My two chiefs of staff
O'Malleywatch is going after House Speaker Mike Busch for having co--chiefs of staff (Kristin Jones and John Favazza) with a new video. It's amusing, but maybe not so fair. When he became speaker, Busch had one chief of staff, Tom Lewis, who subsequently left to work for Hopkins. Rather than hire someone to replace him, or promoting either Kristen or John over the other, Busch left both in place as co-chiefs of staff. There are fewer people working in the speaker's office than there were when Tom left in 2005. In any case, we also learn that Martin Watcher apparently has the hots for Senate President Mike Miller's chief of staff, Victoria Gruber (who also happens to be Tom Lewis' wife).

Comments
Just proves OMW is a little older than we thought with the Gruber comment. (Did anyone else notice in his early posts references to state actions from nearly 20 years ago?)

It's amusing, but maybe not so fair.
Fair?
HaHa
Such a silly statement.
Fair is nothing but an illusion. What is fair to you may be not so fair to me.
Reputation is the key here. How does one fix a reputation gone wayward? Stone are hard to get back once thrown.

Well, you know O'Malleywatch, they'd rather have seen the speaker expand the state payroll. It's a little disappointing that this is the best criticism the Republican Party can produce. What's next, the quality of the office coffee? Computer printouts that don't use both sides of the paper? Holes in his socks?

It is more disappointing PeterJ that people are foolish enough to say some anonymous blog represents the views of a party with hundreds of thousands of voters statewide. What's next, your coffee spill representing Martin O'Malley's Southern Maryland public dock follies? :).

Well now PeterJ, Check out O'MalleyWatch and see how O'Malley spends his time taking photo opts with drunks.
You see, its all just an attempt to be friendly.
Rick Abbruzzese, Governor Martin O’Malley’s Press Secretary said that the Governor regrets the incident of March 29th and was simply attempting to be friendly with a group of residents of the area who waved to him as he arrived to visit Kitts Point and had no knowledge of any background of the persons he greeted and with whom he agreed to be photographed.

OMW is a fun Blog, I will promise you guys at the Baltimore Sun, not all posts are from Republicans.
The Baltimore Sun should do some forward thinking and analysis about the current and future tax revenue short falls. That means reporting! The figures will be in the BILLIONS of Dollars. Regardless of Party, our citizen Legislature is FAILING to see that the continuation of spending cash for non-essential Budget Objectives is out of control.
Money is made two ways, you print it (the Federal Reserve) and devalue it by distribution. Or you TAKE IT from somebody or enterprise via TAXATION.
Maryland and other States have just been the benefactor of the BHO "bailout". O'Malley is clueless about the future forecasts.
The Baltimore Sun should be active with investigative Reporters and Jounalist. So much to report, where are you Baltimore Sun?

Experience has taught me that most critics of newspapers don't actually read them. What percentage of O'Malleywatch, Red State Maryland and related blogs are merely commentary on facts uncovered by The Baltimore Sun? 75 percent? More? Just because newspapers don't spin events as you would like doesn't mean they're not doing their job. You want to see more investigative reporting? Subscribe.

PeterJ
Each month I write a check for $39.94 made payable to the The Baltimore Sun.
How about you?
And to be fair and honest I often write and thank reporters for their articles.
How about you?

OMW never let facts get in the way of a petty and inaccurate blog. You can't blame OMW for getting confused since they normally deal with single COS to get their leaked inforamtion.
Posted by: Chum | April 10, 2009 2:33 PM
Chum, exactly how do you know all of this unless you are OMW or the supposed COS, and even then, how would you know there aren't more sources? A fella with a vindicative agenda like you seems smarter than such elementary assumptions.
To Andy Green, do reporters speculate about any of this sort of stuff? Or is confined to the tinhat world of political insiders?

There was a lot of speculation on press row in the State House about OMW's identity when he/she first surfaced a few years ago, but I think it's pretty much died down. Personally, I've never really cared. The actual identity of the writer doesn't matter too much to me, since he/she is perfectly transparent about his/her motivations. You know where it's coming from, so what difference does a name make?

Anyone who really pays attention knows who is behind the blog. From a Maryland Delagte and/or Senator's fax maxhine to OMW to Sun Forum in matter of minutes..
Posted by: Chum | April 10, 2009 3:32 PM
oh, I forgot. I never said there was only one source. I was just commenting on there usually being one COS since OMW made a bid stink about Busch.

For the record, Detective Dick, I not only subscribe to The Baltimore Sun, I get the New York Times and Wall Street Journal home delivered, too. I read quite a few newspapers online as well but I never find it as satisfying as the real thing.
Posted by: PeterJ | April 10, 2009 4:33 PM
Well, PeterJ, you must do a lot of recycling. The WSJ and IBD are great rags, the Baltimore Sun is a coffee shop newspaper. My gripe with the Sunpapers is mute, we as Marylanders need a quality Newspaper. Maybe they should have the Left comments and articles on the left side of the paper and the Right comments and articles on the right side of the paper. Then give advertisers the option of which side of the page they want to advertise on. I would think that businesses would overly place ads on the Right side of the Sunpapers.
Just an opinion of course.

"Well now PeterJ, Check out O'MalleyWatch and see how O'Malley spends his time taking photo opts with drunks" Carole, I would becareful talking bout drunks in a blog about chiefs of staff. Oh the irony.

Chum, is this the fax you are referring to? http://talk.baltimoresun.com/showthread.php?p=2726921 Where does it show a senator or delegate? It shows a circuit court facsmile number.

"The same case in which an Order was faxed to the parties and some scant 30 minutes later our dear friend Geevill was posting about that Order, even though it hadn't been reported in the media?"
Why yes Han Solo. That fax. Thanks for sharing it, but you left out other important details like the one above.
