Calling all Onancock fans
I keep hearing that Onancock, Va., is THE place to go on the Shore these days...lots of great restaurants, waterfront and lovely inns. But I've never been there -- although I travel around a lot, I don't often explore the Virginia Shore.
I'd like to do a Local Travel feature on Onancock, and I could probably do one just through Googling some places, but I wouldn't feel really good about that because I would be recommending something I hadn't experienced. So, if any of you have been to Onancock and want to share your experiences (good or bad), send me an email at rona.kobell@baltsun.com, and I'll compile your responses and post them for our next Thursday Local Travel section.
Please, let's keep it honest. If you own an inn and want to say how great it is, I am amenable to posting it, but I would like to know who you are so I can make it clear.
Thanks, fellow travelers. And have a good weekend.

I moved down here about three years ago from the "Hamptons", the eastern end of Long Island New York. I love Onancock, it reminds me of what it used to be like living in Montauk and East Hampton before all the "beautiful" people found it.
Onancock has wonderful things to do. There are delightful restaurants, lovely B&Bs, great old houses, galleries, a museum, a local playhouse, a movie theater and much more. It's not a trendy or fast paced area, but a wonderful tranquil setting for a weekend getaway. The Harbor area is a nice place to take a cup of coffee in the morning to watch the local waterfowl.
Don't miss lunch at my friends cafe at The Onancock General Store. Great food and a neat atmosphere.
