A lighthouse that leans
This is vacation season, and I am sorry that I have not been blogging lately. I do have a lot to say, and I will put up a post shortly about our vacation.
But because I feel bad that I have been out of touch, I'm giving you, loyal readers, a sneak peak at a lighthouse that hits the market next month. As you probably know, the Coast Guard has been divesting itself of these lighthouses over the past seven years, and usually one or two comes up for sale each year in the Chesapeake Bay.
This one could be considered most affordable property in Talbot County right now: bids for the Sharp's Island light start at $5,000.
Pros: gorgeous water views. Cons; potential lead paint and asbestos, no utilities, and somehow I doubt the current owners will do anything about that leaning.
So, if you wanted Bloody Point Bar and were just too late to get your bid in a few months ago, here's your chance. And whoever buys it, please invite me for a visit.

Many years ago on a extended paddling trip from Bloodsworth Island to Tangier I scaled the leaning light house with friend Bo Hoppin - although the inside had a bit of an Poseidon Adventure decor -- the views are well worth $5 grand - I'm calling my realator now
