Mayor SRB goes to Annapolis
Baltimore’s new mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake made her first appearance before the city’s Annapolis delegation this morning. Here are some highlights.
SNOW
Rawlings-Blake said city plowing was made more difficult by some city residents “just leaving their cars in the middle of the road.”
She wants delegates to come and visit the snow emergency center on Calvert street.
SRB identified 17 “attack zones.” These are city neighborhoods the never got plowed during Part A of the snowstorm and will be cleared by contractors. (We will ask for list.)
FENDING OFF THE REPUBLICANS
Delegates want some “statistics” and “talking points” to highlight the city’s need for state motor vehicle funds. They said the city’s comparatively untouched pot of transportation money is creating a tempting target for other cash strapped jurisdictions.
TABLE GAMES
City delegates said they are under pressure from Del. Turner (D-Howard) to sign on to his table games bill.
Members wanted to know 'Where does SRB stand?'
SRB said: “If we can get Indy Racing, I think we can get table games.”
FINAL WORDS
“This has been the craziest week ever,” says SRB.
(Also, she wore heels! We were impressed because we slipped twice on the icy Annapolis sidewalks, in one instance landing on hip and spilling coffee. We were unhurt because we are swaddled in heavy winter gear.)

Comments
Are you surprised by Queen B's wearing of the heels, in the snow none the less?
Supporter of full-fledged gambling in a jurisdiction already plagued by multiple social ills, yet per your article this does not concern her!
While most of her city constituents are stuck in their house due to NO snow removal almost at all, she is in Annapolis trying to impress the General Assembly. What a leader?!

Former Mayor Dixon was ridiculed for wearing a leather jacket on a trash truck but Mayor SRB wears heels in a blizzard and you are impressed. Nobody wears heels in a blizzard!!!
Mayor SRB continuously talks about this list of 17 attack zones but she never produces one because it just doesn't exist. (These are talking points)
Oakford Avenue in Park Heights has not been plowed, the roof has fallen from 10 houses, 3 people were trapped under the collapse and Mayor SRB is in Annapolis this is really a terrible sign.
What will it take for Mayor SRB to get it that the residents are upset and angry about the poor quality of service that has been received from her administration?
