the Busch/ Miller tag tema steamrolled over all of his initiatives.
MD is heading toward the same type of fiscal crisis they have in CA. The Dems have no bipartisanship in this state and have hurt the business climate so much. It is really no surprise they lost the Northrop Grumman HQ battle - yet MD had more existing Northrop facilities already in place...didn't matter. NG easily justified kicking MD to the curb.....too many unfriendly business practices and taxes.

Governor O'Malley has been wreckless with his spending plans. He, like most Democrats, fail to comprehend there the Americans' purse is not infinate. With the Democrats running Congress, the White House, our country has had the biggest spending spree in our nation's history.

Funny how only in his last 5 months of his four year term is O'Malley concerned with small businesses. The only lip service is what O'Malley is giving this issue! O'Malley, you had your turn, now let's get some real change!
