UPDATED: Del. Myers' son killed in accident

The son of Del. LeRoy Myers of Western Maryland was killed in a motorcycle accident Thursday night, the AP reports. Ryan Myers was 23.

UPDATE: Gov. Martin O'Malley issued the following statement:

“I want to extend my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Ryan Andrew Myers, who died suddenly in a tragic motorcycle accident yesterday.

“My thoughts, and the thoughts and prayers of all Marylanders, are with the family of Ryan Myers, including his father, Delegate LeRoy Myers, on this very difficult and sad day.”

:( . My thoughts and prayers go out to the fine delegate from Western, MD. For those who know him, he really is a caring and doting father. So sad to see tragedy of this sort. His son will surely be remembered.

i personally knew ryin. i live in clearsprin and ryan always drove fast, it seems to have finally caught up with him.if anyone would like me to personally say something to leroy myers, place your message here and i will make a collage. i appreciate all of your support

LeRoy, Luann and family, Our family sends our prayers up to God that he comforts you in a way that only he can do . I've known Ryan since coaching him in Little league and he truly was an All-American kid..No parent should out live your child .God please help this family cope with this terrible loss and be with them and help those who are mourning this very sad occasion .
