Election day

Happy election day, everyone. Things were humming at my polling place at Rodgers Forge Elementary School (line out the door, around the corner and down the hall), but there were plenty of machines and everything went smoothly. The talk in line was more about the prospect of free Starbucks for people flashing their "I voted" stickers than the historic nature of the election.

What are other people seeing? Write in and let us know.

Dan Rodricks has a thread along these lines going on his blog. Check it out:

I voted in the city, at the North Harford Rec Center. There was a woman stationed at the door, not allowing entrance until she had seen ID. She then wrote down the complete name. (She mispronounced my name and then asked what kind of name it is)She did not understand what I was saying when I told her that what she was doing was illegal. There are 3 voting machines and 3 voter cards (the credit card looking things?) so when someone would finish voting the next person would have to wait for the card to be recharged. I could swear that on previous ocassions there were more than 3 cards.....
